John is the best storyteller….
“You never know what’s going to bother you”
how true
Ex-CIA officer John Kiriakou tells Theo Von how a red motorcycle helmet exposed the man following him in Pakistan and talks about “The Ultimate Guide to CIA Skills, Tactics, and Techniques”.
Theo Von: Is there a basic skill from your book that we can notice about people?
John Kiriakou: The part I'm proudest of is surveillance and surveillance detection. I became a surveillance instructor at the CIA. When I was in Pakistan, staying at a 14-room guest house, I noticed a guy on a motorcycle trying hard to stay in my blind spot. The only reason I noticed him was his red helmet, and nobody in Pakistan wore one. I sped up, he sped up. I slowed down, he slowed down. I changed lanes, he changed lanes.
Kiriakou: At the CIA, surveillance means multiple sightings at time and distance. When I left the diplomatic quarter that evening, he was on me again. The next morning I got up at 5:00, took a different route and checked under my car with a mirror on a pole. Two blocks later, he was on me again.
Kiriakou: I told the security officer I was 100% sure. When the chief came in, he said, "You know what you have to do. You never popped your cherry that way, did you? Shoot somebody?" I said I'd never needed to. He said, "We'll have teams out there. Don't worry."
Kiriakou: That afternoon I had a meeting at a safe house we shared with Pakistani intelligence. On my way out, I turned to a general and said, "Are you following me? Because I'm under surveillance, and I'm going to kill the guy this afternoon." He said, "No, it's not us."
Kiriakou: I never saw the guy again. Weeks later, I heard a group of them were sitting around, and one said, "Kiriakou is a nice guy, but nobody's that nice. He's probably being nice to trick us. He's probably spying on us." I wasn't. So they put the worst surveillance officer in the Pakistani intelligence service on me, right in my blind spot. If I hadn't stopped to ask, that guy wouldn't be alive today. I was going to kill him that afternoon.
Theo: Dang, John, about to pop off.
A red helmet gave the tail away, and the only reason he was there was that someone decided nobody's that nice.

Truly remarkable!
WHAT a voice; what a performer…
♥️Aretha
My late mother was a professional opera singer, whose favorite aria was Nessun Dorma.
Anyway, we watched the 1998 Grammy Awards together because her favorite opera singer, Luciana Pavorotti was scheduled to sing, but at the last minute, he had to cancel due to a sore throat, and with a half hour notice, Aretha Franklin agreed to step in and sing, even though it wasn't her key, and she had no time to rehearse.
This brought the audience to tears.
Watch this amazing performance by the Queen of Soul.

Somebody rehome him ffs , he's a belter 👊🏻
I've already got 2 dugs or would definately consider rehoming him
This handsome lad is still waiting for a new home.
Can you please share?
Teddy is a 5 year old male Mastiff mix - he is available and looking for a new home.
He eats Ava sensitive skin and stomach mix from Pets at Home.
Teddy is good in the car but only use to short journeys.
He sleeps in the kitchen at night but would sometimes also sleep in his owners bed.
He is registered with the vets and can be left on his own if you need to go out.
Teddy is a big boy, he may knock small kids over, so he would suit a home with older dog savvy kids 10+.
He loves people and is good once he gets a clap, but he is wary of men wearing hats.
Teddy walks well on the lead and he use to go walking with a dog walker and was fine.
Teddy loves a ball rope, he likes to chew on the rope until it's untied.
He likes treats.
There isn't much that Teddy doesn't like, however he doesn't like the sound of metal/shutter noise as he got a fright when he was a puppy.
Teddy loves lying in bed under the covers. He would be best in a home with no other pets or cats.
He isn't really fussed by other dogs when he is out walking.
Teddy knows basic commands.
For more information or to offer Teddy a new home please email [email protected]
Sorry we are unable to accept messages to the page regarding pets for rehoming, please email the address above.

This seems like a great time to reshare my favourite Sir Patrick Stewart performance, ‘What has the ECHR ever done for us?’ It’s just perfect in every possible way … including the ending 😂😂😂 RIP.

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course.
He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later.
By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart.
He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother.
Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother.
An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform.
He never stopped and left school at 15.
By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that.
In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard.
Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth.
You’ve probably heard that part.
Here’s the part you haven’t:
He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence.
But he never stopped trying to understand his father.
He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock.
He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours.
He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him.
So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans.
In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence.
He asked, “My dear, are you okay?”
Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.”
At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him.
2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait.
He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.”
After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows.
He played every character himself and donated every cent.
In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers.
In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring.
She was his first dog in more than 50 years.
He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family.
Then he kept fostering more.
When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives.
So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time.
Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

THIS IS WHAT PURE, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE LOOKS LIKE! ❤️
Two bikers were taking a break in a beautiful, scenic valley when they spotted a dog almost a kilometre away.
They simply whistled, and look what happened! ❤️
The dog came running towards them, full of excitement, happiness and trust.
He had NEVER met them. He didn't know who they were. Yet, one small gesture of affection was enough for him to trust two complete strangers.
Just imagine how much love these innocent, voiceless souls carry in their hearts.
They ask for so little. A little kindness, a gentle touch, a moment of affection.
Please be kind to animals. Their ability to trust and love humans, even without knowing them, is something we should never take for granted.❤️

There are some disgusting individuals in politics, but doubt none so more than MICHAEL GOVE?
A scourge on the human race this genocide supporter!
Leaked Israeli documents reveal how Benjamin Netanyahu's government waged a secret campaign to stop boycotts of Israel in Britain.
That included a "sensitive" meeting with Michael Gove -- when he was justice secretary in 2015 -- about countering the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement.
Israel’s lobbying campaign was led by its justice minister Ayelet Shaked, who met Gove in London in November 2015.
Shaked, from the far-right Jewish Home party, was alarmed by a European Commission plan to label goods produced on illegally occupied Palestinian land as originating from an “Israeli settlement”.
The issue was consequently high on Shaked’s agenda, with the Israeli government fearing that the labels would help pro-Palestine boycott campaigns.
Gove “enjoyed” meeting Shaked and specifically requested “more information” from the Israeli embassy on the labelling issue, the leaked emails show.
Israel’s foreign ministry then arranged for an analysis to be prepared for Gove “as soon as possible” on the imminent EU measures.
“I am aware of the workload, but there is an unusual window of opportunity here”, noted one Israeli official, apparently referring to Gove’s openness to guidance.
