Thought experiment: Australia's undersea cables are destroyed. Assume no Starlink or similar. How do we go?

Appreciate the thoughtful response, and you spending the time to watch This is a thought starter & provocation, tied to where we are, vs. where we were a decade or two ago. Some say deport (including citizens), we say, let's think about assimilation proactively & creatively.

Have you watched the full video? I reckon you’ll dig it Appreciate the input and hard agree on instilling duty being a core driver. Singapore does this very well. But defence and resilience at a community level go hand in hand. That’s not feminisation it’s just holistic.

Once one develops a strong radar for self-serving NPCs, and locks in with good people, the clouds part.
Another takeaway after three years of building a company is that the returns to just "being a good person", and not acting transactionally, are higher than I expected. There are so many transactional, boring, and at times immoral people in the tech industry that if you act with sustained warmth, authenticity, humor, and integrity, great gifts will be laid before you. White pill.

Poor performances from the 3 Aussies. Disappointed.
Introducing The Cheeky Pint Benchmark. We made our intern watch every episode of Cheeky Pint to bring you this breakdown of pints drank by guests to the nearest sixth. Congratulations to @elonmusk who is currently in the lead with three full pints of Guinness.

Yep, and on the latter point, I'd argue that's why today, so much of culture is lazy, referential and derivative.

I think about this too — there were different levels of freedom and innocence in the world which wasn't always on display. There were fewer shortcuts to knowledge and access. There were more accidents, more stumbling, less pressure for perfection. Naivety has its benefits
