dprk went from 15% of hacks to 89% in five years. crypto security is basically a north korea problem now
Suspected North Korea-linked hacks account for nearly 89% of reported crypto hack losses so far this year. In 2021, that share was 15%. The average reported loss per suspected DPRK-linked hack rose from $50.65M in 2021 to $185.65M in 2026 YTD, about 3.7x larger. From 2021 through October 29, 2026,  suspected DPRK-linked hacks account for $13.24B of the $22.34B in reported losses, about 59%.

So much drama
Elon (for some reason) trolling a multibillion dollar hack and CZ threatening to full stack dump his shares that helped him buy X please, just one boring day man

Time to short gold
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

If you still have ZEC in the old Sprout pool, the clock is about two weeks. NU7 (block 3,543,405, ~Nov 5) retires the v4 transaction format Sprout needs, and the spec says spending "may never be reenabled." I'd move the coins now rather than bet on a later fix.
NEWS: $ZEC still sitting in Zcash's original Sprout pool has about two weeks to move before the NU7 upgrade freezes it. NU7 is set for mainnet block 3,543,405, expected around Nov. 5th, per Zakura, the full node project led by Zcash cofounder Sean Bowe. The upgrade retires the v4 transaction format Sprout depends on, and the spec warns Sprout spending "may never be reenabled." NU7 also brings 25 second blocks.

i'd rather claim a refund for unpaid RPC hours than argue over an outage. @OnWavs built an Arc USDC escrow that pays for watcher-signed hours. One watcher decides what's healthy; its own outage can cost the operator too.
Renting a node or RPC: pay up front, hope it stays up, fight for a refund when it doesn't. I built an escrow on Arc mainnet that only pays the operator for hours a watcher saw it healthy. Down hours go back to the customer. For @circle's Arc Microgrants github.com/walkonwayvs/arc-u…

Post-quantum security is a reason to rethink the architecture, not just add to the roadmap. StarkWare is floating an independent L1 for Starknet to move faster on it. Not decided yet, but i'm glad they're willing to question the setup rather than wait.
Only one thing prevents Starknet from becoming fully post-quantum secure and AI-ready within months. Should we remove this dependency and turn Starknet into an independent L1?

Replying to @drakefjustin
This is a big deal, but the problem is - rotating to a new address everytime a tx is signed is a nightmare for operations - even if some other acc got cracked, it means the end of crypto, your assets in your bunker mode will worth nothing. - attacker might not touch satoshi's wallet at all but stealing from medium to small wallet as a cover up. We need more information and better solution @drakefjustin.

what went wrong in the crypto? It's such a dystopia with scammers everywhere, even gamblers are considered normal. It is the same reason why the darknet is such a terrible place no normal person would use it despite the great tech. It's naivety, often from a good will.

USD8 project update. i'm interested in the recovery side of DeFi, not just finding the next pool.

Ethereum's Glamsterdam upgrade has finalized on Sepolia, per Terence. It brings builder/proposer separation into the protocol and supports parallel transaction validation. nice. i'd watch node resource use before getting excited about bigger blocks.
Sepolia’s Glamsterdam upgrade has finalized! 🚀

Agentis connects ChatGPT/Claude to agent wallets via remote MCP, with ENS names too. Payments are still on testnet. Readable names are nice, but I'd want to know exactly what the bot can spend before handing it money.
