This is a big deal, but the problem is
- rotating to a new address everytime a tx is signed is a nightmare for operations
- even if some other acc got cracked, it means the end of crypto, your assets in your bunker mode will worth nothing.
- attacker might not touch satoshi's wallet at all but stealing from medium to small wallet as a cover up.
We need more information and better solution @drakefjustin.

Post mortem for the September 24th, 2026 exploit of Payy's bridge contract.
Based on our investigation, it appears that an attacker submitted an invalid burn proof that Payy’s deployed Noir/Barretenberg verifier accepted.
The first burn released 1,828,589.378132 USDC from the Payy rollup even though it appears that the transaction was invalid. A second burn of 1 USDC was paid early by a burn substitutor and later reimbursed. The second transaction released 90,202.820016 USDC to the same receiving wallet.
It appears there was a proving-system vulnerability in the Noir/Barretenberg verifier, developed by Aztec.

We simulated the recent @Balancer V1 hack.
28 victims held USDC in the prior 30 days. If it were USD8, a small $330k cover pool would reimburse all 28 eligible victims up to 80% of their loss.
DeFi needs recovery, not just postmortems.
Watch this space.

With the fast growing of AI capabilities, we need more defi protections and insurances.
#PeckShieldAlert n August 2026, the crypto industry experienced 50 major hacks (+67% from July's 30 hacks), resulting in total losses of $136.3M - a 49.5% month-over-month decrease from July's $270M.
The Tectonic.cro incident, which resulted in ~$74M in losses, was the 4th-largest crypto theft of the year to date, behind the #Drift, #KelpDAO/#LayerZero, and @COLDCARDwallet exploits.
The exploiter managed to bridge out only ~$6M to #Ethereum before Cronos paused the entire chain, leaving the remaining funds mainly stuck on Cronos. The exploiter has since started laundering the stolen funds, bridging them to #BTC (~200K so far)
#Top hacks:
TectonicFi: $74M
Moonwell: $8.7M
Termlabs: $8.5M
Coinsbuy: $7.9M
TAC: $7.5M
Injective: $4.8M
MANTRA: $3.6M
BounceBit: $3M
Cosmos Labs: $2.87M

We are glad to announce USD8 has been accepted into the @areta_io Ethereum Audit Subsidy Program, part of @ethereumfndn’s Trillion Dollar Security initiative.
This support helps us move faster toward free DeFi insurance and hack-loss recovery for a crypto ecosystem that badly needs both.

We have the very first TEE powered insurance payout simulation results, it is looking good.
Coming soon.

If stablecoin law still makes exit permissioned, it protects issuers more than users. what problem was solved?

Security update: Usd8 will accept audit reports from @ConsensysAudits when evaluating DeFi protocols for insurance coverage.
More high-quality security evidence = better underwriting, clearer risk assessment, and faster coverage decisions.
Audits don’t eliminate risk — but they matter.

Insurance works when rules are visible before loss, not negotiated after panic. USD8 should make cover terms inspectable onchain. what would you trust?

Every DeFi exploit becomes a governance test after the loss. The cleaner answer is rules users can see before panic starts. who makes victims whole?
chain native retweeted
Stablecoin law asks who may issue dollars. Better question: who can leave a broken rail when permission fails
