🇹🇭💢😡 What do expats complain about the most in Thailand? For most its the 90 day report, and i prefer to just arrange travel so i don't have to do it. The bidet spray was crazy the first time I tried it, but everywhere i've lived since then i bought one for each bathroom and even for friends. You're an animal if you don't use one now. Not gonna lie, the land thing is a big deal and always puts a question mark on wanting to stay here permanently. Thailand has to fix this one somehow -- even in a limited way. Traffic is everywhere in every country these days. Otherwise, we look at how many times people complain about each one and the annual visas for most people is the biggest complaint. Because in the back of your mind you know if you don't renew its all over. And every year its the stress of doing it and realizing you could be rejected for some stupid reason.

Simon Heffer, not exactly a pinko liberal leftie, reviews the new Liz Truss book, and it should be framed in every loo in the land.

The profound stupidity of Trump supporters is fucking breathtaking. Watch these red-hatted cousin-fuckers try to answer one simple question: “What is communism.” 😂 🤡 (Jordan Klepper, @TheDailyShow)

Yes. Free movement never meant an unconditional right to settle anywhere in Europe. Belgium, Austria, Denmark and at least 10 other EU countries require registration and evidence of employment or sufficient means. Britain could have adopted similar controls before Brexit. It chose not to. That's a failure of British government, not EU law.
Replying to @eurorealist
Do you have any evidence that these theoretical powers are ever used by EU countries?

There was an awful lot of noise this week from journalists, broadcasters and commentators about Andy Burnham appearing on Gogglebox. Accusing him of not taking his role as PM seriously. Worth remembering many of them cheered this clown all the way into Downing Street @bbclaurak

So they need to get in a new actor to play Josh, but they keep Hilda to play the part of Joy's moggie. Make it make sense. #Thearchers

The UK is only in debt because it Privatised everything. If Margaret Thatcher had never existed and we never privatised Oil, Gas, Electricity, Airports, Water, Mail, Rail, Rolls Royce, British Airways... We would have Trillions of Pounds and own everything, just like Norway.

Stop letting cunty off the hook with the “he has dementia” line. He’s a malignant fucking narcissist. Both can present in similar ways. Aging Narcissists are bitter & worsen with age as their physical health deteriorates & their fake sense of perfection becomes harder to maintain

Much punchier accusations from Sir Malcolm Rifkind - a former defence and foreign secretary: "I choose my words very carefully. I think this week Donald Trump has shown himself as a person to be repulsive; as a President of the United States to be a disgrace to his own people as well as to his international responsibilities. "We all know his actual reasons for this are a grubby attempt to win a few more votes in the midterms by trying to get oil prices down. "In order to achieve that, he has not only betrayed Ukraine in the middle of a war, fighting for its very existence, but he is also directly - not indirectly - directly responsible for the deaths of many Ukrainians who will not now be protected by the attempts that have been successfully made using intelligence provided indirectly by the United States." xitter.cf/breeallegretti/status/…

65 years at Private Eye? Shurely shome mishtake.
Party to celebrate Ian Hislop's 40 years as editor of Private Eye & 65 years at the magazine. Has anyone currently in public life held the same job for longer? The Eye is the greatest journalistic institution of my lifetime. Long may Ian and the Eye reign.

Given that Thailand is rated as iffy and Trump's USA is related as very livable, I think Grock has a lot to fucking learn.
I asked Grok to draw the world and color each country according to whether it would want to live there. Green means yes. Yellow is iffy. Red means no. Suck it Kaliningrad and Lesotho! I don't know why Serbia and Tanzania are orange.

Columbus died in 1505 at the age of 55. He was such a monster that the king and queen of Spain refused to invite him to the kingdom after his voyage to the Americas because of how evil he was during his financed expedition. Word spread fast about how he and his men raped and tortured and murdered the indigenous people in the Caribbean islands. He became a pariah. He had to flee Genova (Italy) because he raped a 13 year old girl and hid in Spain, where he was broke and bedridden and finally died while his relatives shunned him from the public due to the unthinkable acts he did while at sea. When he died, he was never recognized as an explorer or discoverer of a new world. He was thought of as a “gross character with Gonorrhea, who butchered kids.” Many Years later, when Settlers were colonizing North America, they needed a white hero to name as the person who discovered the land to justify their colonization and mistreatment of Native Americans. they randomly chose Christofo Colombo because his name had “Christ” in it, and to make it sound more European and Christian, they changed his name to Christopher Columbus, even though he never stepped foot on American soil. Then schools started teaching it. And the rest is history. But the truth is he never discovered anything. He was lost and ended up in a chain of islands. He thought he was in India. He massacred peaceful island civilizations. He murdered men, women, and kids. He tortured and raped. He brought new diseases to each island he invaded. Giving this monster a holiday is insane. We know better. And now we do better. Happy indigenous People’s Day. #FuckColumbus
