In 6529, the āgatekeepersā are the community of holders who minted or bought cards, along with winning artists who received them for free.
Decentralization isnāt about giving everyone a vote. Itās about fair rules that apply equally to everyone, with no central authority enjoying special privileges. Equal opportunity, not equal outcome. This is exactly how I would describe Bitcoin as well.
6529 isnāt a communist society built to support artists. Itās a network state designed to grow itself while funding public goods, including art, software, science, research, etc.
The tech stack includes its own censorship-resistant coordination app, a novel decentralized decision network, and a growing set of smart contracts, including new ones designed to increase artist revenue.
The goal is to be the third most decentralized chain at the launch of the network by independent validator count (coming soon!!). This is a beautiful ambition which should be supported not torn down.
IMHO, 6529 has delivered more value to more artists than any other platform. Yes, the network takes 50% to fund its own growth, but it has no VCs or special insiders to fund it. The Memes is the only funding mechanism for the network state and mints are open to anyone with an internet connection.
Also, once the chain is live next year, the broad community of aligned TDH holders who have participated in the open minting process or artists who have won submissions will control that treasury together.
I look forward to valid criticisms of the network state from people looking to improve the project. To criticize you must first understand. I see a lot of the criticism. Very little understanding.
Iām sure we will see many good ideas from community members, artists and builders as the project grows.
Also, gmarfa
1/ On Squiggle #6529
I would like to explain why we are excited about ābuying a Squiggleā
While Squiggles are, in fact, sweet, the exciting part is that every part of this process happened in a decentralized manner.
2/ @aRegularDad proposed a Meme Card to fund a Squiggle acquisition.
81 profiles participated in the Main Stage vote and voted with TDH to mint this as a Meme Card
The card won. 77 paid editions were minted, providing 2.51 ETH for the acquisition.
3/ @cheesebiz and @bankons helped scout and connected @squiggleDAO . SquiggleDAO suggested trying to acquire Squiggle 6529
The price was 3.01 ETH, so @MadaCollects who had been following the discussion, chipped in another 0.5 ETH to the pool (respect!)
4/ The seller wanted to stay anonymous, preserve the provenance (no intermediary transfers) and keep their vault secure.
Ultimately, the seller trusted SquiggleDAO and 6529 network and sent the Squiggle directly to the 6529 Network Museum before receiving payment.
5/ Reminder: What is the 6529 network museum? It is a SAFE vault organized by TDH, owned by the network, a cultural asset, NFTs go in, but ~they do not go out.
It is the network-native concept of a national public museum
6/ Finally, one more step to replace the temporary art on the card with something appropriate for the long-term. Well, another TDH vote of course.
@ricardotakamura won with THE VAULT, a long-exposure light painting made at Casa NUA in Brazil.
7/ So to recap:
- Decentralized network mints a meme card to buy a squiggle
- Decentralized network picks which squiggle to buy
- Decentralized network updates the art
- Decentralized network permanent home for the squiggle
8/ What was my contribution to any step of this project?
Nothing at all. I was not involved at all in any way.
I had a vague awareness that it was happening, but was not following any of the details, let alone helping.
9/ Now, some of you are thinking āok, fine, that is cute, the NFT nerds are collecting NFTs againā
Maybe.
Or maybe collecting NFTs is a generalizable proof of concept, and there is no actual limit to this primitive.
We will see soon enough.
10/ Thank you to all who organized, the voters and everyone who minted.
Great job by all.

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY TO THE DOOMED BY @XCOPYART š
On 21st October 2018 the first ever edition of The Doomed was minted on KnownOrigin for 0.075E ($15.36 on the day!).
The description included with The Doomed is just one sentence: āTech won't save us.ā
Minted as an edition of 100, it famously took 434 days to sell out, and has since become one of the most recognisable and storied works in digital art
Well known collector @CozomoMedici once called it "a piece of the bedrock of the cryptoart movement". Itās also one of its most valuable editions, with the most recent 3 sales averaging over 40E each
The Doomed is owned by many of the most prominent collectors in the space including @sqda @RaoulGMI @thedoomedxyz @Jediwolf @punk4940 @punk8164 @l1qu1d_ @TokenAngels @Punk8868 @CryptoTaxGuyETH @VonMises14 @maxand98 @Scott_Steger
...and has been held from mint by many prominent artists including @artplusbrad @Hackatao @theYRDGZ and has inspired derivatives by other artists including an epic recent drop by @0x8BitArt
It was also the inspiration for the dedicated XCOPY DAO aka The Doomed DAO (where almost 200 collectors co-own The Doomed)
Fun fact: edition #1 of The Doomed contains an error in the name of the artist - "Divo_Tvurce" instead of XCOPY like the other 99 editions. It is speculated that either KO made an error or that XCOPY was minting under a pseudonym and then changed his mind after the first mint was sold. Maybe XCOPY can finally tell us?
Fun fact #2: only 7 editions of The Doomed were minted in 2018, making these extra collectible and almost impossible to find!
The OG Doomed was followed by a number of colour variants including the iconic mono 1/1 on SuperRare (bought for $74 and still held by @MLOdotArt), and three more KO mints including the ultra rare x/6 Green & Black Doomed, x/10 Red Doomed and x/15 Red & Black Doomed
Art historian and XCOPY patron @maxand98 wrote a marvellous article on the evolution of The Doomed from 2013 in XCOPY's Tumblr blog, its essential reading for all collectors: maxand98.com/writing/xcopy-tā¦
Editions #1, #2, #24 and #36 of The Doomed are proudly in the Pella Collection along with every KO variantšš
after Europe has proven it can successfully regulate soda caps, going straight into rocket science sounds like s reasonable next step
The damage for SpaceX is massive
"The European Union is working toward fast-track antitrust approval for a satellite joint venture between Leonardo SpA, Airbus SE, and Thales SA, which is positioned as Europe's response to SpaceX"
The actions of the šŗšø US administration have consequences.
Recent reports from 4 sources confirm that both Elon and Trump supported the restrictions of Starshield, which confirms my earlier posts stating that SpaceX is involved and part of it.
The Telegraph on Oct. 16 reported that it was Musk who proposed the speed cap to Trump ā and Trump "agreed," one source said.
That sounds very likely to what really had happened including Elons denial to have any responsibility (half true) and Trumps lie which is just one more of the many he spreads every day. finance.yahoo.com/economy/poā¦

UPDATE: I can confirm that the Ledger supply chain is compromised in Europe as well. @Ledger should initiate an immediate product recall to protect users.
I just purchased a second device from a different Mediamarkt location today, recorded the unboxing process, and discovered spyware once again (video linked in the second tweet).
The device was compromised in the exact same manner, featuring identical modifications (such as additional cables and an LTE module). This indicates its a widespread issue rather than an isolated incident, potentially affecting Ledger inventory across MediaMarkt and Saturn stores throughout Europe (comprising over 1,000 stores across 11 countries).
My initial hypothesis was that these devices were returns that looked unopened to the employees and were just sold again as new however, a MediaMarkt employee confirmed that the device I purchased was not a return, and that returned Ledgers are sent directly back to the manufacturer rather than resold.
Store records show the inventory originated from Aqipa GmbH. While Ledger's CTO was unsure if Aqipa serves as the direct distributor between Ledger and MediaMarkt, it appears to be the case. Given that Aqipa distributes across Europe, any physical retail store receiving stock through them may be at risk.
I sent the first ledger to mark and the second one is going to ledger now, so that they can analyse it.
If you purchased a ledger from anyone other than the official ledger store, make sure to check your device!!

thought was probably paranoid to use different manufacturers
oh well
still it makes me furious, why is this sh*t so difficult, why canāt we have nice things
there is just no way any of my normie friend could set up their wallet like that
Replying to @ChrizRoc
5/ The hardware wallets
I won't repeat why you should use hardware wallets, please see it as given and in doubt check details in the linked tweet.
For this basic setup you will need 4 hardware wallets, each of which setup with SSSS (2/3 required to restore) and a passphrase plus password protection.
For resilience one can go for 3 different manufacturers.
My most important criteria are how much Lindy they have, if they are open source and if they support SSSS. @Trezor matches all these pretty well.

this is bullshit btw
affected users either:
- fell for a phishing scam
- bought from a malicious "reseller"
buy your hardware wallets direct from source and don't fall for scams
HIGHLY irresponsible to tweet this.

My second card for The Memes by 6529, a series of art cards by many artists, is being worked out in public, in a chat room in my Studio. There are twenty-one numbered pictures and nothing is decided. The DAO votes on the final card. These are my own six front-runners.

END OF AN ERA. A NEW CHAPTER AWAITS.
As youāve probably heard, Iāve said goodbye to CryptoPunk #8348 for $5.9M.
This wasnāt an easy decision. I spent months flip-flopping on whether to sell, but after more than six years, I felt it was time. This Punk became my identity, so there was a lot more to think about than just the price.
I wanted to write this earlier, but the transaction literally happened in a beer tent at Oktoberfest... So I needed some time to collect my thoughts.
The 2021 NFT mania was insane. It gave me the opportunity to explore digital identity in ways I never expected when I bought 8348 in 2020 for $18,000. I DJād across Europe, North America and the Middle East, worked with luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Swarovski (with mmERCH) and Dolce & Gabbana, and helped curate art events in Miami, Ibiza and London. I also released original music, vinyl records, merchandise, and much more.
Looking back, I accomplished a lot with this Punk.
But the landscape has changed considerably since then, and my interests and priorities have evolved too. Over the last 12ā18 months, Iāve been winding down parts of the Seedphrase business and refocusing on whatās next. Thatās meant going back to my roots in trading, which was my focus before 2020, taking on new challenges in gaming with Wolf Game, and exploring new possibilities with AI.
On the creative side, I want to see what I can do under my own name. DJing without a helmet, playing more of my own taste in music, and being more involved in the art scene as Danny. Iāve spent six years building an identity around 8348, and Iām ready to give myself a bit more freedom to explore outside of that.
Iām proud of what we built with this Punk. Selling it doesnāt change that, or my interest in the space. Thereās still plenty I want to do here.
I wonāt reveal the new ownerās identity. Theyāre welcome to come forward in their own time. One of the first things I asked was that they be a good custodian of such a legendary CryptoPunk, and theyāve assured me they will.
8348 has been a huge part of my life since 2020. Itās strange to move on from something so many people know me by, but Iām excited to put that same energy into what comes next.
Youāll be seeing more of me. Just without the helmet (and with fewer traits).
