If there is anything that I can call a "sin" and a glaring flaw in the Mass Effect trilogy... it's the Reapers.
Or rather, EXPLAINING the Reapers.
NEVER explain the incomprehensible. Once you do, they lose their main draw.
The Reapers worked best when we knew nothing about them. We knew what they did and that was it. We did not know where they came from, why they did it, what the purpose, nothing. It was a total mystery and it made them all the more interesting and the moment they explained them and their backstory... yeah, they lost all that.
Considering that Mass Effect took massive inspiration from many other franchizes and ESPECIALLY Star Trek, it's genuinely baffling that they did the same mistake as they did in that show.
Because Star Trek had their own Reapers in the form of the Borg. You know nothing about them. You didn't know where they came from, why they did what they did, who made them. You knew nothing except that you will be assimilated. And people loved them.
And then they explained them. Many, many fans have said that this was exactly what ruined the Borg for them and made them less interesting.
So in this case I think it's safe to say that Mass Effect took a bit TOO MUCH inspiration from Star Trek in this specific case!

Guy who literally pays developers to not use steam and has gotten multiple games delisted from steam is calling steam a "walled garden."
Replying to @kiaran_ritchie @SheriefFYI
Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Nobody is forced to use Steamworks.
A lot of games use Steamworks only for authentication to allow for crossplay and do the rest themselves.

It's really sad when I encounter a situation with two different sides and rapidly come to realise that the dividing line between them isn't race, gender, politics, or any other factor, but IQ level and social awareness.
I'll be honest with you, I think we finally reached the point where AI slop has just turned into another worthless buzzword that means "I personally don't like it" and nothing else.
A guy is rewriting the Harry Potter books to add Malfoid into it, literally doing it live with access to the google doc where you can see it all happen live... and you still have utter idiots bleating that it's "AI SLOP!" lmfao

*studio collapses
Don’t Nod, the studio behind the original Life is Strange, is collapsing.
The French developer is facing a near-total layoff, up to 85 jobs, which would leave its French teams with only a small number of employees.
The studio has struggled with a string of underperforming releases, the most recently the sci-fi adventure Aphelion.
Don’t Nod has warned that it may not have enough funding to continue operating beyond January 31, 2027, and has entered a French “safeguard” procedure to restructure its finances.

I don't agree with harassing artists, but I think there's nothing wrong with people expressing their thoughts on the value of work relative to it's price ($1000 for this animation)
A JP or KR artist would probably make something a tad better for less than $500, lets be real here

Yo @Scrubings you might like this
Kirsche was lied to, and told that it was the sponsors that threatened to pull out.
In reality, they literally just conspired to do it in their official public Discord server

It was absolutely not the the sponsors
It was the organziers/activists

A con canceled a guest 4 days before it takes place to ensure nobody can cancel, trying to trap them as attendees. Yeah no, demand a refund from the con & do something else fun in Michigan if it's too late to cancel travel. DO NOT attend this pussy shit.
