It’s not just Oregon, it’s a CFB challenge. OL is HARD. And to be frank, I believe the money some young players are making has impacted their hunger and resolve to develop. Development isn’t a one-way street. Some players think coaches wave a magic wand and BOOM, they become better players. It can be ugly and uncomfortable. And that’ll never change. But early financial success can create a false sense of arrival. So the discomfort can turn to DISCONTENT real fast. So coaches have to now manage that. We’re all witnessing a period of developmental purgatory while the game course corrects… and it will.

In your opinion what is the issue with Oregon’s offensive line?

“Stay on that side” mentality makes no sense people should be allowed to revise their opinion with new info / tape And this just leads to people getting dug in on wrong takes and ignoring all evidence just so they never admit they’re wrong
Nope, not allowed, stay on that side

People will kill Pate for this, but he was entertaining an idea rather than taking a stance. There is nothing wrong with him saying this. In fact, watch the 4th quarter against Ohio State and that 1st half against Ole Miss. When Texas is on, even the best teams can't beat them... The problem is Texas can't stay "on" for more than half a game, much like their 2023 selves.
Since we’re doing preseason Texas/Manning hype again… I’m just gonna drop this clip. Listen to @JoshPateCFB

People who think Ohio State and Indiana aren't good confuse "good" with "elite." Those are two different words. And hey, maybe we need to change our definition of elite in this era.
Indiana is not even a good team this year. Neither is Ohio state. We could’ve been undefeated. Oregon sucks as well smh Fire Jason Beck and Kyle Whittingham asap

We didn't kill the Big Ten West; the Big Ten West killed the Big Ten East and took on the name "Big Ten".
The Big Ten West. You killed the man, not the idea.

The fringe holds Ohio State to a standard that none of its members hold themselves to in their dating, financial, relational, and personal lives. Ryan Day has the highest winning percentage among active CFB coaches with 100 or more FBS wins. You don't know more football than he does, and you never will. I never will, either, but at least I know more football than you because I set realistic expectations. You all think it's easy to be prime Nick Saban and Alabama, demanding Day do that in an era when it's harder than ever, and he's already done everything Urban and Tressel did... fine, then demand that you live up to that standard, translated into your personal life.
The sad thing is the majority of the fringe seems to know more than you and the coaching staff 🤣🤣

They are by a mile the worst subsection of any CFB fanbase. They are like wealthy American citizens who whine and complain about minor things and have no empathy for those suffering around them. "Oh my cookie is baked soft" *said in front of a starving child* They will whine and complain if OSU doesn't win it all this year, despite their quarterback dying (metaphorically), an insane schedule after losing many of their previous recruiting classes and NFL starters, and a philosophy shift that will pay dividends in the future. They still might win it all anyways! I get why they exist: sunshine pumpers and the media predict Ohio State will win every game or almost every game, and, well, that's unrealistic, too, but you basically win every game. They're just predicting what is normal and has been the case, and why not! It's better than picking any other school to win every game, which every positive subsection of every fanbase does, unless they are broken. You spit on your own success and take it for granted, and THAT is disgusting. You're not holding them to a higher standard than the university and football team hold themselves to; you are just the guy in the room who thinks they know everything because you talk the loudest.

A number ran across while writing the Monday Morning Insider today: In five Big Ten games, Indiana opponents are averaging 1.97 yards per carry, across 180 attempts. #iufb

Texas, LSU, and/or Indiana. There is a world where all 3 make the Final Four if the bracket shakes out right.
A team that looks highly suspect right now will reach the final 4…can smell it from a mile away But whomst?
