At 9.30 Leo Varadkar will defend the #CETA agreement before the EU Affairs committee, just days after the #Quakers called for the dropping of the Investment Court System from the agreement on moral grounds. If you need a catch up check out this illustrated thread 👇 #StopCETA

Agri-Food Strategy development should be led by Government, not by industries pushing for highly polluting business-as-usual that will sabotage climate targets & hurt small farmers

Government is making its final decisions on the new Climate Law. We’ve got one more chance to make it stronger for #FasterandFairer #ClimateAction. And to get a ban on #frackedgas #LNG imports included in the law. Email your TDs now!

#StopCETA! Visit bit.ly/GuideToCETA to find out how this trade agreement introduces a corporate tribunal system that will allow corporations to bypass Irish courts to sue the taxpayer. It could affect #housing #health #education #farming #climateaction #socialjustice

Had a little dig around some new data from Eurostat that flew under the radar.
Turns out Ireland is producing the highest volume of plastic waste per person in the EU, while having the fourth worst plastic recycling rate.
Not a great combination.

The TDs & Senators on #JOCCA have published their report on the draft #ClimateAction Bill.
Their recommendations would greatly strengthen the #ClimateBill. @EamonRyan, @LeoVaradkar & @MichealMartinTD should accept them & bring Bill to Dáil asap in January.

Eamon,
You are literally in the photo of the launch of the civil-society coalition against CETA. I see no mention of CETA in the Programme for Government, so please tell me you have not agreed to ratify CETA tomorrow?

Irelands has high levels of FDI & is not exposed to #ISDS type claims now except by #ECT.If Ireland ratifies #CETA on Tues. Taoiseach @MichaelMartin & Gov partner @EamonRyan allow Ireland be exposed to such claims when its fully ratified by all Member States. #PostPoneTheCETAVote

#postponetheCETAvote It would be utterly disastrous & stupid for Ireland to gratuitously (no one is making us) sign up to investor courts which allow corporations to sue states for billions if they introduce better health, environment or equality laws. This is not about trade 1/n
