One month in: faster sprints, more explosive jumps. 📈⚡️
A consistent, structured program with intent yields results. Seton Hill Softball trains with NSSA 4 days per week, building speed and power that support base running, swing speed, exit velocity, and throwing velocity.
Proud of their progress and excited to see where these girls will be in 6 months!
Speed Dominates. ⚡️

If you make it to college and think your coach will continue to play you without producing, you would be wrong. It’s their job, their livelihood. They are going to play who produces. Not who says they know they can if just given the chance. But who steps in and just finds a damn way to produce. Excuses and finger-pointing don’t work there. And when you step in the adult world and want to be successful, it doesn’t work there either. Stop the excuses and parents stop enabling. Just find a way to get it done.

Being a good person is more important than being a good athlete. When all is said and done, you’ll be remembered more by your character than your athletic accomplishments.

“I want a team that feels like family” sounds good, but recruits need to know what they actually mean by it.
Here are the questions you should ask yourself:
Do I want teammates who spend most of their free time together, or do I need space and independence?
When I’m struggling, do I want someone to push me, sit with me, give me space, pray with me—or some combination?
Do I want a team that is loud and energetic or calm and steady?
How important is it that my teammates share my faith and values?
Do I want coaches who feel parental, coaches who are more businesslike, or something in between?
How do I want conflict handled? Directly and immediately? Privately? With coaches involved?
What does accountability look like to me? Is being called out uncomfortable but valuable, or do I respond better to private conversations?
Do I want a team where upperclassmen actively mentor younger players?
How important are team traditions, meals together, Bible studies, community service, or other activities away from softball?
Do I want close friendships with everyone, or am I comfortable having a few close relationships within a healthy team?
What behavior from teammates would make me feel supported? What behavior would make me feel isolated?
Can I celebrate a teammate who wins the position I wanted?
Do I want teammates who challenge me to compete every day, even when that creates some tension?
What does trust actually look like to me—in the locker room, dugout, classroom, and outside softball?
When things go badly, what kind of people do I want standing beside me?
The big question might be:
When you say you want a family, are you looking for constant closeness, emotional support, shared values, accountability, belonging—or all of the above?
Because a recruit can’t identify the right culture if she hasn’t defined what the right culture looks like for her.

After spending a great weekend on the road, I have one thing to share:
I want players who COMPETE at every point of the game, including warmups. I will not recruit players that are “taking plays off” or watching the ball hit the floor without laying out for it.
We want DOGS!
We will be filling some roster spots this summer. Looking to build on a good season and compete for a championship in 2027. If you are interested, please send video and transcripts to [email protected] and we will be in contact when NCAA rules permit. @SoftballPortal

Entitlement destroys influence and culture.
Stop focusing on what you think you deserve, start focusing on how to serve.
Entitled to nothing, grateful for everything.
Humility is the way.

Coaching is a thankless job, with little appreciation given. Long hours, constant criticism, you win it is all the kids, you lose it is all your fault. Thank you to the coaches out there rocking it. We do not hear that enough. Bless you all.
Support Seton Hill Softball and help provide student-athletes with much-needed indoor practice space and resources to continue competing at the highest level!
