my three favorite parts of You Can See Everything:
> seeing a WeWork with a view that nice
> the initial distant shot of two people swimming in the ocean, then zooming in at the very end
> the title hinging on the word “can,” coupled with her claims about Theranos and her text "FYI you can totally see everything"

Nathan: 10 monkeys were jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head. Now there are 9 monkeys jumping on the bed. Do you get it?
Holmes: is it like, cause the monkeys should be asleep?
Nathan: it’s a cautionary tale
Holmes: oh I didn’t get it
Billy: turn the cameras off

Obviously funny because the Titanic sank but even if it didn't sink I would wager they could turn it around within the span of a night.

Maybe he meant $15k? Is is about avoiding declaring money for plane travel? Ease of transport for cards vs cash? Danger of theft? Avoiding taxes?
What kind of deal are you doing that needs $15k cash but would also take pokemon cards??

A driverless car doing a mid-air flip from a standstill proves Tesla can build a stunt rig, not that this is a usable consumer vehicle. If passengers were actually inside, the forces and failure modes would require serious restraint systems that is closer to a roller-coaster harness than a normal seatbelt, and possibly head-and-neck protection too. That alone tells you this isn’t a realistic production feature.
This is classic Elon: create a physics-defying circus act to change the subject. Tesla is under pressure, especially from Chinese EV companies, so instead of answering for delays, margins, competition, and execution, he gives shareholders a flying-car magic trick. Impressive stunt? Sure. Serious production roadmap? Not even close.
Not to mention, this would never get approved for road use for obvious safety reasons. A car capable of launching itself into a mid-air somersault from a standstill isn’t a "feature," it’s a liability nightmare. Anyone treating this like a serious production capability instead of a controlled stunt is being painfully gullible. This is exactly how Elon operates: turn a safety and engineering absurdity into a viral magic trick so people stop talking about Tesla getting squeezed by real EV competitors.
I'm not an Elon hater.
I'm just telling you the Honest Truth:
This is a marketing stunt.
The technology is quite old.
Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car.
Because it's pointless.
Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them.
It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism.
His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't.
Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall.
This is not engineering genius.
It's marketing genius.
Very good. I have almost all the same thoughts, but where Nayman lands that it’s not a success I think ultimately it is.

So much of cinema's power comes from believing that theres another human mind on the other side of the screen conversing with you. Someone who made hundereds small, big, deliberate, specific choices in every single frame.
The tragedy of AI art isn't even that it looks bad, it's that it forces you to become a skeptic. The moment you start wondering if a gesture, a certain pacing, a duration of pause was intentional or just a program hallucinating, calculating probabilities,...the immersion dies, the magic disappears.

Ms. Rachel blasts Republican Christian hypocrisy: “Let’s be a more Christian nation and take away SNAP benefits. Let’s be a more Christian nation and put our neighbors and put the strangers in detention centers. Let’s make more and more money and not help others and let’s deny people’s healthcare. But the SNAP thing, that just breaks me. You’re gonna complain about a child having enough food?”
