When leaders of public and private organisations have the ability to see the impact of their governance activities in real-time; the dynamics of leadership changes. Stakeholders trust leaders who hold themselves accountable. #governance – at Somerset West, South Africa

A country’s decline is rarely sudden. It follows when accountability weakens, institutions fail and warnings go unheeded. Leadership must put national interests above ideology, protecting prosperity and future generations. #governance @USAmbRSA newsday.co.za/south-africa/2…

Let's ask the questions under the following catergories: 1. Administrative responsibility: The Bronkhorstspruit plant manager, if proven guilty, will likely be fired. 2. Political responsibility: Who'll be accountable and what are the consonsequences? politicsweb.co.za/news/bronk…

An excellent question posed by @markmywords For as long as the public have no clear understanding of a state organisations' governance activities, with no independently assured and audited #governance reports - taxpayers will continue the bailouts. It's an endless drain pit! – at Sir Lowry's Pass, South Africa
Again, South African taxpayers are exposed via Denel. National Treasury has provided guarantees of R660 million plus US$14 million (~R889–R891 million) — a contingent liability rather than an immediate cash transfer — so the state-owned defence company can meet obligations on secured contracts. This follows billions in earlier recapitalisations, while Denel continues to report operating losses, liquidity constraints and its ninth consecutive audit disclaimer. The MTBPS notes the principal fiscal risk remains Denel’s ability to stabilise without further support. How long will we let @GovernmentZA plunder our funds before it’s enough?

In 2015/16 SFF (subsidiary of CEF) sold ~10m barrels of strategic stock below market prices, largely wiping out SA's oil reserves. Courts set deals aside over #governance process failures & weak oversight - SA now on the backfoot. Digitised governance makes decisions visible. – at Somerset West, South Africa

Hard line questions pertaining governance are seldom answered... There are many skeletons in the cupboard, and indeed, as many buried! #governance #corruption @MadlangaInquiry @Nhlakan44469067 Governance made visible through digitised governance frameworks changes the game!

When "our people" understand how #corruption affects the economy -- and specifically how it impacts daily living -- then, perhaps, they'll begin to think and act differently. Choices are important - they become easier when the benefits are clear. Rotten #leadership destroys! – at Somerset West, South Africa
Shameless you are! You know this is not the reality and yet here you are, pandering this BS to your sheeple that still believe in your lies. You are looting this country dry, and by the way, you are not the government anymore. Taxpayers are tired of being ripped off by the ANC. 🇿🇦

When the government itself is embroiled in #corruption, there's scant hope the constitutional values and provisions can be enjoyed by ALL the country's citizens. Make the #governance in state organisations visible, shine the spotlight brightly, so that the rot can be removed. – at Sir Lowry's Pass, South Africa
OLIVER TAMBO LECTURE | Madlanga Commission chairperson Mbuyiseli Madlanga says: "Sadly, the reality is that corruption is so endemic and deeply embedded in the fabric of our society." He adds that if corruption and maladministration are allowed to go unchecked, they will pose a serious threat to South Africa's democratic state.

Tragic: 19 years in prison, for nothing! A 24-year wait for a presidential pardon decision. One man died before justice was acknowledged. The @ConCourtSA found a grave failure of constitutional duty. When the system fails, lives are lost! #governance politicsweb.co.za/news/mofok…

Let’s be honest , when ANC holds 40% any combination of political parties will keep ANC in power through coalitions. Smaller parties become kingmakers which means even with their tiny percentage they can get ANC over the line to rule at National, provincial & municipal level. Interestingly, MK & EFF are just factions that broke off from ANC a few years ago. If ANC + MK+ EFF go into coalition we are back to square one like 1994

Many people were hospitalised by contaminated water. What if lives had been lost? @NasiphiMoya and those responsible must face independent investigation and consequences if negligence is proven. Accountability is essential. @HermanMashaba @ME_Beaumont newsday.co.za/south-africa/2…

As the risk grows of South Africa being kicked out of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) in November, social media is filled with "experts" telling you who's to blame. Many are unfortunately just parroting ANC propaganda verbatim without bothering to actually read what the Act says. Here are some of the key eligibility requirements for a country to remain in AGOA: The country must have, or is making progress toward establishing:   1. A market-based economy that protects private property rights and minimises government interference in the economy. 2. The rule of law, political pluralism, and the right to due process, a fair trial, and equal protection under the law. 3. A system to combat corruption and bribery. 4. Does not engage in gross violations of internationally recognised human rights or provide support for acts of international terrorism and cooperates in international efforts to eliminate human rights violations and terrorist activities. Has the ANC-led South African government been meeting these criteria?

There's a lot happening in this interview - citizens need to also listen to what's not being said. (Hint: Where oversight fails.) Holding all spheres of leadership accountable is critical, and digitising state organisation's governance framework just as critical. @Newzroom405
Water and Sanitation Director-General, Dr Sean Phillips, says the national department does not have a budget to maintain municipal infrastructure. He says Parliament does not allocate the department a budget for that because it's not their function. Watch: tinyurl.com/y8fep273

Every SA citizen will be affected by the potential withdrawal of #AGOA. Should this happen, the consequences will be bleak. Citizens have a right to know what our politicians are doing, especially when it affects the welfare of the nation. #governance newsday.co.za/south-africa/2…

For South Africa to come back from the ashes, it requires ethical leaders who take good governance seriously - who hold themselves accountable. Currently, the country doesn't have that calibre of persons in the leadership structures! #governance @EdKieswetter @lynne_ogilvy

So many cases of failing governance - citizens pay the price whilst leaders not held accountable! When governance is made visible, this situation changes - taxpayers then have the means to hold municipalities and their leaders accountable. #governance #governancevisibility
Yes, the clean water and sewage systems are MEANT to be separate systems. BUT due to corruption & incompetence they are not anymore! When there are water outages in areas for prolonged periods , people can’t flush toilets. Sewage sits in pipes, solids build up, pipes block, and raw sewage seeps into the ground. We physically witness this when sewage overflows onto roads. Note: I used the word “witness” because we are seeing a crime scene unfold That overflowing sewage then seeps into or crosses into the ageing pipes that have LEAKS and are carrying OUR clean water. This is exactly what happened with the burst sewer affecting Findlay Reservoir. This is basic service delivery failure from years of no maintenance and zero accountability. We pay rates and we get sewage in our water and excuses from officials.

The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same. Tackling unemployment requires a few fundamentals, including the deregulation of stiff labour laws. Moreover, without investors there's no sustainable work - meaning EWC + BBBEE must be scrapped. No escaping this!
There is no "intensifying" without deregulating. This is the same old stuff that these politicians do to make them themselves feel as if they are doing something about the crisis.

The time will come when "the people shall truly govern"... Real-time governance across all state organisations allows citizens to ask the right questions, and at the right time. The nation of South Africa is awakening, and it's happening fast. #governance #governancevisibility
Dear South Africans, please don't let politicians turn your own money into a birthday present! 😭😂 The ANC cuts the fuel levy for ONE month, and suddenly it's “A BETTER LIFE FOR ALL.” Remember when fuel went up by nearly R3 twice? Now they want applause for temporarily reducing the damage? 😭 Your taxes are not a donation to the ANC! It's the same as SASSA, NSFAS that's your money. Government is not taking money from its own pocket to rescue you. It's your money they're managing! It's like a landlord increasing your rent by twice by R3,000, then giving you a R1000 discount before elections and expecting you to call him a hero 😭 Please learn the difference between a government doing its job and a political party campaigning with your own money!
