We need sustainable transport! Well done @fmwales for choosing #NoNewM4. This road across the wildlife-rich Gwent Levels would've increased traffic & emissions.

Is the Welsh Government right to scrap all plans for work to increase capacity the M4 on the stretch through south Wales? walesonline.co.uk/news/wales…

Hahaha - it turns out that there were plans to build a station at St Mellons long before @HendreLakes made out that it was all their own idea and that there would need to be a 'business district' to justify it. This is from the 1880s.

WHAT????!!! Have we learned nothing about the benefits of green space for mental and physical health? It's 2022, guys. Let's stop turning the world into one big car park. How about better public transport and then people won't need so many cars?
Green space could be used to solve Ty-Sign parking problems southwalesargus.co.uk/news/1…

Here are two beauties you might see on a daily basis on the Gwent Levels - the elusive Cetti's warbler and the even more elusive water rail. But they're under constant threat from speculative development. Join us to help protect them. gwentlevels.org.uk

You can read the full issues with the UK Government approach to rail funding in their thread here: xitter.cf/WillHayCardiff/status/…
Today I approached the UK Government to ask them to explain how HS2 actually benefits Wales. I have to say, the response was pathetic. It just showed how they simply don't understand the sheer extent to which Wales is missing out. Let me explain. [Thread]

Congrats to ⁦@SaveStonehenge⁩. I’m sure fellow-supporters of our ⁦@CalmCampaign⁩ which helped stop the M4 bypass destroying the Gwent Levels will be equally delighted. BW for the ultimate victory of your campaign. Thank you to the Judges too. bbc.com/news/uk-england-wilt…

Well done @Amanwy. What @CalmCampaign & @CPRW_UK had been seeking since the unaffordable, climate & landscape- damaging M4 hangover project from the 20th century was rightly stopped by the FM 2 yrs ago ! Great if next step is a wildlife corridor & walking route across the Levels
A legal notice that protected the M4 relief road route from development has been scrapped bbc.in/3wKuCKg

Great idea! @WGClimateChange it’d be a real positive to come out of all the wrangling over the #M4 if we could now do something positive for nature & people on the Gwent Levels @JulieJamesMS @Amanwy @GwentLevels @CalmCampaign #NoMoreM4 #ReviveOurWorld @ourlivinglevels

I’d like my kids to have got to school like this They’d have liked to cycle in a large group too, it’s social & feels safer In a large group, I’d have been more likely to let them Large groups of kids cycling to school together, organised or not, seems a very good thing to me

This confirms the correctness of the @fmwales @VOGCouncil @KenSkates4MS @Amanwy decision to drop ill conceived plans for the A48/M4 ‘link’ road through Pendoylan @futuregencymru bbc.co.uk/news/business-5701…

Can anyone guess which party doesn't support protection for one of Wales' National Natural Resources? Which party is happy to see Sites of Special Scientific Interest covered in tarmac - @CalmCampaign?
Thanks to Linda Rogers of @WalesGreenParty and @POG1978 of @Plaid_Cymru for supporting our pledge in their #Senedd2021 campaigns. We've had support from all the main parties except one...
It’s not just the ££ cost Not just that we need more public transport use and less road use The Tories Plan for the M4 will also cost us the Gwent Levels @CalmCampaign
Tory con on roads. Across Wales, Tory candidates are saying they'll spend £2 billion on roads. What they don't say to voters in mid and north Wales is that 80% of this will go on just 14 miles of motorway in SE Wales - leaving peanuts for other areas. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-4944…

Happy #EarthDay2021 We have been changing the world for millennia; without humans amazing habitats like the #GwentLevels wouldn’t exist. But the Levels are at risk, sea level rise predictions show we will loose this habitat by 2050. We need to act now to #RestoreOurEarth

The world is slowly waking up to the truth of the old adage: "Build a mile of new motorway and you build two miles of new traffic jams". Maybe @WelshConserv atives, you should wake up to it too. @CalmCampaign #nonewroads
Hey, @AndrewRTDavies - building an M4 relief road doesn’t relieve traffic. It increases it. The largest nuclear power in the planet has realised it, so maybe you should too?
THIS IS HUGE: “In effect, the White House has recognized the existence of induced demand, the theory [it’s not a theory, it’s proven] that building more roads leads not to reduced congestion but increased levels of motoring.” Kudos ⁦@SecretaryPete⁩. forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…
