“That’s the way we’ve always done it” wouldn’t fly in a research proposal and it shouldn’t work anywhere else in academia either. If we can innovate in our research, then we can innovate in our teaching, mentoring, leadership, and more.

While he was one of the truly great bowlers, my favourite Dale Steyn stat is his batting record in Boxing Day Tests: He scored 400 runs in 15 innings at 33.33 with 2 x 50 and including his 5 best scores.
