Cooke Scotland was happy to help #Orkney Sea #Cadets in Kirkwall with support towards installing a #turbine which will provide sustainable green energy and offer a means of providing funds for the organisation.
Calum Gillies, Cooke Scotland Technical & Sustainability Officer, said: “Sustainability is central to how we operate as a business and to the positive role we aim to play in the communities where we work. Supporting Orkney Sea Cadets’ new wind turbine aligns these priorities by helping a valued local youth organisation reduce its environmental impact while strengthening its long-term financial sustainability.”

Our team members in #Shetland were delighted to welcome local school pupils from Mid Yell Junior High School to our Processing facility in #Yell.
The children in the upper primary are studying the subject of food and #farming and had the opportunity to learn about the #salmon life cycle and anatomy. They also found out more about how we raise our fish from egg to plate and the fantastic Cooke career paths available to those living in rural communities.
Pupils then got to put their learning into practice with two hands-on activities based on different job roles with Cooke. Our Processing activity was a mathematical challenge weighing toy fish to make up an order. The Environmental Officer activity was an observation challenge, identifying shells in a seabed sample.
