AHS's own staff said?
Pause the surgery-centre deal.
RED FLAGS on the money.
A winner with
"somewhat limited"
Experience.
NO cost advantage.
Then a meeting.
Then the Minister said go.
And one of the owners?
A man who'd left AHS a year earlier.
DUE DILIGENCE, Part 2

Danielle Smith...
Who just proposed a pipeline to Southern BC because of the inherent difficulties in running an oil pipeline to Northern BC and the dangers of the strait...
Now wants the pipeline ban lifted for the strait.
Got it.
Anything to enrage the base...

Money laundering.
Your govt is being investigated for money laundering.
Your money.
This isn’t a govt.
It’s a mob.

Reminder: Mentzelopoulos was investigating Prasad when she was fired.
Prasad left AB government in 2022, for 6 months. Became a private consultant for private medical companies that had AHS contracts and/or were trying to secure them.

Here’s my memory of Shane Getson.
It was 2021, and curiously, many UCP MLAs were not transparent about whether or not they were vaccinated.
I asked Shane Getson if he were vaccinated.
As a UCP MLA he responded:
“Do you have AIDS?”

Here we go: Fraud, breach of trust and money laundering inside the GOA!
Those are the criminal offences now confirmed to be under investigation by the RCMP in connection with procurement practices at Alberta Health and AHS.
This isn’t speculation. It’s in writing, from a Crown prosecutor, in a letter filed with the Alberta courts.
For nearly two years, the UCP government has tried to distract and avoid accountability but they can’t hide forever.
I raised concerns about these contracting practices, and Albertans deserve answers.
The government can continue to deflect and deny, but it cannot avoid a criminal investigation.
Accountability will come calling.

It's Oct 2024.
A media outlet asks AHS what contract it has with MHCare.
Two officials draft this answer.
AHS, "based on a review of payments and contract repository, confirms it does not have any contractual relationship with MHCare Medical or Mr. mraiche personally."
WHAT'S THAT NOW?
The government's own investigator?
Retired judge Raymond Wyant.
"This statement was not true."
Dec 23, 2024?
Alberta Health tells AHS?
"cease any due diligence underway"
On private surgery centres.
Two months.
Two sentences.
One report.
Due Diligence, Part 3
Where This Leaves Us.
Wyant tells us who signed the Dec 23 letter.
And who he acted for.
Wyant doesn't tell us why.
Or what Alberta Health's checking found.
The unsent-letter claim?
Still an allegation.
No government response reported.
Tomorrow?
The $70 million order the reporter was asking about.
Be well. Be loud. Be love.

Alberta added 763,481 people since spring 2019.
That's +17.6%.
Acute care hospital capacity?
On the government's own counts?
520 more.
That's +6.1%.
Oct 24, the Premier?
"We've expanded acute care capacity to the highest level in Alberta's history."
A bigger number.
A smaller share.
Here's the Maths.
In plain language.
AHS: FROM THE BEGINNING, Part D
The biggest bed count in the years I checked (2018 to now)?
9,003, on the government's number.
Fewer beds per person than in 2019:
1.96 then, 1.76 now.
And CIHI's national sort of Alberta's own reports points the same way.
Part E?
How many beds did Alberta have in 1986?
Statistics Canada counted.
The number may surprise you.
Be well. Be loud. Be love.
