My son went 3-for-3 with a 3-run double and got his very first game ball after our win today.
Now we’re going to see “Field of Dreams” on the big screen in Pittsburgh.
Phenomenal Father’s Day with my boy.

Holy hell.
The dad of a Penn State running back throwing QB Rocco Becht under the bus.
Mr. Martin is 100% correct in his football analysis, but 1 million % wrong for taking this beef public.
Quinton Martin doesn’t need his dad creating this kind of internal drama.

This is the most frustrating Penn State team.
We can all agree the Iowa State guys aren’t great. But this team is kinda, sorta not terrible. It’s decent at times.
But that’s what maddening.
Could be a whole lot better than this mess.
Major major props to my man @NathanForlina04, who called it yesterday when he predicted Michigan would turn to backup QB in second half.
Nailed it!!!!
This is excellent point about insanity of 24-team playoff.
Big games no longer matter as much. Because you can lose that big game and still be very comfortable within 24.
But crappy teams like PSU and Michigan, the game will be gigantic to stay in the discussion.
Just stupid.

Should Penn State have hired Matt Campbell or someone else?
I’ve got a lot of thoughts on this here. Check it out and see if you agree or disagree.
This week in PSU Point-Counterpoint, Neil and Cory debate whether Penn State should have hired Matt Campbell last fall or selected a different coach. (📸AP)

This is tremendous info. If you follow PSU at all, read this story. It sums up very well the financial issues facing football program.
As listeners to my daily radio show and postgame show know, I’ve been talking about all of this stuff for months. It’s troubling on many levels.
Went to Penn State to find out the story behind the empty seats.
Found a fanbase grappling with the new reality of college sports - and the cost of chasing championships.
Thanks to everyone who spoke with me.

Penn State should have hired Terry Smith.
I didn’t fully believe it last year, for lots of reasons that I’ve discussed on my radio show.
But seriously. Does anybody think Terry would be 0-3 in the Big Ten? He probably could have kept a lot of the transfers and recruiting class.
These Iowa State guys just aren’t good enough. That’s really all there is to it.
It’s not the X’s and O’s, it’s the Jimmys and Joes.
Well, it is some X’s and O’s, such as stupidly rushing 3 all night.
Still, these Penn State Cyclone Jimmys and Joes just can’t cut it.
Stupidity.
Probably to muddle up passing lanes on a short field with lots of guys in coverage.
But to me … it’s stupid. Can’t give the QB all day to go through his progressions.
You just hate to see it.
What happens when Big Game James can’t win little games anymore?
In all fairness, that is back to back absolutely brutal last-second losses for Virginia Tech. Could have won both games to still be undefeated.
Small margins in college football nowadays.
