Can ketamine’s antidepressant effects be tracked via brain signal complexity? 🧠 In this study, #EEG from Starstim (neuroelectrics.com/products/…) recorded changes in bipolar patients: ↓low-freq, ↑high-freq, flatter spectra & more entropy.

This work represents a true collaborative effort, and I'm deeply grateful to the SiBIN lab led by Simone Rossi, the team of psychiatrists of the Università di Siena led by my mentor Andrea Fagiolini, and all our fantastic colleagues.
Most importantly, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the patients who made this study possible! Link to the full article:

Excited to share our preprint on psychedelics & neuroplasticity, a project initiated alongside the brilliant Meg Spriggs and an incredible team of colleagues!

Importantly, we also consider key parameters—such as dose, timing of administration, and measurement techniques—when comparing results across studies and compounds.
We hope this contribution inspires hypothesis-driven research to bridge the translational gap and advance our understanding of this exciting field of research.

It was an amazing experience to present the results of my PhD work at the @ASSC27tokyo conference in Tokyo and to connect with such an exciting community of researchers. I am thankful to all my collaborators and supervisors who made this work possible!"
1/ We are delighted to present our latest research led by the great @VitoPal11 ! The study involved an in-depth analysis of the chemical and physical properties of various tryptamines to assess their ability to penetrate cellular membranes. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs….
6/ Furthermore, the substitution of -OH at position 4, peculiar to the classic psychedelic psilocin, increases permeability compared to substitution at position 5, as seen in serotonin.
7/ This innovative methodology provides a precise means of predicting membrane permeability with implications for future drug development. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
