Ever wondered what goes into making a play-call in 40 seconds?

A friendly reminder to high school football statisticians: Under NFHS guidelines, a play ending in a tackle should result in one solo tackle or two assisted tackles. Multiple defenders should not be credited with solo tackles on the same play, nor should three, four, five or more defenders routinely receive assisted tackles on a single play.
Solo tackles + (assisted tackles ÷ 2) should roughly align with the number of plays ending in potential tackles. (rushing attempts, receptions, kick returns, punt returns).
Accurate and consistent stat keeping ensures players receive proper recognition.

Lovie Smith coached in the SUPER BOWL and parents still argue with them. People wonder why coaches aren’t lining up to volunteer. Its not the lack of pay, its disrespect and the fact parents think they know everything
Per the reporting from Steven McCollum of the pre game incident between coaching staff and parents from Friday Night ... This was Lovie Smith and Head Coach Miles Smith reaction to the parents who were there Friday Night to help setup, and saw the equipment thrown on the locker room floor, and posters removed. Pictures were taken to document what happened, and this happened in the open, by the concession stands.
This was a few hours before the game. I reported the incident happened, and here is the video.

Strength is 🔑 but speed 🔓unlocks athleticism!
Tracking bar velocity utilizing VBT to assist with enhancing speed is vital. There is a time for maxing out, but it’s not the end all be all…
GPS lets us manage each athlete’s workload individually instead of guessing who’s tired. Faster reps, more muscle, higher neural drive. The data informs who needs rest or more reps!

I have so much respect for high school football coaches. It’s a sport that requires significant amount of time meeting and watching film. When you work a 9-5 all of that comes at the sacrifice of time with family and friends.
Then they go out and have 1 shot a week to get it right. The whole town is there. They all have something to say when it’s not going well.
The glory is great, but the stress and work has to be hard.

If you’re a fan and you don’t understand a word he said, just know this sound bite has 3+ situations, some game planning, and identifying your opponent’s favorite play.
Opponent likes Boot flood on 3rd and short-medium.
He covers:
- 2x2 coverage
- 3x1 check coverage
- motion from 2x2 to 3x1 check coverage
In short, roll cover 2 over the trips, “trap” with the corner to the trips side, backside Safety works over #3. MEG (man) the solo receiver.
He didn’t say very much. He just used a lot of words to say it.

Is the Gap of knowledge between casual fans and coaches/players higher in football than any other sport? I feel like it has to be, no avenues for casual football playing pretty much outside of high school stops all learning of the game for 99% of fans.
