Ted Cruz pushes back on Bill Maher’s claim that Republicans are the only ones who challenge election results. Cruz brings up the 2000 presidential election, reminding Maher that Al Gore challenged the results in Florida after George W. Bush was declared the winner. When Maher tries to move on, Cruz presses him on why Gore’s challenge should be viewed differently.

JUST IN: Another Michigan Democrat just crossed over. State Rep. Karen Whitsett is endorsing the Republican, Mike Rogers, and rejecting El Sayed. When Democrats in Detroit start walking away, the party has a problem. Michigan, go finish it.

🔥No president since Truman has cut 300,000+ federal jobs while adding a million private-sector jobs, all in under two years. That was 80 years ago and driven by the end of WW2. Trump is a once in a lifetime President! MAGA 🇺🇸

You cannot have a high trust society with so many low trust people. You either reorganize the society or get rid of the people, but you can’t have both.

Left a bowl of candy out in my neighborhood. No one did this. Good test of a high trust/low trust area and it’s even more interesting when people blatantly do it despite knowing they’re probably on camera.

The various governance crises around the world have different causes, say the news media. A downtown Portland hotel sold for $101 million less than it bought it for in 2016 due to “post-2020 pandemic impacts, slow tourism recovery, and high downtown office vacancies,” say reporters. French students are protesting severe teacher shortages, large class sizes, and neglected and dilapidated buildings, say journalists, while German students are rioting and looting in Frankfurt to protest living costs and military conscription, they say. And South Africa’s water and sewage infrastructure is collapsing due to a rising population, crime, and corruption, say the media. But left-wing policies and ideology are the underlying cause of each of those problems. The reason for Portland’s slow recovery and office vacancies compared to other cities is that the city and state’s soft-on-crime policies have made downtown Portland dangerous and unpleasant. Radical Left groups are behind the French and German riots. And the policies and ideology of the left-wing African National Congress (ANC) have undermined meritocracy and legitimized corruption in South Africa.... teapawt.net/shellenberger/status/2… Please subscribe now to support investigative journalism that changes the conversation and to read the rest of the article. teapawt.net/shellenberger/status/2…

Riots in Germany, declining property values in Portland, and South Africa's crumbling infrastructure all have distinct causes, say the media. In truth, they all have one root cause: left-wing policies and ideology. The media, for its part, is complicit in the grand deception.

Muslims are threatening violence if they don’t get their way?
If, God forbid, Abdul loses, this will be a watershed moment in Democratic politics. The fire will rise. It's over. People will be radicalized against corporate, pro-Israel Dems. There will be a reckoning. If, when, he wins, it will be a watershed moment. And that reckoning will still come.

Russia lost 54,200 troops (killed or wounded) in October, the first month of the war over 50,000. For their efforts, Russia has gained no net ground in October. This is the most pointless war in the history of wars. Great job, Putin.

This is a phenomenal level of loss, and Russia’s territorial gains have been steadily getting smaller… at some point it will be come obvious even to senior commanders that the current strategy is simply not working
In October, our Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted record losses on the enemy and recaptured more territory than the Russian occupiers managed to seize. In just one month, Russia lost 54,400 troops killed or badly wounded. This is a record for any month of the full-scale war. There was also a record for daily losses – the Russian army lost 2,250 troops on October 21. Importantly, we continue to reclaim what is ours. In October, the Defense Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian land, which is 10.4 square kilometers more than the occupiers managed to capture during that time. We thank all our defenders, all our warriors, every brigade, and every unit for this important result for our country. Russia is suffering losses. We are holding our positions, liberating territory, and making every day of the war as costly as possible for the aggressor. To stop these insane losses, all Russia needs to do is choose a ceasefire and diplomacy. @GeneralStaffUA

In September SpaceX had about 1/4 of Google's AI compute. By end of 2027 it's ~85%. Google: ~7 GW to ~15 GW (estimate, Goodnight included) SpaceX: 1.7 GW to 13 GW And Google is paying SpaceX $920M a month for compute right now lol I am Calling it now SpaceX easily surpasses Google in 2028. $SPCX
Google's "largest data center" in late 2027 is Goodnight, Texas. ~1 GW lol SpaceX is adding ~0.4 GW a month right now. Goodnight is about 2.5 months of that. All of Google today: ~7 GW of AI chips (estimate). End of 2027: ~15 GW, Goodnight included. SpaceX today: 2.2 GW. End of 2026: ~3 GW. End of 2027: 13 GW, per Elon. Google 2x. SpaceX 6x. At 20 GW SpaceX passes Google. Elon says that's extremely unlikely, but not 0%. My read: this turns into a two horse race in 2028. $SPCX

Are you kidding??? For a thousand years, Muslims harvested African children and teenagers. They turned the girls into sex slaves for their Arab/Turkish/Mughal male owners, and castrated the boys (killing most of them in the process) and then either worked them to death in mines and galleys or kept them celibate soldiers slaves (or, for a “privileged” few, made them the jailers of the female sex slaves). Thereby enacting genocide on their slaves. That’s why Muslim societies outside sub-Saharan Africa have a minuscule black population despite a millennium of slavery.
"Slavery was universal" typical deflection dressed as honesty. Transatlantic chattel slavery was a distinct system, racialised, capitalist, with children as inheritable property and African life treated as expendable.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗪𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦 𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗣? I watched our OPFOR UAS Troop destroy every Command Post and artillery piece in a Brigade in training. What did we learn? Absolutely nothing. We must be comfortable with failure to learn! And we will fail that's OK. The effects were ignored. The imaginary CUAS was 100% effective, and that unit gained ZERO training, because we had to show success on that rep. The Soldiers just stood and looked at the strike drones at a very easy to find command post, only kilometers off the front line. No effects were applied. No lessons to learn. Status quo operations continued. The next unit repeated the same mistakes. Ignoring it was a deliberate choice, and unfortunately the truth. These are hard truths we can learn from. The intersection of autonomous warfare and operational art will define the winners from those who do not survive. I will keep doing everything in my power to ensure the success of this Nation. What are our units doing now I hope much better? #USArmy

Tom Wolfe completely changed my politics. I read Bonfire of the Vanities when I was 17 and loved it so much I went and read everything else Wolfe had written. Demystifying intellectuals as being just as stupid, petty and narcissistic as anyone else in books like The Painted Word and From Bauhaus To Our Haus and articles like Radical Chic opened my eyes to the folly of believing in the perfectibility, or even improvement, of society through top-down schemes imposed by self-important clowns.

Bonfire of the Vanities has the best bit on criminal guilt. Most defendants are obviously guilty.
The intelligent, sober-minded, and conscientious criminal is a cliché at the heart of so many fun movies that I sometimes wonder if people realize it’s totally fake and in the real world crime is almost all dumb guys with poor impulse control. boxd.it/h6zc7X

In 2016 The NY Times did a video on the 2000 election and how crazy it was to not have the results on Election Day. Now the MSM tells us that not having the results on Election Day is normal. 😜
If you go to bed on election night and don't know who won a midterm congressional race, that's normal. And if you wake up the next morning and find that a candidate who was behind hours earlier has since pulled ahead, that's normal, too. (via @PolitiFact) to.pbs.org/4zqnWBa

New figures obtained from the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveal a major shift in the most common surnames given to newborn babies in England and Wales, with Khan and Ahmed now ranking second and third, overtaking the traditional British surnames Jones and Williams. In 1996, Smith, Jones and Williams occupied the top three positions, followed by Taylor, Brown, Davies, Evans, Thomas, Johnson and Wilson. Three decades later, the top ten are Smith, Khan, Ahmed, Ali, Jones, Hussain, Singh, Williams, Patel and Kaur. Khan, Ahmed and Ali have more than doubled in frequency, while Jones has declined by 43%, with Williams experiencing a similar fall.
