A cursory glance at Europe and it sclerotic economy will buttress the argument that governments are horrendously inefficient at everything they do, so why not ensure that they do as little as possible?

🔥No president since Truman has cut 300,000+ federal jobs while adding a million private-sector jobs, all in under two years.
That was 80 years ago and driven by the end of WW2.

You cannot have a high trust society with so many low trust people. You either reorganize the society or get rid of the people, but you can’t have both.
Left a bowl of candy out in my neighborhood.
No one did this.
Good test of a high trust/low trust area and it’s even more interesting when people blatantly do it despite knowing they’re probably on camera.

a low-trust society... this is what you get.

The various governance crises around the world have different causes, say the news media. A downtown Portland hotel sold for $101 million less than it bought it for in 2016 due to “post-2020 pandemic impacts, slow tourism recovery, and high downtown office vacancies,” say reporters. French students are protesting severe teacher shortages, large class sizes, and neglected and dilapidated buildings, say journalists, while German students are rioting and looting in Frankfurt to protest living costs and military conscription, they say. And South Africa’s water and sewage infrastructure is collapsing due to a rising population, crime, and corruption, say the media.
But left-wing policies and ideology are the underlying cause of each of those problems. The reason for Portland’s slow recovery and office vacancies compared to other cities is that the city and state’s soft-on-crime policies have made downtown Portland dangerous and unpleasant. Radical Left groups are behind the French and German riots. And the policies and ideology of the left-wing African National Congress (ANC) have undermined meritocracy and legitimized corruption in South Africa....

Riots in Germany, declining property values in Portland, and South Africa's crumbling infrastructure all have distinct causes, say the media. In truth, they all have one root cause: left-wing policies and ideology. The media, for its part, is complicit in the grand deception.

it’s becoming abundantly clear that the concerted effort to divide the military from within was stunted when Hegseth took over. Anyone desiring color revolution needs control of the military. That’s color revolution 101.
And now we understand the absolutely rabid obsession with destroying Pete Hegseth.
I’ve been in the Army since before 9/11. Served under many secretaries.
Only in the past 18 months have I experienced:
>politicians warning me not to follow illegal orders
>billboards outside military bases telling me to report war crimes
>the media attacking anyone who has a positive thing to say about the man, and defending anyone who hates him
>stunning volume of leaks from senior officials trying to undermine him, and the lionizing of the leakers by the press
>being called a war criminal myself, hundreds of times a day
>a sustained media narrative portraying virtually every firing or senior officer removal as a “purge”
>public efforts by retired officers, advocacy groups, and political figures to mobilize service members and military communities against administration policies
>influential “Americans” publicly cheering for Iran
This is just to name a few. I’ve NEVER experienced anything like this before. And it’s becoming abundantly clear that the concerted effort to divide the military from within was stunted when Hegseth took over. Anyone desiring color revolution needs control of the military. That’s color revolution 101.
Is it starting to make sense yet? Now you see the obsession over him in particular. It’s not a coincidence. And it damn sure isn’t because of his culture war.
It’s because by all objective metrics, he runs a military that snatches rogue leaders from their beds, destroys entire militaries, and successfully mobilizes assets to save one downed pilot in the middle of enemy territory by building an Air Force base… in the middle of enemy territory. Secures the border, dominates the hemisphere. Hunts drug cartels. The list goes on.
He is by all meaningful accounts, effective at wielding the machine. And that is why they drool at the thought of removing him.
In years past you’d be hard pressed to find a junior Soldier who knew the name of the cabinet secretary above them.
Every one of them knows Pete Hegseth.
Every one.
Russia lost 54,200 troops (killed or wounded) in October, the first month of the war over 50,000.
For their efforts, Russia has gained no net ground in October.
This is the most pointless war in the history of wars. Great job, Putin.
Lies, all Lies!
I've heard experts, RIGHT HERE ON TWITTER, saying Ukraine can't beat Russia.
In October, our Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted record losses on the enemy and recaptured more territory than the Russian occupiers managed to seize.
In just one month, Russia lost 54,400 troops killed or badly wounded. This is a record for any month of the full-scale war. There was also a record for daily losses – the Russian army lost 2,250 troops on October 21. Importantly, we continue to reclaim what is ours. In October, the Defense Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian land, which is 10.4 square kilometers more than the occupiers managed to capture during that time.
We thank all our defenders, all our warriors, every brigade, and every unit for this important result for our country. Russia is suffering losses. We are holding our positions, liberating territory, and making every day of the war as costly as possible for the aggressor. To stop these insane losses, all Russia needs to do is choose a ceasefire and diplomacy.
