We’re also grateful to the Editor and Reviewers for their helpful feedback. We hope this study contributes to a deeper understanding of how cells regain their place in a regenerating organ.
Thanks for reading! 🙌

Cells in a regenerating axolotl limb somehow know their place—but how?
In our new paper, we trace the dynamics of positional memory, release open-source code to quantify it, and introduce a theoretical framework for proximalisation.

In between the dynamical phases of #tissue growth and decay the tissues are in #homeostasis, which we showed that can be considered a state of #criticality.

Is critical a tissue during homeostasis?
Can a toy Markovian model describing the cells as (stupid) entities that don't "remember" where they are in the cell cycle actually represent a non-Markovian model of tissue growth? Check out our last adventure in bioRxiv!

Happy to share our adventure on the mechanisms of spinal cord regeneration in the axolotl. We combined amazing computational modelling from @CuraCosta and the fantastic AxFUCCI from @LeoOtsuki, in collaboration with the great @aidarodrigo and the always inspiring @tanoxolotl!!
Axolotls have the rare ability to regenerate their spinal cord. Researchers have used models, tightly linked to experimental data, to help investigate the mechanisms and signalling underlying spinal cord regeneration elifesciences.org/articles/5…
