The more I watch government function, the less of it I think we need. Mostly here to follow news and entertaining commentary.

I don't think I'm comfortable with that.
“Michigan is the capital of Arab America.” Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed makes the claim during remarks in Washington, D.C., pointing to Michigan’s large Arab American population.

My name is Wick. In 2000, at middle age, I walked away from a steady engineering job and bet everything on building a small aerospace manufacturing company. For six years I worked 18-hour days, seven days a week. My wife and I poured every dollar of profit back into the business—new machines, better inspection tools, more capacity. We were building a real American manufacturing operation from the ground up. We earned Preferred Vendor status with one of Boeing’s major hydraulic suppliers, a Fortune 200 company. For years the relationship felt like a partnership. We kept investing: latest CNC machines, advanced quality systems, a full ERP platform. We adopted every continuous-improvement method they asked for. By 2017 we had become a captive shop. They controlled the schedule, we jumped through every hoop, and almost all of our work was flight-critical high-pressure hydraulic landing-brake components. In July 2025 new management arrived. They canceled every long-term contract, told us our prices were “no longer competitive,” and said if we didn’t like it we could call their lawyers. We soon learned the real reason: they had moved the work to India. Not because of quality problems. Not because of late deliveries. Purely for an immediate price cut. Machinists and quality technicians in India were earning $2.50–$4 an hour. Our people were earning $25–$55. By September 2025 we had laid off more than 30 highly skilled American workers and closed the doors, buried in debt. We filed for bankruptcy. My wife, who had been CEO/COO of our company, took a production-management role at another manufacturer. She led the company-wide integration of a new SAP system, trained every department, and was then assigned to train the machine-shop manager. Three months later—on November 3—they eliminated her position. They no longer needed the “high-priced” person who had just built the system for them. She is now unemployed. I’m nearly 70 and effectively unemployable in the field I spent a quarter-century mastering. We are selling the house we fought to keep and moving, in two weeks, to a far more affordable town in another state. I’m looking for part-time work there. My wife is looking for another manufacturing-management role. We have also filed Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy. We are not voting for socialists or communists who promise “free everything”. We are not giving up. We will keep working. We will keep living. And we will keep believing that the American Dream is still worth fighting for—even when the people who benefit from it decide your work is no longer convenient. 🇺🇸
Every GOP strategist, consultant, and candidate should be forced to participate in a role-playing exercise this morning. Your name is Bob. You’re a 49-year-old blue-collar worker in Ohio. You’ve always struggled to make ends meet. The good jobs were all shipped to China and the few remaining pay a pittance wage, undercut by endless illegal labor. You’re a 3x Trump voter because you believed he would finally make America great again. You put your son through Ohio State. He graduated cum laude in computer science. You couldn’t have been prouder. After months searching, he landed an entry-level job at Microsoft. Beneath his qualifications, but a good start for a smart kid. Then he got laid off. That same month, Microsoft applied for 150,000 more H-1B visas because it can’t find qualified Americans. Your son has spent six months back in his childhood bedroom, sending hundreds of applications without landing an interview. On TV, Trump boasts about the greatest economy in history and how many women and minorities are finding jobs. You decide a father-son steak night might cheer him up. Gas is $4.50 a gallon. Filling your truck costs over $100. At Kroger, ribeyes are $30/lb. You settle for hamburger, even though 70/30 ground beef still costs $10+. At checkout, a fat black woman is screaming at the cashier because her EBT will only cover most of the filet mignon and lobster in her cart. You think to yourself how the Iran war has made everything expensive, but at least we’re stopping their nuclear bomb. You weren’t even sure where Iran was before you googled it after we first bombed them in March. After dinner, you take your son to the county fair. Half the people aren’t speaking English. Virtually none of the crowd looks like you. You’re forced to leave early after a “teen takeover” turns violent. A foreign born judge pledges none of them will go to jail. Back home, you turn on the TV. Vivek Ramaswamy is lecturing the crowd about American mediocrity and why Ohio needs more foreign talent. Your son grows upset. You change the channel. Now a Republican surrogate, the daughter of a governor or wife of an elderly billionaire, explains that young White men are the REAL welfare queens. They’d rather play videogames in their parents’ basements than work. Your son says nothing. He just goes back to his childhood bedroom. You turn off the TV. Then your neighbor starts blasting reggaeton and cracking open Modelos. He brought his cousin’s family from Mexico to help with all the minority-business contracts his construction firm keeps winning. Tonight they’re celebrating his nephew’s birth, the family’s first birthright American citizen. You sit alone in your living room. You worked hard, paid taxes, obeyed the law, and raised your son to do everything right. You voted Republican again and again because you believed somebody in Washington would finally fight for you. Instead, your wages are stagnant. Groceries are unaffordable. Your community is unrecognizable. Your country is fighting another foreign war. And upstairs, the son you sacrificed everything for is lying awake in the bedroom he slept in at twelve, wondering what the heck he’s even supposed to do with his life now. Every time you turn on the TV, the Republicans you elected are either congratulating themselves or explaining why you and your son are the problem. For ten years, they told you America’s future depended on your vote. Now you aren’t even sure America has a future worth defending. The Republican Party needs to answer one simple question this morning: You’ve spent a decade demanding Bob’s loyalty. You’ve given him stagnant wages, unaffordable groceries, another foreign war, and a son who did everything right but can’t find work. And when they complain, you call them lazy, entitled, and racist. What possible reason have you given Bob and his son to vote Republican? Do you honestly think you deserve their vote?

After DOGE, Elon came to a conclusion most people missed. He tried to reform the state from the inside. He failed. And he said it plainly: the government can't fix its own deficit. Nobody in power actually wants to cut. The machine protects itself. So he drew the only logical conclusion. If the state can't be reformed, there are only two ways this ends. Either global bankruptcy. Debt keeps compounding, interest payments eat the budget, and the system collapses under its own weight. Or robots. AI and robotics grow the economy so fast that the debt becomes manageable, and abundance makes the old fights over scarcity irrelevant. Here's the part almost nobody sees. For two centuries, capitalism has had a marketing problem. Its gains are real but slow and invisible. 2% growth a year doesn't feel like anything. Your life gets better over 30 years and you never connect it to the system that did it. Meanwhile, the left's promises feel immediate and concrete: a check, a subsidy, a benefit. That's why the left wins on promises even when it can't deliver them. Capitalism produces the wealth, socialism takes the credit. Robots break that asymmetry. When productivity doubles in a few years instead of a few decades, people will see it. Things get cheaper, services get better, opportunities appear, in real time. For the first time in history, people will connect capitalism and their rising standard of living directly, almost instantly. The causal chain becomes visible. And that changes everything politically. So there are two scenarios. Scenario one: we stay in the current inertia. No breakthrough, or a breakthrough we regulate to death. The debt wins. Living standards stagnate, then fall. A frustrated electorate turns to whoever promises the most, and that pushes toward a hard collectivist left. But collectivism fails, as it always does. And when it fails, the most organized, most disciplined collectivist force left standing isn't the old left. It's radical Islamism. Bankruptcy, then communism, then something worse. Scenario two: robots win. Abundance arrives, and it arrives visibly. The link between free enterprise and prosperity becomes obvious to everyone. And this is the key point: it becomes obvious to everyone, including the minorities the left was counting on. Because their long-term incentive is the same as everyone else's. A kid in the suburbs gains infinitely more from a booming, abundant West than from a bankrupt state handing out promises it can't keep. Abundance is the most powerful integration machine ever built. That's the Western renaissance. The West doesn't need to win the culture war by arguing. It needs to win it by delivering. And for the first time, it has the technology to deliver fast enough for people to notice. The race isn't left vs right anymore. It's robots vs bankruptcy.

In rereading Alma 60-61 this morning, I pondered some interesting points. Moroni was normally a very inspired leader. It feels like in his letter he was too angry to feel the guidance of the Spirit, causing him to blame and even threaten Pahoran. Pahoran, on the other hand, is the consummate politician, using Moroni's words to reinforce the need to go against the king-men. It is fascinating to see that even very righteous people, when sufficiently angered, may lose access to the revelation they need to do the right things. There's a modern day lesson in it, too: Don't post angry.

We really needed the SAVE act.
HOLY CR*P 🚨 Official Election Administration and Voting Comprehensive Report buried all the way on page 193 of the document shows Texas processed 2,900,357 new valid voter registrations between 2022-2024 without proof of citizenship Documented proof of citizenship like birth certificate, passport and naturalization papers is not required at the time of voter registration in Texas 56.5% of Texas voter registration were classified as “new valid registrations.” This is extremely suspicious that 55% of Texas voter registrations were “new”

Yeah, what happened to my cousin was pretty horrific. He had a broken femur that they set with a broken broom handle. They ripped the tubes out of a guy that just died and reused them to intubate him. He got chemical pneumonia from that. He didn’t get into surgery for 4 days because there is only one doctor in their city. We had a friend that got into a similar accident living here in the US. Same brain injury. He’s got 3 kids now and is totally fine. My cousin has been brain dead for almost a decade now. Universal healthcare kills.

China is thrilled Americans voted down data centers. A number of other nations are excited, too. The result is that billions of dollars and many jobs will flow out of the US and we will not have control of data centers critical to our defense.
$GOOGL WILL INVEST $15 BILLION IN MALAYSIA IN 2027 & 2028, FOR DATA CENTER CAMPUSES, CLEAN ENERGY, WATER SECURITY & WORKFORCE TRAINING: RTRS
