People wonder what JK Rowling thinks about the Malfoid phenomenon, but I've been wondering what Daniel Radcliffe must think about being constantly paired up with a computer generated blonde bombshell. 🤔
For #sectumsempra #malfoid enjoyers, try this on for bittersweet poignancy -
in my canon, in this first few awkward days of trying to date openly, with the whole school likely talking about little else, even the 7ths, the first time Harry and Dracaena try to sit together at Gryffindor table for a meal?
The first person to try to break the ice and make it not be weird is Katie Bell
And go read my Malfoid short story while you're here.

This is amazing. Luna Lovegood is the best wingman you could ever ask for.

What in the good goddamn did I just read?
Chudjak was originally an attempt from the wokes to attack right-wingers, it’s literally a trace of the face of a mass shooter.
However, because chuds genuinely have love and hope in their souls, they turned chud into a silly little guy, so hard that now it’s a term of endearment. A good example of this is also the Malfoid trend, which is harshly contrasted by Petra Parker.
One side can create beautiful things, one side can only corrupt and malform something already made into a twisted aberration. As the Bible says, “you shall know them by their fruits”
Here are my own thoughts on this matter, since I've posted it in pieces elsewhere:
Harry doesn't get to make mistakes very often. Sure, he wrongly accuses Snape in the first book, because Snape is a dick. He blames Malfoy for the events of the second, for similar reasons. But it all works out in the end, because dead ends are just part of the mystery.
Maybe that's just the nature of being the titular hero, or of the type of story that JK wrote early on, but he's never really punished for leaping before he looks. Everything is just brushed aside with a light detention at worst, and another 50 points to Gryffindor if he managed to save the school this year.
Sectum Sempra is his first real fuck-up with consequences. For whatever reason, Harry never thought to take his textbook out behind Hagrid's hut and fire off a few test spells. He just reached straight for the killing curse, not realizing that it was on the level of Avada Kedavra. It's the equivalent of a teenaged boy finding a loaded gun and using it to play laser tag because he'd only ever seen Cowboys and Indians fall over after being shot. 𝑂ℎ 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑡 doesn't begin to cover it.
So we rewrite it, yeah? Easy enough, we're already rewriting everything from Goblet of Fire onward to fit Malfoid neatly into the narrative. We can have our story as fluffy and romantical as we want, and nobody can say otherwise.
It's fine.
Just 2 things.
Number 1, you're removing the deepest plunge of the roller coaster. You've been to the summit, at the Yule Ball, and during whatever romantic shenanigans you want to come up with during the following ~4-6 months leading up to the graveyard and Cedric's death. But a proper enemy/rivals-to-lovers story needs a plunge. You can't just started at the bottom in their first year and work your way up, that's -- forgive me -- dreadfully boring. That's a checklist, not a story. Dracaena deserves better, which means she deserves her own character growth. The Sectum Sempara scene gives it to the both of them, and gives them a good point to rebuild from before the end of the story so that it's not just a rushed mess in the final 2 chapters.
Number 2, and nearly just as important; you're not just changing that one scene. You'd also be changing the context of a later scene, after Dumbledore falls, and Harry again attempts to use the curse on Snape. Canonically this is his second time attempting it, and now he knows exactly what it does. Harry is ready to 𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 a Hogwarts teacher for what he sees as the ultimate betrayal, and for the first time in his life he's shooting with the intent to kill.
There's nothing wrong with wanting a more light-hearted approach to the story. The "Lumos/Lumos" animation I reposted earlier is a wonderful example of this. But if you do remove it from the bathroom scene, just be aware that you're changing far more than a simple lover's quarrel in the girl's toilets. You're taking away a very strong point of agency and growth from two characters that could really use a kick in the teeth to get them back on the right track.
And go read my short Malfoid story if you want to see where the Sectum Sempara scene leads.

Looking for some ARC readers for a dark epic fantasy tale following main characters on either side of a war between elves and minotaurs. Developed cultures, opposing beliefs, no clear heroes or villains. If that sounds up your alley, check the L!nk bel0w.

Hollywood is cooked. If we can get the finer details to remain consistent, how can you even justify having a movie industry at this point?
Of course, you'll always need highly skilled specialists to bring out the full potential from LLMs -- Writers, artists, and editors that can piece a coherent, satisfying story together.
That's why you should go read my Malfoid short story.

After my weekend writing binge, it feels safe enough to share a little of what I've been working on over the past few weeks. Please note that this is more of a "this is what I'm writing right now" sort of post; it's my intention to ride this train until the book is finished or the wheels fall off. Apologies to anyone who was more interested in the other books I was working on until recently, but I do intend to get back to those soon.
Spark of Aether is a YA(ish?) fantasy romance about coming of age, loss, secrets and dragon riding. This is the "Malfoid-inspired" story I've been tweeting about over the past month. It's a romance story between a boy and a girl who are caught up in a mystery and conspiracy surrounding the dragon riding school they're forced to attend, all while learning more about each other, the secrets they're keeping, and the history they share.
I've posted both about the book as well as the first chapter (both free) over on my Patreon page; links will be in the reply. I'd like to share chapters here on Twitter, but I'm still investigating the best way to do that.
Thank you.

Fascinated by this art style. Not pure realism, not quite stop-motion, not quite videogame cutscene. It works really well.
I also love this interpretation of Lucius. Very close to what I'm imagining, the stern patriarch that was 100% all in for the Dark Lord's plan, but who found himself softening with his defeat and the birth of his daughter. I could see him -- not becoming a turncoat, but being torn by the desire to shield her from Voldemort's return in a way that he wouldn't feel for M!Draco. What might appear craven and deferential to Voldemort in the movies (no shade to the amazing Jason Isaacs) might instead be interpreted as an attempt to navigate the Dark Lord's temperament for the sake of his daughter.
In my mind, he would still go away to Azkaban for life at the end of the story, but in exchange for giving up the network of Death Eaters he would be allowed to leave Narcissa and Dracaena the family estate. And of course, with Harry as an Auror, he would be allowed a supervised pass to attend the wedding of his only daughter.
Lucius Malfoy never imagined...
His own daughter would go this far for Potter... ❤️
