Everyone is getting this Jimmy Kimmel thing wrong.
A) It's not cancel culture when it comes from the government. It is censorship and state repression, just like in traditional authoritarian regimes.
B) Kimmel wasn't taken off the air for crotizing Kirk. He was taken off for criticizing Trump's lack of concern for Kirk. It was a criticism of the government. This has nothing to do with "cancel culture" and everything to do with freedom of speech.
Don't let them gaslight you into thinking this is a minor chapter in the culture wars. This is so much more.

The survey as a whole conducted by Novus was aimed at foreign-born people, not just those who came here as refugees. So the survey did not measure at all what you are presenting here. I think the Swedish journalist @kwasbeb was the first to report on this, a few years ago, when the survey first was published in Sweden. The number who did arrive as refugees and responded to the survey is rather low, just about 18 percent of those surveyed. Of these, the absolute majority came before 2010. The reasons for coming could have changed in more than ten years, as you surely can understand. So, if a Tesla employee born in California goes home for vacation he would show up in the stats surveyed here. Then of course you can have political opinions about people fleeing countries who eventually lose their reasons for asylum, but decide to stay in their new country, but that situation is not covered in this survey. Well, not that this tweet will convince anyone in any direction of anything, but it is what it is…
