I know zero people who spray glyphosate to ripen wheat. Perhaps the congressman might benefit from a conversation with an actual farmer.
Rep. Thomas Massie says glyphosate is sprayed on ripe wheat to dry it before harvest. He says the crop is one step away from bread when it is hit with poison. Europe banned it, but Washington still allows it.

Hey we may not have gotten $5k DOGE checks, $2k tarriff rebates, 20 million deportations, the abolishment of the IRS and the Department of Education or cheaper gas but at least we got a war that nobody wanted that doesn't benefit us in any material way whatsoever.

In all of 2024, China only exported 262K tons of urea (vs a normal 5 to 5.5M). This year, they have exported 4M tons with Nov/Dec still to go. Current global urea values are 20% higher than the same time last year. Please make it make sense.

Since I’m suddenly popular, donate to Ukraine. Fuck Russia.
In recent weeks, russia deliberately wiped out critical power generation, forcing rolling blackouts across Ukraine. Darkness is not who we are. Not our choice. Not our future. It’s really hilarious that this site’s users are fine with expressing one, usually very negative sort of opinion. And immediately pile on someone expressing a different, often positive, opinion. I got EXACTLY the response I thought I would get from my post yesterday.

I’m harvesting the largest corn crop our farm has ever harvested on marginal ground with an end of season drought. Every elevator around is full. And traders and farmers on this old site are pissed off USDA didn’t ‘lower’ yield enough. Oooookay.

For the public record, this is what I want to see when I click on a cash bids page. Good job, former employer with no Twitter account.

Well. Glad I bought extra at the low of the market over the winter. Will be rolling that contract to next year, yup.
FYI, rumors of an upriver #urea barge trading at $555 NOLA equivalent are being discussed. If true, this is the WORST corn/urea ratio EVER for this time of year. $555 urea / $4.42 Dec '25 corn = 125 bushels of corn per 1 ton of urea

Probably one the biggest economic blunders in history. $500 million in 15 days means $12 billion a year in additional tax revenue. Literal trillions in wealth destroyed, interest on the debt increased, the dollar weakened, businesses wiped out all over the world, literally every single country in the world antagonized... all for raising a yearly amount of taxes that can fund the US military budget for just 4 days.

The Trump Tariff Tax is the largest peacetime tax hike in U.S. history. These Tariffs are nearly 10x the size of those imposed during the Trump-Pence Administration and will cost American families over $3,500 per year. Check Out“Spoiling America’s Golden Age”@AmericanFreedom 👇

One of the reasons why tariffs have historically failed to “bring back” jobs to an already wealthy country like the United States is twofold. Let’s say you “succeed” and make it so expensive to import into your country, that you can only viably produce it domestically. 1) Who the hell is going to buy your crap? People couldn’t afford your stuff because you’re too expensive to begin with. And now, since countries retaliated, you are even more expensive as an exporter. 2) Your domestic economy gets crushed by inflation. $2 Chinese t shirts are now $20 Wisconsin t shirts. Domestic consumers cannot afford it either. So no job growth. History warns us.

See thread below. It’s not a “discounted reciprocal tariff rate”. It’s a country’s US trade surplus divided by their US exports. These clowns make Pete Hegseth look like Albert fucking Einstein. It’s a complete fucking joke except the joke is on us.
DID I CRACK IT? I think I figured out at least a chunk of the math. It's trade deficit divided by their exports. EU: exports 531.6, imports 333.4, deficit 198.2. 198.2/531.6 is 37, close to 39. Israel: exports 22.2, imports 14.8, deficit 7.4. 7.4/22.2 is 33.
