The analysis covers the device teardown and UART pin identification, firmware extraction via chip-off with flashrom, and static analysis using binwalk and Ghidra to recover the hardcoded U-Boot password, then privilege escalation to root by abusing a writable boot script on the JFFS2 partition. It also covers plaintext Wi-Fi credentials stored on the device and an unauthenticated live stream found on 15,000+ internet-exposed cameras.
