Right on.. you have a better pulse on this than I do.. I think you are onto something with the 10 regular season games .. more football for everyone is never a bad idea in my opinion

Just don’t see it, coach. Participation down not up. Only had 61 in Class C total this year. I’d suggest getting 10 of those to Class B and C is 48-50 like it used to be.
Love the 10 regular season game idea.. instead of restructuring to one class of C.. could we get more teams back into 11 man if we created a third class of C? Would some of the larger D1 teams come back to 11 if they knew they could play people with similar roster sizes?
Replying to @JimClarkson1609 @NebPreps
I believe we need to have someone step up to make C one class in football. Increase B. Then split Class A.
Great to see central Nebraska represented by Dawson Kissinger! He was a heck of a high school player at STC.
Congrats to our Players of the Week for their performance against Midland🏆

Coach @Mmclaughlin84 is one of the best in the game.. he has seen the game at different levels with different dynamics.. he understands the problems better than most.. more people should ask him of his thoughts when it comes to making major decisions
Fantastic tweet from a coach. We need more leaders like him creating a better playoff system for kids who want to learn life through football.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS turns 22 today.
Billy Bob Thornton improvised much of Coach Gaines’ famous halftime speech after asking Peter Berg if he could go off-script. He drew from something that had happened to him the night before.

Nick Saban once held up Dallas Turner as a lesson for young players.
Not for a sack. For how he handled sitting on the bench.
Now, in his third NFL season, one man has more pressures than 7 entire NFL defenses.
Turner showed up at Alabama in 2021 as a five star recruit. When the season started, he was third string.
He did not complain. He watched how Will Anderson prepared, the guy who led the country in sacks that year, and did the same thing.
When injuries opened a spot, he was ready. He finished his freshman year with 8.5 sacks.
Saban told a room full of coaches about it.
"Dallas Turner, on the third team when the season started."
Saban said Turner "works his butt off," and when his chance came, "he was ready to take advantage of it."
By his last year at Alabama he was a consensus All-American and SEC co-Defensive Player of the Year. Minnesota traded up to take him 17th overall.
Then he had to learn it all over again.
Through 14 weeks of his rookie season, he played 202 snaps. One sack.
So he did what he did at Alabama. He found the best pass rusher in the room and stayed close.
That was Jonathan Greenard.
"If I didn't have J.G. my rookie year, I probably wouldn't be where I am mentally, physically and spiritually."
"He played a big role in my career. Honestly, just being a big brother."
Year two: 8 sacks. 4 strip sacks, tied for the most in the NFL.
This offseason, the Vikings traded Greenard to Philadelphia. So Turner became the big brother. After practices at training camp, he stayed late to run wind sprints with the young defensive linemen.
Then the games started.
Next Gen Stats has him with 20 pressures, the most of any player in the NFL.
That is more than 7 entire defenses. The Bears have 19. So do the Jaguars and the Steelers. The Cardinals have 17. The Dolphins have 16. The Giants have 12. The Rams have 10.
Sunday in Chicago, he ended the game himself. Fourth and 2, one second left, the Bears needing a touchdown. Sack.
Vikings 9, Bears 3.
"DT being our closer, finishing the whole thing," Kevin O'Connell said. "DT just keeps showing up."
Andrew Van Ginkel said it best.
"It's been a long couple of years for him, but he's earned this spot."
Third string at Alabama. One sack in 14 weeks in Minnesota.
Both times, he waited, learned from the star in front of him, and took the job when it came.
Saban called it a lesson.
Turner keeps proving it.

RESPONDING TO MISTAKES
"I'm letting the team down because I turned the ball over ... missed a shot ... blew a defensive assignment. No, you're letting the team down when it parlays into 4 or 5 possessions after that.
Pick yourself up... You're playing a game that's imperfect."

This morning’s 9/11 essay from SEC Nation and Marty & McGee. Let’s remember the feeling that we had right after that worst of days. Not the fear. But our willingness to stand together, no matter our background or political differences.

Congrats to the NFL Hall of Fame class of 2026
Pay attention young athletes! Two great lessons can be learned from these all time greats.
While coaches and parents may pressure you to specialize in one sport don’t listen to them! Be an athlete not a specialist.
While you may be tempted to transfer for a better opportunity or a guaranteed starting job….get better where you are and make your TEAM better!
I give you Exhibits A, B, C, D, E
Drew Brees played varsity football, basketball, and baseball at Westlake High School
Adam Vinatieri lettered in wrestling, basketball, track, and soccer at Rapid City High School
Luke Kuechly played football (LB, TE, and S) and lacrosse at St Xavier
Larry Fitzgerald played football, basketball, and ran track and field at Academy of Holy Angels
Roger Craig played football, wrestled, and ran track and field at Central Davenport High School
Be an athlete, not a specialist!!
Be great where you are. Don’t take the easy way out to a better team. Make the team you are on great.
