Just ran a session on verbal communication skills with a management team. As usual asked the group for an example of a good communicator. The two most popular answers to this question are former Presdent Barack Obama and David Attenborough - both got a mention again yesterday!

Currently creating a staff survey and training session on the subject of psychological safety. This is such an important, topical area and several of my clients are showing a keen interest in the subject. goodmanagerguide.com #psychologicalsafety #training #managers
Interesting chat with a management team yesterday about the way that greeting people (or not) when entering the workplace can be perceived. Managers are communicating messages to their team all the time, often unconsciously.

SelfCareWeek - an entirely relevant concept for managers. In my experience many exhaust themselves in undertaking their duties and managing their staff. Crucial to create some 'me time' and re-charge the batteries occasionally. #SelfCareWeek #Management

Great feedback today, following completion of a coaching programme, describing how I helped improve the person's 'well-being, attitude and management skills'. Such a pleasure to help in these areas.... goodmanagerguide.com #coaching #mentoring #Management
An important topic area in modern management. You can learn more about unconscious bias in our 'Go Hire' guidebook and associated video-podcasts. goodmanagerguide.com #management #recruitment
It’s important to decrease bias in hiring. But bias also runs rampant in our meetings and the way that work is distributed every day. s.hbr.org/36cLwUK

Session on 'teamwork' with a senior management team - the concept of psychological safety struck a chord again. It's when people feel safe to take risks, voice opinions & be open & honest with each other. They respect & trust each other. #Management #teamwork
Business coaching can be so satisfying. Completed a programme today with a young, developing manager who was a pleasure to work with - keen to learn, emotionally intelligent, focused. Love my job! #coaching #Manager goodmanagerguide.com
