It is extremely sad that this didn't end up as an example of how the labs could cooperate/coordinate, because the stakes will be so much higher in the future.

Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

for all the sonnet enjoyers:))
Replying to @claudeai
Sonnet 4.6 has improved on benchmarks across the board. It approaches Opus-level intelligence at a price point that makes it practical for far more tasks.

Documenting and sharing research in real-time is underrated in discussions about open science. @jainhiya_ and I think software can help change problem selection, collaboration, and funding. We write about how and why we should create real-time, open lab notebooks.

Chinese policy on clinical trial approvals liberalized massively in the mid 2010s. A decade later the effects of this move are perceptible in where our drugs come from.

Arrived in Singapore for ICLR—excited to see old & new friends! I’ll also be at the: - Thursday 3:30-5pm main conference poster session, presenting work led by @CadeGordonML on the subtleties of using protein LM likelihoods for fitness prediction (see 🔗👇) - GEM workshop presenting our all-atom latent diffusion work with @nc_frey @KevinKaichuang @wilson1yan & others (unrelatedly, I’ve never been so infatuated with an airport before…check out this gradient descent sculpture)

A simple idea to build the @UCBerkeley startup alumni network has grown beyond my wildest dreams into #AccelScholars, a tight-knit community of the most ambitious, talented, kind-hearted people, whose individual stories we’ve been fortunate to support for the past eight years

We are announcing Open Thoughts, our large-scale open-source effort to curate the best open reasoning datasets! DeepSeek-R1 is amazing but we still don't have access to high-quality open reasoning datasets. These datasets are crucial if you want to build your reasoning models! Bespoke Labs released a 17k reasoning dataset last Wednesday, and the reception has been phenomenal (it's trending on HF). So we are joining forces with the Datacomp community to launch Open Thoughts --- an open data, open model, and open code initiative for creating the best open reasoning datasets and the associated models. Along with this, we release OpenThoughts-114k reasoning dataset and the associated OpenThinker-7B model. Links to the code, model, and data are below in 🧵.

GENERATIVE HUMANIZATION FOR THERAPEUTIC ANTIBODIES 1. Introduced a novel framework reframing antibody humanization as a conditional generative modeling task, leveraging masked language models (MLMs) trained on human antibody data to produce diverse, humanized sequences with reduced immunogenicity risk. 2. Demonstrated that the generative humanization method enriches therapeutic attributes like binding affinity and thermostability through guided sampling, outperforming traditional and deterministic approaches. 3. Validated the approach in silico and in lab settings, showing that the model generates multiple candidates with superior antigen binding compared to baseline methods, such as Sapiens and manual humanization. 4. Employed guided sampling with a “product of experts” approach, integrating humanness metrics and oracle-predicted properties like binding affinity, resulting in highly humanized antibodies that retain or improve therapeutic properties. 5. Highlighted the flexibility of the method, enabling iterative optimization campaigns where therapeutic attributes are progressively enhanced while maintaining high humanness. 6. Provided experimental results showing guided sampling surpasses unguided approaches in generating candidates with both high humanness and improved binding affinity, validated through high-throughput lab measurements. 7. Introduced structure-guided sampling for scenarios lacking specific attribute oracles, leveraging structural predictors to maintain antigen binding properties while humanizing antibody sequences. 8. Positioned the approach as a transformative method for accelerating the development of antibody therapies, reducing immunogenicity risks while optimizing therapeutic efficacy. @peytongreenside @CadeGordonML @BigHatBio 📜Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2412.04737 #TherapeuticAntibodies #AntibodyHumanization #GenerativeModeling #Bioinformatics #AI #DrugDevelopment

Despite staggering amounts of data, when it comes to understanding biology, we still see through a glass, darkly. As a first step towards elucidation, we at Markov built a virtual cell and tools to peer inside, probe, and perturb its mind, allowing us to better understand it.

OpenCLIP passed 10K stars on GitHub this week. A big milestone for any open-source project. 🍻 to the many collaborators that made that possible. Coincidentally, I pushed a new release with a port of the largest multi-lingual SigLIP -- a SO400M/16 @ 256x256 that appeared on big_vision a little while back. Now on the @huggingface hub and useable via timm or OpenCLIP (update your timm too)! huggingface.co/timm/ViT-SO40…
