It's been a vintage year for Glasgow archaeology - Govan Old excavations, my own dig at Camphill, amazing geophysics at Crookston Castle and now Harvie's Dyke! Plus other stuff I probably don't know about.

If you're planning a visit to Crookston please note that
Historic Environment Scotland have taken the decision to close the Castle for a few days while they look after some bats who have decided to move in.
We’ll share an update when the Castle is ready to reopen!

A special moment this week as children from Pollok Children's Centre passed the @Glasgow_2026 Commonwealth Baton to their friends at Lyoncross Nursery at the Castle.
It was a fantastic way to celebrate the Games and their return to Glasgow.

Today saw the first of our creative workshops ahead of our @Glasgow_2026 festival event, Party & Picnic.
Great to see so many colourful and creative flags inspired by the Castle and community pride taking shape.
