France never seems too far from a rambunctious protest-turned-riot, so even when engulfed streets reach our press, few raise more than an eyebrow. But there is something fascinating about the Marxist-Islamic alliance that is behind the flames.

The right to life is the premier moral issue because all human rights depend upon the human person being alive. The right to life is the common ground for the morality of all issues considered in policies involving human dignity and the common good. @FWdiocese @TXCatholic
James Talarico worked to find common ground with one Texas voter who said she votes exclusively on the issue of abortion.
Talarico said that while he supports some abortion access, he said he wants to see fewer unplanned pregnancies and abortions overall, and that the issue should be viewed instead as a "public policy problem."

We have become increasingly reluctant to call evil what it is, preferring to explain even horrific acts through trauma and pathology. When suffering becomes an excuse for evil, we dehumanize the very people we claim to defend.

My last video was recorded before a surgery, when I was exhausted and had been struggling with a health problem for months. Post-surgery, things are looking different. Here's an update. (YT version: youtu.be/PdHSuctA8mQ)

The symbols, architecture, and labels that we use do not merely affect our understanding of what those things mean; they affect how we understand our placement within a broader culture.

It's one thing to identify mental illness as a causative factor in a horrific crime, but it's another thing entirely to stand outside the courthouse with a picket sign. We're witnessing something far darker than mental health advocacy. writings.crusadergal.com/p/e…

I realize that it's been a while since I last uploaded a video to this channel directly, and there are good reasons for that. I thought I'd take a minute and explain.

In the haste to use AI for everything, we risk replacing something as fundamental as a human voice on the end of the phone in a crisis. Let's slow down and think this through.

The ire toward Dr. Anthony Fauci is deserved, but he was merely the figurehead of a much larger apparatus that too many Americans trust blindly. The COVID era revealed a pseudo-religion at work in modern America.

California is suing Heartbeat International to prevent the pro-life group from providing Abortion Pill Reversal—or from even providing information about using progesterone to reverse a medication abortion in progress. They're starting to admit it: it's not about "choice" and it never was. crisismagazine.com/opinion/a…

The most troubling question is not whether Andrew Tate and his brother will be convicted, but how they amassed an audience of millions of young men by equating degeneracy with masculinity.

When euthanasia became normalized and societally acceptable, there was always going to be a gradual dehumanization of the man. In the next phase, bioethicists are asking why we can't kill someone via organ removal.

There is a type of connection that is seldom reflected upon in the modern age, and which comes from understanding the nature of another person as he exists before God. Here's my latest, on the eternal dimension of friendship among the faithful:

An attempted beheading in Belfast ended when an Irishman intervened with a hurley stick. For a brief moment, the scene became symbolic of something much larger: a people deciding whether their culture and their civilization are still worth defending.

Standards that cost nothing produce nothing worth keeping.
I joined Fr. McTeigue to discuss why guilds died, why universities became expensive daycare, and what real institutional renewal demands.

We welcome Dutch writer Robert Leusink to examine the crisis facing modern institutions, from universities to professional guilds, and the consequences of losing a transcendent vision of work and education. In an age of institutional decline, what does authentic renewal look like? Father finishes with Timely Thoughts.

It's not a given that we would care about history. In fact, it is increasingly common for people to view our history with a sense of resentment. The monks of old spent their lives preserving such a record. Have you considered why?
