The Titans are well aware of what they're trading.
Jeffery Simmons leads all NFL DTs in pressures, even though he plays for a team that's played most of its 7 games from behindāthey failed to even take a lead at any point of three of those games. He's a rare player.

Jeffery Simmons solidifies the Bears as a Super Bowl contender this year but also beyond.
These Bears players are under contract in 2027, too:
- Thuney, Jackson, Wright
- Odunze, Burden, Loveland, Kmet
- Gordon, Thieneman, Muhammad, Bryant
- And, oh yeah, Caleb Williams

Cannot overstate how big the Simmons addition is for Chicago's defense. Their non-Jarrett DTs were a complete waste of space. Taking those guys off the field for a bunch of snaps has immense value before you even factor in that Simmons is one of the best DTs in the NFL.

The Bearsā Super Bowl window is wide open with Jeffery Simmons in the fold. Heās a multiplier who bolsters this defense ā a bet worth taking because of Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson connecting together.

The Bears trading two 1s for *the* best DT is so much better than the Colts trading two 1s for one of the best CBs. Easy to argue a pass-rushing DT is the most valuable defensive player.

The BTS of how the Jeffery Simmons deal came together, according to multiple league sources.
Having checked in with the Titans several times over the last couple weeks, the message was heās not available. But this is a reminder, as one team said: āEveryone has a price.ā
The reality is that these two GMs ā Mike Borgonzi and Ryan Poles ā know each other from their days together in Kansas City.
The Bears, according to multiple sources, made a push for DeForest Buckner as well, but didnāt feel comfortable with the draft capital Indy wanted.
Instead, they then pivoted to arguably the best DT in football in Simmons, with the feeling that he changes the entire complexion of the defense and makes them a bona fide Super Bowl threat.
After hearing from as many as 3 other teams inquiring on Simmons, the Titans simply felt that Chicagoās offer had reached a price where āwe could not say no anymore.ā
Thatās when this thing became serious, and thatās why it happened so quickly.

Yeah I love this trade for the Bears. I get the price tag is steep, but the offense for Chicago is both Super Bowl caliber and very cheap rn. While you got the QB, TE and both WRs on rookie deals, go take the big swing and try and win right now before everyone gets pricey
