youtube.com/watch?v=fT2hUCFZ… American Realism is a podcast and intellectual platform dedicated to recovering the lost moral and philosophical foundations of the American Republic. Drawing from the Scottish Enlightenment, natural law, and the classical liberalism of the Founding era, the series contrasts Classic American Liberalism with the ideologies that have emerged to challenge or replace it—Progressivism, Post-Liberalism, Libertarianism, and Woke Leftism. Hosted as a dialogue between two informed voices, the podcast explores questions of liberty, virtue, conscience, the role of the state, and the nature of moral order in both domestic and global contexts. Each episode offers deep yet accessible analysis of how different political frameworks interpret history, power, justice, and the human person. Whether you're a student of philosophy, a defender of the American Founding, or simply seeking clarity amid today's ideological confusion, American Realism provides a timely and principled guide to the moral soul of politics.

I am going to attempt to explain myself one more time in good faith, despite knowing that there is an entire cohort of people who have hijacked every conversation on immigration and pushed it further than any normal conservative wants to go if they actually understood what was at stake. Communism, fascism, and classical liberalism offer a fundamentally different answer to what it means to have rights within the nation you live in. Sure, there are iterations to these three philosophies, but they are the three main governing philosophies about an individual’s relationship with political power. Communism makes class and the abolition of all private ownership the price of admission. Fascism subordinates the individual to an authoritarian national project. The collective nation stands above any single individual. Nazism defined national belonging through race. Communism of yesteryear through class, today's version defines it through classes of oppressed victims. Classical liberalism protects individual rights, the freedom of conscience of every person, and equality before the law no matter what your race or religion or skin color is. In America, under our Constitution, skin color does not make you more or less American. This country is based on individual rights, not on any collective. The Constitution does not establish a category for “heritage American” because we do not have two classes of citizens, only one and they are all equal. Article I gives Congress the right to make uniform laws concerning naturalization. Congress exercised that power through the Naturalization Act of 1790, which restricted eligibility to free white people. That was a discriminatory statute enacted under the Constitution not a racial citizenship requirement written into the Constitution itself. Since this nation and every other nation is made up of flawed men who fall short of the glory of God, it has and will still continue to fall short. Congress replaced it in 1795 for the first time and since then. We are a nation of flawed human beings who have struggled to make our laws live up to our founding principles. Slavery and racial exclusion exposed the distance between the promise of equal rights and its practice. That is why 600,000 men paid for equal protection under the law for all in their blood. America was not founded on the thoughts and ideas of illiberal reactionary blood and soil or civilizational thought leaders of reactionary Europe. All illiberal thinkers organize their movements around a collective enemy. The collective enemy supplies movements with their most powerful organizing principle: an easy and succinct explanation for their suffering and a purpose through which members understand the problems in their own lives. The bourgeoisie obstructs the emancipation of the collective working class. The racial outsider threatens the safety and prosperity of the nation. The heretic endangers the religious unity of the polity. The oppressor perpetuates injustice against the oppressed. The liberal dissolves civilization. Each enemy has its own distinctive history, but the relationship it establishes within society is always the same. The future of the community, the nation, or the civilization depends on defeating the enemy, and in order to do so, leaders must acquire sufficient authority, or else the nation, the community, or the civilization will be lost. The contemporary revival of these older schools of thought has attempted to strip the labels of yesteryear from the ideologies they described, but that is not how language works. If you are a national socialist, you have a historical lineage that links you to fascism; if you are a socialist, you have a historical lineage that links you to communism. Lenin defended Soviet power through a new revolutionary class and excluded those he classified as being in opposition to his new utopian world order. His party claimed to represent the interests of all, but in reality it represented only the members within the protected friend class. A worker could not oppose the decisions of the party; his participation in the collective class was mandatory. Mussolini’s political doctrine folded political, economic, and spiritual life into the machinery of the state and required the individual’s participation in the entire project. National Socialism made racial belonging a fundamental requirement for political membership. They disagree on everything except the need for a collective enemy. Opposition to power is enough for you to be labeled the enemy. There is no moral distinction, and you don’t actually have to be wicked to be considered an enemy of the polity. And once you are the enemy, you can be defeated by any means necessary. These ideas of unequal citizenship and national identity that extends past LEGAL CITIZENSHIP WITHOUT SKIN COLOR is not conservative or classically liberal or part of the classical tradition. In The Fourth Political Theory, Aleksandr Dugin identifies the individual as liberalism’s political subject, class as communism’s, and the state, nation, or race as the subject of fascism and National Socialism. In Dugin’s account, liberalism defeated both of its twentieth-century rivals because of the Protestant Reformation’s insipid insistence on individual conscience as the defining good in society. Communism and fascism failed because neither could overcome the individual. It is this unhealthy connection to Protestantism, individualism, and modernity that Dugin seeks to sever. In his political project, we are all subjects rooted in land and tradition who belong to a distinct civilization, such as Eurasia. To describe that rootedness, he borrows from Heidegger’s concept of Dasein. The individual, in this world, has no standing apart from the civilization to which he belongs. Because every theory except liberalism subordinates the individual to something larger, Dugin’s framework rejects the limits of communism and fascism and instead embraces a totalitarian regime where communism and fascism can work together to defeat liberalism and modernity. Throughout modern history, illiberal movements drew Christian support by defining the community they promised to defend as the nation, the civilization, or the people united in the body of Christ. Adding the word white to that echoes back to the Christian restoration movements of Father Coughlin they were highly antisemitic, bigoted and tied to Nazism. That is not my assertion that is a documented fact. Christians have repeatedly decided these movements are the lesser of two evils against communism which has in modern times been expanded to include immigration. And, in many cases, the necessary evil to defeat revolutionary movements organized around the godless worker or the oppressed person. But choosing one collective identity over another doesn’t absolve Christians of the moral dilemma of collectivism. Religious language deployed by charismatic charlatans often provides what the masses deem sacred justification. Whether a movement calls itself integralism, Christian nationalism, or a Christian reactionary movement, it places an individual’s loyalty to a Christian collective movement above the personal obedience to Christ that the faith demands of each believer. Christ is the head of the church, and no political leader, nation, or civilization can assume His rightful place (Colossians 1:18). Believers form one royal priesthood, but membership in that body does not replace the individual accountability each believer has before God (1 Peter 2:9). As Christians, we are commanded to retain our discernment (1 Thessalonians 5:21) and personal responsibility before our Lord and Savior (Romans 14:12). A believer must not surrender his individual judgment to the leaders of a collective movement under the banner of Christianity. “We ought to obey God rather than men” governs our allegiance (Acts 5:29). Therefore, whenever a movement demands the allegiance owed to Christ and proceeds to claim the authority to excuse what He condemns, it becomes idolatry. Therefore, whether it calls itself integralism, Christian nationalism, or a Christian reactionary movement, any project that places allegiance to a Christian collective above the believer’s obedience to Christ violates the faith it claims to defend. Christ established a boundary around earthly authority: “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s” (Matthew 22:21). Caesar’s image appeared on the coin, but God’s image appears in us. We are image-bearers of God, and therefore our conscience is accountable only to Him (Genesis 1:27). Each of us will stand before God one day and have to answer for our choices, and there will be no nation, church, party, or charismatic leader that will be allowed to stand in our place (Romans 14:10–12). This is why classical liberalism’s protection of the human conscience makes it the only version of government that aligns with Christianity. Constitutional restraints prevent rulers from exercising jurisdiction over the human conscience. Caesar’s authority is over the coin, never the soul. As believers, we must strive to embody the character of the God we serve and the character of Christ. He called His people to love one another and to show their love for Him through obedience, rebuked disciples who sought to punish those who rejected Him, and distinguished His kingdom from the earthly one (John 13:34–35; John 14:15; Luke 9:51–55; John 18:36). The jurisdictional boundary around the conscience applies to believers and nonbelievers alike. A person’s rejection of Christ does not allow us to subject his conscience to man; it still belongs to Christ, whether he submits or not, because one day he will stand before Him and answer for his sins. When political leaders make Christian identity the rallying cry for collectivism against some enemy, they are not acting on behalf of Christ; they are acting on behalf of themselves. Their claim to represent Him must be met with discernment and obedience to Christ as He is revealed to believers in Scripture. We must preach, teach, disciple, and spread the good news of the gospel, but we are not permitted to force worship on those who don’t choose it freely. And a movement that acts against the character of the God it serves cannot be called Christian because, as believers, we wear the name of the Lord and Savior whom we choose to submit to and obey. The immigration conversation has been hijacked to push Christian collective white identify instead of the real problem, unchecked immigration that is overwhelming the country and its resources and encouraging people who hate it to help overthrow it. One project leads to better policies. The other leads to Nazi Germany. I hope that helped you out.
How people supposedly on the right think that this sort of messaging is helpful in any way whatsoever is beyond me.

Samuel is one of the nicer, more thoughtful people I've met in this wild experiment in saving the West, and I'm pretty saddened to see that this happened. I'm appalled at how the Woke Right has run with it. Ghastly. Zero character. Supporting him a little is a good thing to do.

Joel, I disagree with this approach, both in principle and in practice. Especially in politics and media, where the exercise of power affects the lives of millions of people, we need to be ruthlessly honest, truthful, clear, direct, and willing to hold people accountable. The fundamental problem with your argument is this: Who gets to decide who the genuine bad guys are and who is merely misguided, naive, or caught up in the wrong crowd? By what standard, and based on whose judgment? To this day, there are people who still fail to recognize Fuentes, Tucker, and Candace for bad actors. Then there are people who recognize the problem but are astonished to see another layer of people defending, excusing, or running cover for them. And now you're effectively proposing a third layer of protection for that second layer, on the grounds that those people might be well-intentioned, naive, or simply loyal to the wrong friends. Where does it end? It's like peeling back the layers of an onion, only to discover an increasingly tangled network of personal loyalties, relationships, and mutual protection, where each layer shields the one beneath it from accountability. And that is precisely the problem. When someone says or does something harmful, dishonest, or morally wrong, they should be held accountable for it. That includes defending or legitimizing people who engage in such behavior. Having cultivated personal relationships, friendships, or political alliances should not grant anyone immunity from criticism. Being unable or unwilling to identify bad actors does not erase the consequences of bad judgment. And loyalty does not absolve anyone of responsibility for the people, ideas, or narratives they choose to defend. Your argument also assumes that we can reliably distinguish the genuinely malicious from the merely misguided before deciding whom we are allowed to criticize. But discernment is precisely what so many people lack. Some recognize dangerous patterns long before others do. Why should those who see them earlier be expected to remain silent until everyone else catches up? Why not let them speak so more people become aware? Not everyone is that brave, so why punish those who are brave enough to raise their voices first? Most people only dare to speak up once someone else has already done so. There is a difference between treating people with kindness and protecting them from the consequences of their own words and actions. You can extend grace to someone without excusing what they do. You can leave room for someone to change without demanding that others stop pointing out what is wrong. And finally, this requires humility in all directions: You are asking people to consider the possibility that someone they regard as a bad actor might actually be a decent person who has been misunderstood. Fair enough. But are you equally willing to consider the opposite? That you might be mistaken. That your personal relationships might be clouding your judgment. That someone you consider a genuinely good person might be a bad one. Accountability cannot depend on how many people like you, how many friends you have, or how valuable your relationships are to a political coalition. It has to depend on what you actually say, do, defend, and enable. This is the only principle that should count. Otherwise, we're not exercising discernment, and whoever is more popular or better at doing people favors is chronically allowed to get away with more wrongdoing than others.

Hey Andrew, I get where you are coming from. I have felt similarly. Here is another concept that has gotten on my radar that you may want to consider. IMO, it is not unimportant. kayfabe /ˈkāˌfāb/ Kayfabe is the professional wrestling practice of maintaining the illusion that staged matches, rivalries, characters, and storylines are real and unscripted📷
I think people who are anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist probably have a decent idea of who is in their camp, yes. Why do you think they attacked NatCon?

Mrs. Basham (@megbasham ), who has blocked me along with others who raised substantive objections to her false accusations, faulty retelling of history, and false assertions, has now decided to accuse me of asserting that Mrs. Waggoner of Alliance Defending Freedom(whose attorneys I have associated with for two decades) is “one of the bad guys.” That is not what the screenshot I shared several days ago stated, and anyone who read it carefully would know as much. It would, of course, be unwise for someone whose professional life has been dedicated to the defense of religious liberty and constitutional freedoms to lend credibility to a National Conservatism conference whose actual project - visible to anyone tracking its intellectual currents - has little to do with preserving those liberties. I am quite confident Mrs. Waggoner accepted the invitation without realizing that a conference styled “National Conservatism” was in practice elevating voices interested in the Balkanization of the United States, a post-work political economy, techno-feudalism, theocratic caesarism, integralism, and the species-level ambitions of transhumanism. In other words, Mrs. Waggoner is innocent in terms of her accepting an invitation to speak at NatCon. The same can reasonably be said of Mrs. Basham, who is apparently being deployed this morning to run interference for a faction of Christian Nationalists observed entering a lecture on the Antichrist delivered by the transhumanist Peter Thiel - an event in which the Gospel of Jesus Christ is effectively being exchanged for the “gospel” of extropianism. Mrs. Basham lacks the knowledge and the understanding of what is happening around her - and how she is being used as a shield by men who lack intestinal fortitude. I have previously explained the technique used by organizations like NatCon: inviting established, trusted speakers to lend credibility to a program that is simultaneously advancing transformational, postmodern, and critical-theory-derived ideas. The same method was used in years past by T4G, TGC, and others, who invited speakers who did not share the deconstructive agenda of the conferences themselves. The men who walked into that lecture - William Wolfe, Andrew Isker, Joshua Abbotoy, and Joshua Haymes -are, by contrast, not plausibly ignorant of Thiel’s antichrist framework. This being said, Mrs. Basham and the transhumanist-friendly Christian Nationalists should answer the following questions before throwing around additional false accusations: a. Why do men who talk constantly about nation, order, and Christian inheritance keep aligning with (or refusing to criticize) projects whose explicit trajectory is to remake the human condition itself through technology? b. Why do self-described Christian Nationalists continue to partner with men and organizations who are supporting transhumanism? c. Why is there reflexive hostility from transhumanist aligning Christian Nationalists to anyone who treats that contradictory alignment as worth examining? d. Why is it that the investment portfolios and long-term business interests of the Christian Nationalists and Monarchists line up so cleanly with the Balkanized, techno-feudal America that the Transhumanists are openly building toward? e. Why is it that the men and women leading “Christian Nationalism” keep reaching for critical theory, postmodern rhetorical games, and straight-up Marxist concepts - the exact same analytical tools of their Woke Left counterparts? These questions are easy to answer if one is actually opposed to trading the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the utopian promises of transhumanism and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. They become difficult only if one is trying to avoid accountability for taking investment and legitimacy from people whose project is accelerating artificial intelligence toward a form of technological managerialism that would replace the constitutional republic. Of course, Mrs. Basham will do neither despite repeated warnings from myself and others over the past four years about the trajectory of the post-liberal movement, she continues to operate without a clear grasp of the ideas she is now defending. This morning’s post captures the issue with Mrs. Basham. She is advancing a false accusation while running interference for men who have reintroduced critical theory, postmodernism, and anti-liberty ideologies into Christianity. @ConceptualJames @PhilWMagness @tundpodcast @willspencer @realmikolson @Janet_Mefferd @marklevinshow @RealDonMarshall

How about that? I guess I was right about yet another thing - the Woke Right infiltrating and subverting conservatism. I lost people because of this too. I wonder if I will ever get them back.
Imagine you wanted to take over a political movement and run an elaborate op to, let's pick a random example, normalize antisemitism within it. How would you do it? You'd infiltrate the movement with several groups, not just one. Each pretends to occupy a different position on the antisemitic spectrum. The supposedly moderate, less openly antisemitic group (Group 1) spreads subtle antisemitic narratives while being attacked by the more radical antisemites (Group 2), who accuse them of being the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they are: "Zionist shills," for example. That's the cover. Group 1 can now mainstream antisemitic narratives while claiming to be attacked from both sides, as if that somehow proves they occupy the reasonable middle ground. The accusations become so contradictory that every label loses its meaning, which is exactly the goal. The group can then say increasingly harmful things while presenting itself as "unfairly persecuted." I see the Woke Right and the Groypers as part of the same broader political project: harming the United States by weakening its alliance with Israel from within. From that perspective, I suspect Fuentes's attacks on people like Tucker, Candace, or the NatCon speakers serve a useful purpose. They give them plausible deniability. They can point to his attacks and say, "See? Fuentes called us this and that, so we must be doing something right." Being attacked by someone more extreme than you doesn't make your own statements any less wrong or destructive. It's foolish to treat a system designed to manipulate you, one that shifts the Overton window toward antisemitic narratives while giving them cover, as a serious sign that what was said wasn't wrong or harmful. Four articles have laid out in detail why the things that were said were problematic. Everything else is noise, a propaganda play that only naive people fall for - or those who pretend to fall for it because they're part of it in the first place.

Trying to talk with Grok about how to deal with a potential attempted color revolution as exposed by @DataRepublican's "Democracy Files" drops, and part of what it said is this, which is worth pointing out. Remember, "your opponent's reaction is your real action" is the logic of Leftist agitation. "A deliberate or emergent overreaction (street clashes, property damage, or escalatory counter-protests by younger right-aligned activists) would be strategically counterproductive. It supplies the visible crisis, polarization, and potential federal-response trigger that the materials treat as an opportunity for structural change or “refounding.” Historical cases show that mutual escalation or regime overreaction can expand a movement’s appeal or create elite hesitation; disciplined restraint and reliance on professional law enforcement deny that dynamic."
