Tonight marks the first NHL Saturday without CBC since 1952, ending a 74-season tradition that made hockey feel Canadian, but more importantly, kept the game public.

☣️🦠 UPDATE on pneumonic plague outbreak at the BSL-3 lab in Siberia. 🦠☣️
Russian gov't in TOTAL information control mode.
Baikalsk municipal admin warned residents NOT to travel to the area where the lab accident occurred, then deleted the info ~2 hrs later. Local REN TV deleted 5 posts about the accident. Local journalists who reported on the accident yesterday appear not to have not written any updates since.
Pneumonic plague is 100% fatal if not treated with antibiotics within the first 24 hours of symptoms. The biggest question being suppressed: have there been any more deaths from plague?
The US State Dept lists Russia as having an illegal bioweapons program, one of 2 nations (N. Korea is other). Genetic modifications / bioweapons engineering more likely done at Obolensk and Vector (in a BSL-4 lab), but this is impossible to know for certain.
🚨☣️More details on the Oct 1st pneumonic plague outbreak in Siberia, after a lab accident at a BSL-3 lab.
"FSB units accompanying ambulances transporting people who had been in contact with [lab tech] Shipilova for medical examination," as per local news. This is significant. FSB is Russia's domestic security / counterintelligence service, tasked w/implementing the national security of Russia." (Its predecessor was the KGB). This suggests quarantine was not voluntary.
It also means Russian authorities are treating the lab accident and plague outbreak as a national security issue, involving a lot more than routine public health.

Clinical trials are an essential step in the advancement of safe modern medicine but the start up pathways have often been long and tedious.
Through the launch of Clinical Trial Ontario’s QuickSTART initiative, clinical sponsors can now start their studies in Ontario in as little as 45 days!
Supported with $5M in funding through our government’s Life Sciences Strategy, this initiative will eliminate a key industry barrier and transform our government’s bold ambitions into a new reality.

Canadians: this sitting US Senator is using your normal government processes as a vehicle for laundering lies into your lawmaking and your health policy. Don’t let my home country spread its toxic policy ideas here. They are literally killing people
I truly appreciate the opportunity to tell the truth today at the @AllisonInquiry, and I will continue to advocate for those injured by the COVID injection.
It is well past time for them to be seen, heard, and believed.

Most people know the names Jonas Salk and Alexander Fleming.
Far fewer know Maurice Hilleman—even though he and the teams he led developed or substantially improved more than 40 vaccines and helped shape modern childhood immunization.
His story reveals the extraordinary power—and peculiar invisibility—of successful prevention. 🧵

One of the most striking aspects of RFK Jr.‘s recent CNN interview wasn’t any single claim.
It was how he argued.
Throughout the interview, his reasoning often resembled that of a courtroom advocate more than that of a scientist—emphasizing unresolved questions, shifting burdens of proof, and treating scientific uncertainty as grounds for continued suspicion.
That distinction matters.
Science rarely reaches certainty. Instead, it weighs the totality of evidence and continually updates its conclusions as new data emerge.
This thread examines that difference—and why it matters when the person making these arguments leads the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Not a partisan critique.
An evidence-based examination of reasoning, communication, and public health.

1/n Watching Kennedy make one false statement after another on @CNNSOTU @DanaBashCNN
1. The U.S. neither had the highest number of Covid deaths (that was India by 4X) nor the highest death rate.
2. The U.S. did have 200,000-300,000 unnecessary deaths among people who refused Covid vaccines
3. It was indeed the governors who issued stay at home orders after ICUs across the country were overwhelmed with sick and dying patients

Matt Ridley was so mad a science website published a Substack article I wrote a couple months back about the natural origin of the Covid pandemic that he wrote a boring, mostly factually incorrect clapback in response. A quick skim confirmed he remains the intellectual equivalent of a cucumber sandwich & about as spicy & interesting. But he really has been hard at work simping for conspiracy-fueled fascism.
So I made a reaction video on the way home from the nail salon 💅🖕🏻
Come for my petty fashion criticism, stay for my explanation of why I remain unswayed by his arguments.
