One reason that I don’t believe integralism is possible today is that the Church has chosen to become the guardian of the liberal postwar order. I don’t want the worst mistakes of liberalism enforced as though it was a divine mandate.

Because they all make you kind of useless. A population that is “rocking out” is zero threat to anyone in power, zero threat to the status quo. There’s lots of passion, lots of anger, lots of sex and sometimes a bit of romance.
But when you step back, it’s all rather pedestrian stuff. None of it really inspires anyone to be better, or to imagine a better world.
People used to spend substantial sums on their stereo system and record collection and spend hours listening to it alone. Prior to this era, music was ALWAYS a social activity. Since the dawn of time.
A teenage boy obsessed with rock music is basically just entertaining himself and not really thinking about the world too much. The music might express anger towards “the machine”, but it always provides dead ends.
I’m sure you have some popular music that you like. I know that I do. But when you really look closely at the effect it has on most people in this society? It’s a pacifier.
Music, which once brought people together and reinforced bonds of heritage, community, values, and identity now just entertains. Often those who are completely alone.
Revolutions averted. Progress stalled. A population rendered harmless.

Please don’t even think you can fool us with you pathetic story of poor, pitiful Ukraine just struggling to be free and being picked on by mean old Mr Putin, who attacked them for absolutely no reason, and that Ukraine wasn’t a threat to Russia and all the rest.
Many of us simply know better. Many of us do know our history and geography, despite whatever desperate fantasies those in the UK and Europe may wish to cling to.
There are those in the UK/Europe/NATO who hold an inexplicable, irrational, and quite frankly insane hatred of Russia. They are all unable (or simply unwilling) to articulate the basis for this hatred. But it’s clearly apparent.
And we all know the plan was to overthrow the government of Ukraine, install a western proxy government, and leverage them into creating a security situation which all of us knew the Russians would find intolerable.
And we all know that the hope was to draw Russia into Ukraine, sacrificing however many hundreds of thousands of Ukraine was necessary in a scheme more genocidal than anything Hitler would have imagined, in the belief that this would ultimately weaken Russia and that Russia could then be broken apart and its resources devoured by Euopean jackals.
Of course, because this scheme was cooked up by genocidal nutcases who are insane, their grand scheme fell apart once it was hit my reality. As Mike Tyson noted, “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
Europe and NATO and the UK got punched in the mouth. Because their leadership is fundamentally insane and out of touch with reality.
But their devious exploitation of the Ukrainian people, falsely promising them economic growth and European integration while knowingly sending them into a conflict which would so throughly depopulate Ukraine that the language and culture is now headed for extinction.
This is shocking and appalling wickedness. Truly nauseating to anyone who honestly sits with it.
None of this is a secret to anyone who has remotely studied the history of this conflict.
I want everyone who thinks Adolf Hitler was some kind of hero to the German people to pull their head out of their ass. You think he was a friend to the Germans? He senselessly killed millions.
He was a tool of a much larger operation that destroyed Europe and much of its history.
