“The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.” ~Tim Keller

Put your little story about what people have done to you into the big story of what Jesus did for you, and you’ll have the power you need to forgive rather than be twisted by anger and to seek justice rather than revenge.
Knowing Jesus, leads to loving Jesus, leads to obeying Jesus.
If I don't know Him, He won't be precious to me.
If He isn't precious to me how can I love Him.
If I don't love Him why would I care about what He has to say.
I did not say "know about."
Know Him experientially!
No earthly marriages will ever measure up to my wedding day coming!
They can only be shadows to point to my heavenly marriage to Jesus that's coming!

Every temptation comes with a promise.
It whispers, “This will satisfy you.” And every time we give in to sin, we’re believing that promise over God’s.
The way to fight sin isn’t just trying harder or feeling more guilty.
Faith breaks the power of sin because it believes something better — that everything God promises us in Christ is more satisfying than anything sin could ever offer.
Read ‘Future Grace’ by John Piper to learn how to not just say no to temptation, but to say yes to a greater joy.

The other 11 disciples didn’t stop believing in Jesus because of Judas’s actions.
Even when they scattered temporarily, Jesus found them gathered together in prayer & worship after His resurrection.
If the actions of others destroy your faith, you need to ask yourself: “Was my faith truly in Jesus, or was it in people?”

Lord,
I worry because I forget your wisdom.
I resent because I forget your mercy.
I covet because I forget your beauty.
I sin because I forget your holiness.
I fear because I forget your sovereignty.
You always remember me. Help me to remember you.
Amen...

Everything around you is manufactured to create envy and dissatisfaction in what you have currently. We are told having the new phone or better car will fulfill us.
Then we learn it leaves us empty.
Only Jesus fulfills like nothing else can. In everything He is preeminent!

You'll always feel like something is missing in your life as long as Someone is missing.
His name is Jesus.

Sin is saying "I don't need you God."
It's not an action specifically. Actions that are sinful are the fruit of the heart that rejects God.
This is the lament of the Christian because we still sin now and the heart longs to be free of self and live in the perfect need of God.
7. Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.
8. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.” (Romans 4:7–8, NLT)
This is me. A formerly self-centered sinful man. Now a self-centered sinful man whose forgiven.
