When a US state issues its own dollar token, a bridge failure becomes a public finance problem, so the infrastructure has to survive a formal security review. Wyoming ran that review. In August 2026 the Wyoming Stable Token Commission deprecated its LayerZero implementation and migrated FRNT, which it describes as the first fiat-backed, fully reserved stable token issued by a US public entity, to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure under a multi-year contract. The federal side has moved too. In August 2025 the Department of Commerce began publishing Bureau of Economic Analysis data, including real GDP and the PCE price index, onchain through Chainlink Data Feeds. A public issuer has to defend its vendor choice on the record, which makes Wyoming's migration a harder adoption signal than any partnership announcement. US lawmakers are on the Link:NYC speaker list, along with Anthony Apollo, Executive Director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission. The lawmakers share a program with an official who has already run that review and chosen Chainlink. Watch the livestream on Chainlink's official channels from 9:45 AM ET, 21:45 in Taipei, via chain.link/events/linknyc 2 days until Link:NYC.

The hard part of DeFi loans against custodied assets: how does a lending market trust collateral it can't hold? CustodySync combines four Chainlink services. Proof of Reserve (with a transfer-restricted receipt token), Data Feeds, Data Streams and CRE keep both sides in sync.

Institutional capital just got a new on-ramp to DeFi. Introducing Chainlink CustodySync — with @Anchorage as launch partner. Institutions can now access DeFi lending while assets stay in regulated custody. No more choosing between security and yield.
Introducing Chainlink CustodySync, a new solution that lets qualified custodians give their institutional clients access to DeFi lending markets, all while assets remain securely in custody. With @Anchorage as the official launch partner, together we’re establishing a new standard for institutional DeFi. CustodySync keeps custody and lending systems in sync across the full lifecycle of a loan: → For custodians: faster time to market and lower operational overhead, with custodian-managed controls → For lending markets: independent, verifiable data and a consistent risk framework → For institutions: passive capital becomes productive capital More than $80 billion sits in DeFi lending markets. Meanwhile, the roughly $700 billion in digital assets under custody is less than 0.5% of all $250 trillion in traditional assets under custody. The opportunity to connect traditional institutional capital to onchain finance remains vast. Large institutions have lacked a secure way of accessing these markets. Regulations require many of them to keep their digital assets with a qualified custodian, a firm that meets specific requirements for holding assets on behalf of clients, and custody systems were never built for DeFi. Even when custody and lending systems are connected, inconsistent loan valuations can trigger premature liquidation or delayed liquidations, exposing borrowers and lenders to significant financial risk. @Anchorage, home to the first federally chartered digital asset bank in the U.S., is the first qualified custodian to adopt CustodySync, connecting its institutional clients to DeFi lending markets while their assets remain in regulated custody. Institutional capital no longer has to choose between the security of custody and the liquidity of DeFi. With Chainlink, it gets both.

A gold exchange that has traded gold for over a century is picking Chainlink CCIP as the way its token moves across chains. HKGX is described as the world's fourth-largest gold venue by volume. Old market, new rails. This is the Link:NYC theme before the doors open.

CustodySync: institutions don’t leave qualified custody to use DeFi lending. Assets stay with the custodian. Collateral works onchain. Launch partner: Anchorage Digital — first federally chartered digital asset bank in the U.S. CRE + Proof of Reserve + Data Feeds + Data Streams. “Still in custody” has to be verifiable, not a slogan. @chainlink @Anchorage @CL_Community

Big start to a big week for @chainlink! Other institutions are already asking about this offering to help put custodied assets to work in DeFi. This opens the door for a much larger pool of institutional capital to participate in onchain markets. Proud to help make this possible with @Anchorage.

1/9 🚨 Chainlink just introduced CustodySync, with Anchorage Digital as its launch partner. The goal? Unlock institutional access to DeFi lending WITHOUT requiring assets to leave qualified custody. This could be a major bridge between TradFi and DeFi. 🧵👇

For institutions, accessing DeFi isn’t just about finding opportunities. It’s also about meeting custody requirements and managing risk. #Chainlink CustodySync addresses that challenge by keeping custody and lending systems in sync throughout a loan’s lifecycle.

Institutional capital no longer has to choose between regulated custody and DeFi liquidity. CustodySync coordinates offchain custody and onchain lending via CRE, Proof of Reserve, and synchronized data streams: • Assets stay in qualified custody • Identical pricing prevents liquidation mismatches • Instant access to onchain liquidity Full technical breakdown: chain.link/blog/introducing-…

A Chainlink co-founder said on stage that if his AI ever suggested a $450 pair of running shoes, he’d shut the whole thing off that day. Everyone’s talking about AI that can spend money. Buy stuff, move cash, pay bills. Nobody’s asking the boring question: who decides how much the AI is allowed to spend? That was the real story of this panel. Here’s what I took from it. 1. The old fight is over Three years ago the debate was whether banks would ever touch blockchains. @SergeyNazarov pointed out that it got settled while most people weren’t looking. Swift, DTCC and the big clearing houses all run their own versions now. So the question moved. It’s not “will banks use this.” It’s “who’s the customer?” 2. Versions of the future Version one is easy to picture. AI is your hands. A back-office person says “move this collateral,” and the AI does it. Version two is the weird one. The AI becomes its own kind of customer. It makes buying and money decisions with way less human input than we’re used to. He was clear this isn’t happening yet. But at the speed AI is moving, he thinks it’s possible. And if the buyer is a machine, a lot of what companies pour money into stops mattering. Faster page loads. Nicer buttons. A cleaner checkout. A machine doesn’t click buttons. His joke: you know those screenshots of a bank website with startups circling each section they’re replacing? Now the whole page is one arrow pointing at “AI.” Whoever the AI picks wins. Anyone still polishing buttons for humans is playing the old game. 3. The permission slip If an AI has a bank account, what stops it from going wild? His answer is a public registry. Every AI agent gets an ID. Next to that ID sits a file listing what it’s allowed to do. Something like: “this agent can spend up to $100,000 on Mastercard’s agent payment system.” If it asks for $1 million, the system says no, then pings the human. Banks and payment companies check the registry before the AI moves a cent. No entry, no money. Why doesn’t this exist already? Because everyone has to be able to read it and write to it. Banks, AI companies, regular users. Nobody wants one company owning that. He pointed to the LEI, the existing ID system for legal entities, as a promising base. They recently published a report on it, and @chainlink is connecting its systems to theirs. 4. So what’s left for humans? Depends on how good the AI is. His example was shoes again. He usually buys his at 50% off. If the AI finds them at 60% off, why would he ever step in? You treat it like your best employee. You give them more work because they’ve earned it. Then he admitted he might turn into a drooling idiot who can’t do anything, and hoped he’d use the free time to read more books. 5. Where the money goes Elon Musk said money will look totally different by 2036. Sergey thinks that’s a fair date. His reasoning is simple. Digital versions of cash, stocks and funds are growing into a second system next to the old one. The old rails are rigid and won’t change much. The new one only gets better. AI takes the path of least resistance, so it’ll walk down the new one. Behind the scenes, banks are making digital versions of their deposits. Digital dollars like @tether and @circle keep growing. He said Tether already gives people in emerging markets a way to hold dollars without a bank account, and he put the value at tens of billions of dollars. Central banks don’t agree with each other. Europe and the Middle East lean in. The US says no. The messy part is getting all of these to swap with each other. A weak bank’s digital deposit isn’t the same risk as a strong bank’s, or a central bank’s, or a fintech’s. Nobody has fully figured out how to price that. He said that’s what Chainlink is working on now. ethereum:0x514910771af9ca656af840dff83e8264ecf986ca

A fund token that trades on several blockchains is hard to lend against if each chain shows a different price for it. Tokenized funds need one authoritative net asset value that every chain can read, and DTCC has already tested how to deliver it. In its Smart NAV pilot, published in May 2024, DTCC took the fund price and rate data it already distributes through its Mutual Fund Profile Service and sent it across blockchains using Chainlink CCIP. Ten firms took part, among them JPMorgan, BNY Mellon, State Street and Franklin Templeton. DTCC stayed the source and governor of the data, CCIP carried it across chains, and clients could pull historical prices without manual recordkeeping. That split suits institutions, because the incumbent keeps authority over the number and Chainlink carries it everywhere it is needed. Each new fund that moves onchain adds demand for that distribution layer. Asset managers including BlackRock and Fidelity are speaking at Link:NYC on October 29. Watch the livestream on Chainlink's official channels from 9:45 AM ET, 21:45 in Taipei, via chain.link/events/linknyc 3 days until Link:NYC.
