22nd PH-JPN-US Maritime Cooperative Activity Concludes Successfully
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) and United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) successfully conducted the 22nd PH-JPN-US Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MMCA) in the West Philippine Sea from 19 to 24 October 2026.
The AFP participated with BRP Miguel Malvar (FFG6), an AW109 helicopter, a C-208B aircraft, and a search-and-rescue (SAR) aircraft, while the Philippine Coast Guard fielded BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV 8301). The USPACOM mobilized USCGC Bertholf and an MH-65 helicopter, while the JMSDF deployed JS Kirisame and an SH-60K helicopter.
Participating forces conducted Communications Exercise (COMMEX), Division Tactics (DIVTACS), Photo Exercise (PHOTOEX), Deck Landing Qualification and Vertical Replenishment (DLQ/VERTREP), Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) and Search and Rescue (SAR) serials to strengthen logistics, maritime-security, and emergency-response coordination.
The successful conduct of the 22nd MMCA reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation with Japan and the United States and promoting a free, open, and rules-based maritime environment.///

His Excellency even flouted diplomatic niceties at a closed-door meeting with DFA.
So he sure is fearless and therefore…
We should just receive compensation for any contractual breach, pay more for alternative supplies in the interim, and seek new sources in the long run. It’s not likely to impact the island greatly, but it teaches us a good lesson about our strategic vulnerabilities.

Your purported video would sound more convincing if the radio exchange includes the CCG telling the PH crew "your resupply mission is approved. Out." 🤷🏽♂️
With China's permission, the Philippines delivered daily necessities to its illegally "grounded" vessel at Ren'ai Jiao on Wednesday. But the #Philippines again denies needing #China's approval for resupply. An exclusive video obtained by the Global Times shows that during the resupply operation on Wednesday, the Philippine vessel Iplp No.1 cooperated well with the CCG. It's clear who is lying. #RenaiJiao globaltimes.cn/page/202610/1…

When Beijing claims it’s “safeguarding order”, it really means PRC’s idea of order that favors its interests whether it’s in South China Sea, East China Sea or Yellow Sea. It’s definitely not the order based on international law as we commonly know about.
China's government said on Wednesday that its coast guard was "safeguarding order" around a tiny and strategically located Taiwan-controlled atoll at the top end of the South China Sea where Taipei fears Beijing is trying to enforce jurisdiction. reuters.com/world/china/chin…

GT reinforces the ambassador's messaging to Manila: you better heed this threat, either submit to me and accept my coercion, or I'll use force again you. Now even extraterrestrial lifeforms light years away from Earth can hear it loud and clear.
#Opinion: Rooted in a desire for peace, Ambassador Jing Quan’s words were well-founded, reasoned, and served as both counsel and caution. The Philippines ought to rein in the irresponsible words and actions of certain individual politicians, and do well to heed the words of Ambassador Jing Quan.

Beijing has for a while been scraping its barrel for tools to coerce Manila. Whether it's out at sea with those "control measures" or here threatening to sanction PH officials, clearly it's running out of ideas.
The only tools left: outright economic sanctions and kinetic force.
China has warned that it would bar more Philippine officials from entering its territory should Manila declare Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan persona non grata, escalating a diplomatic row that has fueled tensions between the two countries amid their maritime dispute in the West Philippine Sea.

Uncle feels worried that an unearthly being is expecting me to account for my own interests and decisions to him. Next thing could be me disappearing from the face of Earth and my wife and daughters will be devastated. 🙃
Uncle here is worried that my fellow Singaporeans have befriended an unearthly being. 🙃
Replying to @CollinSLKoh
Alright uncle I have many Singaporean friends of different races. They are kind, upright and truly work hard for their families. Unlike you, you always make highly inflammatory and biased remarks rooted in subjective views. I don’t think this does your family any credit.😂
Of course it is. You’re presenting a conundrum to Manila: accept that we are only coercing you if you don’t wish war. If you don’t accept this coercion, then we shall no longer be benevolent and just use force against you. No matter how one reads it, the remark is a threat.
“In the South China Sea, China will not use its size to bully the small, nor allow the Philippines to use its smallness to blackmail the strong.”
What am I reading here, a joke on a Friday evening? 🤷🏻♂️
#Opinion: Recent remarks by Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan have been portrayed in Manila as a threat. In the South China Sea, China will not use its size to bully the small, nor allow the Philippines to use its smallness to blackmail the strong. globaltimes.cn/page/202610/1…
I didn't know threatening to use force is part of an attempt to stabilize bilateral relations. It's a very innovative idea that can only come from Beijing. 🙃
Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Jing Quan's remarks serve to stabilize China-Philippines relations, and his wording, hyped by some Philippine forces, actually aims to deter any actions that seek to jeopardize bilateral relations, says a Chinese expert, adding that the latest spat over the ambassador's remarks shows the Philippine side’s manipulation and an upgrade of undermining bilateral relations. @Chinaembmanila @DFAPHL @jaytaryela globaltimes.cn/page/202610/1…
