Capital is flowing across Africa. Why is Ghana capturing so little of it? Look at the funding map from @TechCabal Insights for January–July 2026. Benin attracted $327.1M, Egypt $300.7M, Kenya $217M, South Africa $201M and Nigeria $164M . Meanwhile, @theinnospark Ghana Innovation Journal’s H1 2026 Startup Funding Report Card recorded $26.6M in disclosed startup funding. The periods differ by one month, but the contrast raises an important question: Why isn’t Ghana capturing a larger share of Africa’s startup capital? From my work across Ghana’s startup ecosystem, I see a country with entrepreneurial talent, growing technical communities, emerging innovation hubs and opportunities across fintech, agritech, digital infrastructure and Web3. Yet, favourable conditions alone do not attract capital. Investors need a strong pipeline of investment-ready startups, credible traction, clear pathways to scale, reliable data and a deeper pool of local capital willing to co-invest. Ecosystem development must go hand in hand with capital formation. Ghana cannot afford to be merely a place where great startups are built before the funding, ownership and value creation move elsewhere. We need to move beyond building startups to building an ecosystem that consistently attracts, deploys and retains capital. The question is no longer whether Ghana has potential. It is whether we are building the investment infrastructure to convert that potential into economic value. What will it take for Ghana to become a destination for startup capital, rather than a spectator to its movement across Africa? @asemota @isaacnewtonIII @eannan_24 @Joe_Jackson_GH @samgeorgegh , I’ll appreciate your inputs.

Road to Blockchain & Crypto Conference- First stop done and dusted! This one was for the Builders, next is for our crypto bros! Anticipate more value from @Builders_Circle as we get closer to #BCC2027
THE BCC HACKER HOUSE RECAP Three days, Live products, Builders from across the ecosystem, 🇬🇭 🇹🇬 🇳🇬 🇿🇲 🇰🇪 . Late-night builds, live streams, deep technical conversations, hiking, games, swimming …and a whole lot of community. Here’s what went down DAY 1 -THURSDAY We kicked things off Thursday evening at the #NoBSZone. Builders arrived, connected, exchanged ideas and got to know one another. Then the build began. The evening session turned into a late-night building sprint, with Kaleel (@nyuiela) taking us live and capturing the energy from Thursday night into Friday morning. If you missed it, check the stream links below. It was the perfect way to start: No pressure. No performance. Just builders building. DAY 2 - FRIDAY- The Circle Friday morning started with another live session from @nyuiela on building multiple AI agents using Dots. By afternoon, the formal Hacker House build sessions were underway. @kwekutech streamed the action as builders went deep into sharing their projects and taking feedbacks during The Circle. The goal wasn’t simply to talk about what could be built, it was to present what has been built and is live. 🔹 @seevcash by @Dawoodiddris 🔹 @symlyt_official by @sahadevgh 🔹 @Hopeum_io by @lionprado17 🔹 @LearnwayApp by @CodeMensah 🔹 @sikadesk by @JovellsAppiah 🔹 @sousubox by @Pie_Arr_Square 🔹 @BlockFinax by @Anthonykumako 🔹 Zyra by @gideondern_ Special shoutouts to @elijahzgambo @sahadevgh @Dawoodiddris @JovellsAppiah and @nothing_seth and for the wealth of experience shared. DAY 3 - TOUCH GRASS After two days of intense building, it was time to step away from the screens. Day 3 was our Touch Grass Day. We left the #NoBSZone and hiked through the Abokobi Hills towards @Ashesi . The hike gave builders a chance to disconnect from their screens and reconnect with nature and with each other. We reached Ashesi for snacks and games, followed by even more games, laughter, banter and eventually swimming. It was a different kind of building, building relationships. WHY THE HACKER HOUSE MATTERS A strong ecosystem isn’t built by events alone. It’s built by people who know each other. People who collaborate. People who share knowledge. People who challenge each other. People who build together. The @BCC_Ghana Hacker House was designed to create exactly that environment. A place where builders could come together, work on real projects, exchange ideas, find collaborators and create memories outside the usual conference format. And that’s exactly what happened. The Hacker House was more than a hackathon. It was a shared experience. A builder community in action. To everyone who showed up, built, shared, streamed, documented, collaborated and touched grass with us: Thank you. And to the builders working on your products, Keep building. The house may be over. The building isn’t. The Circle Streams, powered by @kwekutech 👇🏿
