Traditionis custodes had its five year anniversary, and I wanted to think long and hard before I wrote about it.
Nah, I played Palworld for 2 weeks nonstop, and now I'm gonna give you my thoughts in one take.

Trump lost most of his debates, but I unironically think he won against Hillary in 2016, just because "well then why haven't you done it?" to all her policy ideas showed a party that was utterly stale, who loved to talk and never do. And that resonated.
Lost every other one bad
Except its not boring.
Game 1 and 2 had drama and were close games. Game 2 was an epic come from behind story.
And Game 3 was close until Milwaukee, through old school baseball, exploded the game late and had the best 2 out rally ever.
The problem for that is most of the time the party doesn't allow authentically pro-life voices or religiously conservative voices in the party.
Edwards was actually pro-life, he didn't just say it as a campaign strategy.
If one includes for good and ill:
Gabe Newell (mostly good)
Todd Howard (a mixed bag)
Neil Druckmann (a decade of games trying to be movies and most of them are crap, plus a decade of stolen valor from the real talents)
Yup, Selzer's folly is just as bad as herding. Just a different way of why modern polling is broken, and how the pollster rating, which used to be to promote better polling practices, has become something pollsters game to avoid Nate's quirks.
What if some of these races really are this close? What if pollsters are independently refining their likely-voter models and arriving at similar conclusions?
We saw similarly competitive battleground polling in 2024, and polling generally performed well, despite accusations of herding then too. Unlike 2020, there were no Wisconsin D+16 polls. Did that pollster earn higher ratings for departing from the consensus?
Respectfully, I find it more problematic to characterize a poll that missed by double digits very late in the election as “brave.” An egregious outlier isn’t more useful than a poll near the consensus, particularly if that consensus proves correct. And agreement alone isn’t evidence of herding.
Pollsters should be focused on accurately measuring the likely electorate, not manufacturing disagreement to demonstrate independence.
Did Shawn Carter save the Super Bowl? Bleak world of Miley or Justin Bieber being the performer.
Jay-Z is headed to the Super Bowl halftime stage, but he wasn't the only big name in the running.
The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced Jay-Z, the founder and chairman of Roc Nation, as the Super Bowl LXI halftime headliner during Monday night's Cowboys-Eagles game.
According to reports, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were also considered, while Harry Styles was previously named among the frontrunners.
The February 14, 2027, performance at SoFi Stadium will mark Jay-Z's first time taking the Super Bowl halftime stage, despite his company, Roc Nation, helping produce the show since 2019.

You can't be racist. Because over time as the Gospel spreads, it is meant to obliterate those, to where there is neither Jew nor Greek, but all in Christ. The racial caste systems of man were always meant to fade, just as polygamy was never God's will and meant to fade.
In the end, the simplest explanation is often the correct one. Even had the comms issues on the pilgrimage been stellar and organized, it still wasn't happening because the secretariat didn't want it to, and nobody would tell him no.
Props to Edgar for being willing to state it
Replying to @edgarjbb_ @holysmoke
I would understand that excuse if they were told this was the issue, offered an alternative time slot and they said no. Some have speculated online this was the case, but the letters from the secretariat of state don’t mention any of that and I haven’t found any evidence on one camp or the other to that end.
Huge communication issues in the pilgrimage team notwithstanding, it’s not crazy to assume that the secretariat of state simply didn’t want to allow the Mass, the pilgrimage or anything.
There is a certain market within Catholic punditry, and its lucrative as hell for clout: the person who attends the TLM (that should settle it) but the problem is everyone around them just isn't as holy as they are. And if everyone were me, Rome would love us.
That people are flabbergasted on this one, honestly people just aren't paying attention.
This is exactly what animates him more than anything. And the evil nefarious nature of the Jew is what Sayed would talk about 24 hours a day if one let him.
ROFL if this is why memory and GPUs have increased so much....
Totally worth it.
With the midterms just eight days away, the White House has used its official account to post an AI-altered clip from Charlie Wilson’s NPR Tiny Desk performance of “Outstanding,” replacing the original performers with AI-generated likenesses of politicians, including Kamala Harris, Ilhan Omar, Hillary Clinton, and what appear to be Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer.

Apparently telling people to pack a sandwich was controversial…
I’d like to address that.
I think this time might be different for one reason:
EA's corporate overlords have a TON of debt that needs to be paid off. If they can get some scratch licensing a game they aren't focused on, that will be a very quick way to hit that cash register.
Especially if Exodus hits.
A former Mass Effect dev says fans probably shouldn’t expect EA to sell the cancelled Mass Effect project to another studio.
Romain Toutain, who worked as Mass Effect’s franchise technical director at BioWare, was asked whether EA could sell the project and let another studio finish it.
His answer: “EA never actually sells anything. They just shut things down and sit on their licenses.”
Meanwhile, a petition to save Mass Effect has already passed 200,000 signatures
