📢 CHANDIGARH SENIOR CITIZENS: A CALL FOR UNITY AND JUSTICE! Chandigarh Estate Lawful Property Holders Organisation of Senior Citizens (CELPHOSC) appeals to all senior citizens and residents of Chandigarh to unite in defence of their legitimate property rights. As protests over Chandigarh's share-wise property issue are being planned in Delhi, why should Chandigarh residents remain silent? We propose that senior citizens of Chandigarh organise a peaceful march, in solidarity with the wider movement demanding justice for property owners. Elderly property owners have endured prolonged uncertainty, financial hardship, mental stress and health-related suffering during the most vulnerable years of their lives. At an age when they deserve peace, dignity and security, they are being compelled to struggle for their legitimate property rights. This is not merely a property dispute. It is a question of justice, elderly welfare, human dignity and the right to live peacefully in one's own home. CELPHOSC appeals to all senior citizens, Residents' Welfare Associations, property owners and concerned citizens of Chandigarh to come together. Younger residents, families and all those who believe in protecting the lawful property rights of Chandigarh residents are equally welcome to join this peaceful movement. Our demand is simple: Revoke the restrictions on share-wise sale of residential properties and ensure a fair, transparent, lawful and lasting resolution of Chandigarh's property rights issue, with particular consideration for the hardships faced by senior citizens. Let us unite peacefully, lawfully and with one voice. The date and venue of the proposed march may be finalised through consultation with residents and participating organisations, subject to necessary permissions. LET CHANDIGARH SPEAK! OUR PROPERTY, OUR RIGHTS, OUR DIGNITY! @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @AmitShah @narendramodi @BJP4India @INCIndia #CELPHOSC #ChandigarhPropertyRights #ShareWiseProperty #ChandigarhSeniorCitizens #JusticeForSeniorCitizens #PropertyRights #SaveChandigarh #SeniorCitizensRights #ChandigarhResidents #PeacefulProtest #ElderlyDignity #ChandigarhHousing #RightToProperty #JusticeForPropertyOwners #Chandigarh

AWAKE, CHANDIGARH! HOW LONG WILL RESIDENTS SUFFER IN SILENCE? Chandigarh’s share-wise property sale ban is not merely a property dispute. It is a serious assault on the financial security, dignity and future of ordinary residents. Senior citizens cannot freely monetise their lifelong savings. Retired people struggle with medical expenses, unpaid loans and family responsibilities while their most valuable asset remains effectively locked. Estranged families remain trapped in jointly owned properties. Family disputes deepen, relationships deteriorate and elderly owners are denied peace during their remaining years. Children cannot easily realise their inheritance. Families needing money for education, marriage, healthcare or relocation face enormous difficulties. Buyers are discouraged, genuine transactions suffer and property owners lose bargaining power. Meanwhile, property prices on Chandigarh’s outskirts have reportedly multiplied. Why should neighbouring areas enjoy freedoms denied to Chandigarh residents? **Who benefits from this restriction? Equally disturbing is the laziness, inaction and indifference of Chandigarh’s lethargic residents, timid business community, silent RWAs and complacent bureaucrats. Where are the journalists and newspapers that should be highlighting this continuing hardship? AWAKE, CHANDIGARH! Stop hiding behind WhatsApp discussions and drawing-room complaints. Organise a peaceful Jantar Mantar-style mass movement. We demand a lawful, workable solution restoring share-wise property sale rights, with appropriate planning safeguards. Not another round of excuses. @HMOIndia @AmitShah @AmitShahOffice @narendramodi @chandigarh_admn @htTweets @timesofindia #Chandigarh #ShareWiseSale #PropertyRights #SeniorCitizens #WakeUpChandigarh

The Chandigarh Administration must stop treating the share-wise property sale ban as merely a property dealers’ issue. It is a humanitarian crisis affecting an estimated 25,000+ families, with many more likely to suffer as family partitions and estranged relationships increase. Property dealers are not the real victims. Residents who invested their lifetime savings are. Senior citizens are particularly devastated, trapped in properties they cannot independently sell, deprived of financial security and peace of mind. Many feel emotionally buried while still alive. This is not a dispute about property dealing. It is about property rights, dignity, inheritance and the freedom to live one's remaining years without helplessness. @HMOIndia @PMOIndia @BJP4Chandigarh #Chandigarh #ShareWiseSale #SeniorCitizens #PropertyRights #ChandigarhAdministration #JusticeForResidents #CELPHOSC

CELPHOSC – Chandigarh Estate Lawful Property Holders Organisation of Senior Citizens Chandigarh's share-wise property restrictions are causing immense suffering to senior citizens, especially those from estranged families. At 60, 70 or 80+, elderly property owners face bitter family disputes, financial hardship, medical emergencies, forced dependence on hostile relatives and endless litigation. Many own property worth crores yet cannot independently realise the value of their lawful shares to meet medical expenses, repay debts or secure a peaceful retirement. Their remaining years are being consumed by mental agony, uncertainty and broken family relationships. This is not merely a property issue. It is a question of dignity, financial independence and justice for elderly citizens. We urge the Chandigarh Administration to urgently address these hardships and provide a lawful solution. CHANDIGARH MC ELECTIONS: PROPERTY RIGHTS AND PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY CANNOT BE IGNORED. Since 9 February 2023, restrictions on share-wise sale of residential property have left countless Chandigarh families struggling to unlock liquidity from their own lawful assets. In Chandigarh's Phase I and Phase II sectors, affected shareholders have endured prolonged financial uncertainty, delayed marriages, medical difficulties, mounting debts and disrupted retirement plans. Houses worth crores have become symbols of financial helplessness. For many residents, this is not merely a property dispute. It is years of mental anguish and lost opportunities. Chandigarh is a Union Territory, and the Union Home Ministry, Chandigarh Administration and elected representatives must answer serious questions about their handling of this prolonged controversy. As the Municipal Corporation elections approach, residents deserve clear answers from the BJP and every other political party: Will they support a legally sound mechanism for share-wise property sales? What concrete steps will they take, and by when? The issue is not the preservation of Chandigarh's architectural character, which residents respect. It is whether that objective can be achieved without indefinitely restricting the financial rights of lawful property owners. After nearly four years, promises are no substitute for action. Public office carries public accountability. Let every candidate explain their position openly. Let affected families stand together in demanding fairness, transparency and a lasting resolution. A city cannot prosper while its residents remain prisoners of their own assets. @AmitShah @Gulab_kataria @ManishTewari @BJP4Chandigarh @SanjayTandonBJP @chandigarh_admn #SharewiseSaleChandigarh #ChandigarhMCElections #RightToProperty #ChandigarhControversy #PublicAccountability #UnlockLiquidity #LetChandigarhLiveAgain

CHANDIGARH'S PROPERTY OWNERS DESERVE JUSTICE, NOT ENDLESS SUFFERING. After nearly four years of financial hardship, uncertainty and mental anguish, it is time for the Chandigarh Administration to withdraw its deeply contested restrictions on the share-wise sale of residential property. Since 9 February 2023, these restrictions have effectively locked enormous liquidity in privately owned assets, leaving thousands of residents struggling to access their own hard-earned wealth. Families have faced mounting debts, postponed marriages, delayed education, medical emergencies and shattered retirement plans. Properties worth crores have become financially inaccessible to their lawful owners. What greater administrative injustice can there be than forcing citizens to remain wealthy on paper while struggling to meet life's most urgent needs? The Administration must reconsider its disputed legal interpretation and adopt a lawful, fair mechanism that protects Chandigarh's architectural character without financially imprisoning its residents. Enough of prolonged uncertainty and mental suffering. Restore fairness. Unlock liquidity. Let Chandigarh live again. @AmitShah @Gulab_kataria @HinaRohtaki @ManishTewari @chandigarh_admn #SharewiseSaleChandigarh #RightToProperty #ChandigarhControversy #PropertyRights #AdministrativeAccountability

DELHI'S STREETS FACED A LOCKDOWN. CHANDIGARH'S PROPERTY OWNERS HAVE FACED AN ASSET-SALE LOCKDOWN SINCE 9 FEBRUARY 2023. The police restrictions and detentions surrounding the Jantar Mantar protests on 10 October 2026 brought back disturbing memories of the COVID lockdown. Yet Chandigarh residents have been enduring another form of confinement for over three and a half years: restrictions on the share-wise sale of their own residential property. The Chandigarh Administration's policy has effectively locked enormous liquidity in privately owned assets. Hundreds of families face delayed life milestones, postponed marriages, mounting debts, medical expenses and financial uncertainty. The wider issue concerns a city with an estimated five lakh property stakeholders. No barricades. No police vans. No detention centres. Yet property assets remain virtually detained, leaving their lawful owners financially imprisoned. The Administration's disputed interpretation of the Supreme Court judgment dated 10 January 2023 has created prolonged uncertainty over share-wise property transactions. For affected families, the consequences go far beyond an administrative inconvenience. This is experienced as prolonged mental cruelty, silently inflicted through restrictions that prevent families from accessing their own hard-earned wealth. After more than 60 years of living in Chandigarh, it is painful to witness a beautiful city where property worth crores can become a source of helplessness rather than financial security. Delhi's restrictions were visible on the streets. Chandigarh's property-sale restrictions have quietly entered people's homes, disrupted their futures and held their financial aspirations hostage. A city cannot claim progress while its residents remain prisoners of their own assets. The Chandigarh Administration must urgently address this hardship and restore a legally sound, fair mechanism for share-wise property sales. Let Chandigarh live again. @chandigarh_admn @ManishTewari @BJP4Chandigarh @bjp4chd @SanjayTandonBJP @righttoproperty #SharewiseSaleChandigarh #ChandigarhControversy #RightToProperty #JantarMantar #BBC #CNN #TheGuardian #AlJazeera #DeutscheWelle #FinancialTimes #Democracy

FROM DELHI'S BARRICADES TO CHANDIGARH'S SILENT SUFFERING: A WARNING AGAINST ADMINISTRATIVE ARROGANCE The Delhi protest carries a message far beyond Jantar Mantar. Barricades may prevent people from assembling, but they cannot extinguish public resentment. The international attention surrounding the protest is a reminder that unresolved grievances can eventually become a question of democratic accountability. The Chandigarh Administration would do well to read this message before public frustration turns into a larger movement. Restrictions on share-wise sale of residential property have effectively locked crores of rupees in privately owned assets. Families with lawful ownership interests remain financially helpless, sometimes unable to meet medical expenses, repay debts or fulfil urgent obligations. What kind of governance allows citizens to own property worth crores but denies them a practical means of accessing its value? After 53 years in Chandigarh, I find it deeply disturbing that a city celebrated for its architecture has become a place where administrative rigidity threatens financial independence and human dignity. Delhi offers a lesson: Public silence should never be mistaken for public consent. Nor should administrative power be confused with public trust. With Municipal Corporation and Parliamentary elections ahead, Chandigarh's political leadership must recognise that unresolved injustice carries consequences beyond the ballot box. People may tolerate inconvenience, but indefinite financial captivity is another matter. The real strength of an administration lies not in its ability to impose restrictions, but in its willingness to correct them before public resentment becomes irreversible. Chandigarh does not need another confrontation between citizens and authority. It needs a fair, lawful and humane resolution. Unlock liquidity. Restore property rights. End administrative arbitrariness. Let Chandigarh live again. @chandigarh_admn @ManishTewari @BJP4Chandigarh @bjp4chd @SanjayTandonBJP @righttoproperty #SharewiseSaleChandigarh #ChandigarhControversy #RightToProperty #JantarMantar #BBC #CNN #TheGuardian #AlJazeera #DeutscheWelle #FinancialTimes #Democracy

For 53 years, Chandigarh has been my home. Today, it increasingly feels like a city where property ownership exists on paper, but financial freedom remains trapped behind administrative restrictions. The Chandigarh Administration’s stance on share-wise sale of property has locked liquidity in citizens’ own assets, leaving families unable to realise the value of their hard-earned wealth, even in times of financial distress. With the next Municipal Corporation and Parliamentary elections ahead, the BJP faces a crucial test of public trust. At a time of growing public discontent across the country, can any political party afford to ignore the legitimate grievances of Chandigarh residents? A city cannot remain beautiful on the outside while its residents feel financially imprisoned within their own homes. Restore fairness. Restore property rights. Unlock liquidity.
