Hypothesis: Bishops conferences inevitably adopt the modal politics of their lay staff. Staff of middle aged ladies = middle aged lady politics. Restaff with white guys age 20-35 = totally different politics. Same bishops, same doctrines.
U.S. bishops are opposing proposed Census Bureau rule changes for the 2030 census, arguing that excluding noncitizens without lawful permanent resident status from the apportionment count would effectively deny them recognition as persons.

The Samuel Sey situation creates a conundrum for liberal conservatives.
If you are going to define identity in a country as a matter of government paperwork, then you are going to be legitimately deported for paperwork errors.
I don't like tapestries. They're all faded and usually cluttered with crap. Hey, artist, let me know when you've decided which part of this is important to you!
Tomb of Ven. Leo Dupont, the Holy Man of Tours, who brought about thousands of miraculous healings burning holy oil before his image of the Holy Face. He founded the Holy Face confraternity which our Lord had requested of Sr. Marie de St-Pierre, and also rediscovered the tomb of St. Martin (the reconstruction of which in the Basilica of St Martin in Tours is pictured here).

Wow. FIRE data shows male students are more tolerant of ideological enemies than female students are of ideological allies. Read that again and then click the link.

This chapel in the village of Candes-Saint-Martin marks the spot where St. Martin of Tours died. As depicted here, the monks slipped his body out through the window because they feared the monks of Poitiers would come and steal it. He was then buried at Tours.
I didn't know about this spot, I just read that this was a nice village to walk around, I wandered into the Church and here it was. Typical Europe experience.

In today's Editor's Desk I wanted to address the changes that our sister publication @OnePeterFive has undergone since Timothy Flanders took it over five years ago.

The entire idea of a bishop giving a "Nostra Aetate Award for Random Jews who Do Philanthropy" is extremely stupid regardless of whether there is anything particularly morally scandalous about the recipient.
This constant sucking up to the Jews apropos of nothing is so disgusting that it makes antisemitism look more reasonable by contrast. Congrats.
A pro-abortion billionaire is being given a prominent award by the @archchicago because he's "well-respected" in Chicago and the Jewish community. In defending the choice, @CardinalBCupich plays the antisemitic card, saying, "Refusing to honor or engage with Jews solely because they hold conflicting religious or political positions can risk mimicking historic patterns of antisemitism through exclusion and bigotry, which, frighteningly, is on the rise."
Solely? The sole issue is Mr. Sacks' financial support (reportedly $600,000) of abortion initiatives. Surely there are prominent pro-life Jewish leaders in the Chicago area? Also, what if, theoretically, it were discovered that Mr. Sacks had given money to a pro-MAGA group? Would the antisemitic card still be used?
