Under the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative of CSIR-IMTECH, a two-day hands-on training program on basic animal cell culture techniques was successfully held from October 22–23, 2026. The program featured a comprehensive combination of theoretical lectures and practical sessions, providing participants with fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience in animal cell culture techniques. Dr. Ashish Kumar Dubey, Senior Project Associate, guided the trainees through essential cell culture methods, including cell revival and passaging, cell counting and seeding, microscopic observation, and cryopreservation. Dr. Neeraj Khatri, Coordinator of the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative, emphasized the importance of hands-on learning in enhancing participants’ understanding of cell culture principles and develop their practical skills in laboratory procedures. Heartiest congratulations to Ms. Harshita Srikrishna, daughter of CSIR-IMTECH’s Scientist 'G', Dr. Srikrishna Subramanian, for her outstanding achievement. A Class 11 student of DPS, Sector 40, Chandigarh, Harshita has been recognized among the Top 60 innovations in the country for her practical device designed to prevent storm drain blockages and reduce waterlogging during the rainy season. Her remarkable scientific approach was celebrated at the winners’ felicitation ceremony for the 12th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) of INSPIRE–MANAK, which successfully concluded on 14th October 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. She received her prize directly from the Hon'ble Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh.
