My key observations at the New Delhi Roundtable on Space, organised by #Bloomberg New Economy Forum: "India’s Space economy, currently valued at around USD 9 billion, is expected to reach USD 40–45 billion over the next seven to eight years. There are progressively increasing private investments seen following the "unlocking" of the Space sector by PM Sh @NarendraModi. India’s experience demonstrates the potential of bringing government institutions and private industry together in a sector that requires substantial technological expertise, investment and long-term commitment. The priority now is to convert these capabilities into commercially viable businesses with the scale to compete internationally. India’s Space programme is distinguished not only by its achievements in Space but also by the extensive use of Space technology on Earth. Satellite communications, geospatial applications and Earth observation are supporting infrastructure development, project monitoring, agriculture, disaster management and defence".

Launched the redeveloped Websites of the Department of Science & Technology #DST and the Ministry of Science & Technology. The new websites are citizen-friendly based on the principle of citizen-first, multilingual in 22 languages, and offer a single-window platform for research grants, fellowships, scientific schemes as well as opportunities for students, researchers, StartUps, common citizens etc. The redesigned information architecture enables users to locate relevant information more efficiently, including eligibility criteria, application guidelines, calls for proposals, awards, results and official notifications. By bringing these resources together in a structured format, the portals aim to reduce the effort required to navigate government information and strengthen public participation in India’s science and technology ecosystem. The initiative advances a more inclusive and citizen-centric digital environment, and embodies PM Sh @NarendraModi’s vision of “Science by the People, Science for the People”.

Walked around the Special #Swachhata Campaign 5.0 cleanliness drive at the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (#DARPG), accompanied by Secretary DARPG, Smt. Nivedita Shukla Verma. Appreciated the dedicated effort undertaken in identifying electronic scrap for recycling and vacating nearly 1500 sq. meters of junk-occupied space on a single floor, quite in line with PM Sh @narendramodi Ji’s emphasis on promoting cleaner workplaces and better space utilisation.

My Address at the 85th Foundation Day celebrations of the "Council of Scientific and Industrial Research" #CSIR at C. R. Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi. Key Takeaways: "CSIR is among the few institutions that have led India’s post-independence journey, having come into existence in 1942, before the country became independent. The organisation represents a rich scientific legacy built over more than eight decades and has developed capabilities across a wide range of domains. And therefore, the challenge before CSIR is to live up to this legacy by continuously renewing its scientific and technological work according to the current and futuristic requirements of the country. The success stories emanating from different CSIR institutes have increasingly become associated with the identity of the State or UT where they exist. CSIR’s contributions range from leather technologies and jewellery to healthcare, agriculture, road technologies, Aroma Mission, food technology and aerospace. Last one decade, led by CSIR President Sh @narendramodi , witnessed increased visibility of scientific achievements and their connect with citizens. The work in the CSIR labs was happening earlier also, but its success stories are now reaching the people for whom they are meant. For 2047, we aim at technological sovereignty, which is crucial to national sovereignty".

85th Foundation Day Celebrations of #CSIR: Inaugurated and did a walkaround of the Exhibition showcasing wide range of technologies developed by #CSIR institutes/labs across the country and the technology support provided to StartUps. Another important highlight of the Foundation Day celebrations was a special “SciArt” exhibition, whose unique feature was paintings by eminent scientists themselves, depicting various science related phenomena through creative illustrations.

European Parliament Committee delegation on Industry, Research & Energy (ITRE), led by Angelika Winzig from Austria and Raffaele Stancanelli, called on at Kartavya Bhavan. The delegation held a wide range discussion, with focus on effective implementation of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and deeper cooperation with the European Union in science, technology, research and, critical and emerging technologies. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Angelika Winzig thanked for the meeting and said that India is a key strategic partner for the European Union. She said the delegation’s visit was aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of India’s industrial and technology policies and identifying areas for closer cooperation. She referred to shared interests in strengthening industrial competitiveness, ensuring secure and resilient critical supply chains, and advancing the green and digital transitions, while welcoming continued dialogue between India and the European Parliament on these issues. The Indian side gave a brief about the @narendramodi government's research and innovation priorities, and the vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, with greater focus on high-impact research, translation of research into technologies and products, and increased industry participation. There was a mention of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the EUR 10 billion Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) initiative, aimed at catalysing high-risk, high-impact research and nurturing deep-tech startups. India-EU strategic partnership offers significant opportunities for closer collaboration in areas of mutual priority, with science and research forming an integral part of the partnership. Invited greater India-EU cooperation in frontier and emerging areas including Artificial Intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced materials, biotechnology and semiconductors, besides high-performance computing and next-generation telecommunications, including 6G.

Beyond the last wave, the mission continues. At Swaraj Dweep, #SwachhSagarSurakshitSagar 5.0 turns commitment into action, protecting our shores and keeping our oceans clean, right to the deepest ebb.
