Most investment in nature still treats a forest as an asset only because it can be cut down tomorrow. Kwaxala has flipped that logic right-side up again.
It’s an Indigenous majority-owned regenerative forestry network and fund, established by a First Nation in British Columbia and now working globally. Its Living Forest Shares tie investment returns to the forest staying alive, so capital only thrives if the ecosystem does.
Capital built to care.
We’re collaborating with Kwaxala’s product team to explore how peer-to-peer value and identity tools can serve Indigenous Nations, supporting local self-governance and new ways to coordinate bioregional economies.
Why #Holochain? Kwaxala’s model needs both sovereignty and coordination at scale. Control stays with the Nations and communities who nurture the forest. Each participant holds their own data, identity, and connections, and trust is built peer to peer, not handed to a central platform.
Relation, not domination, built into the protocol.
Unyt adds shared-ledger accounting, so value moves between participants without an intermediary taking a cut. Holo’s distributed infrastructure may follow as the work grows.
Early-stage prototyping. More to come.

I've released or been part of teams that have released some amazing software in my lifetime.
@YourOwnAI version 0.9.0 is the release I'm most proud of.
Hang around software devs long enough, and you'll hear the phrase "make it work, then make it better". The release before this were the make it work steps and now we're making it better.
The headline feature for this release is the Holochain powered syncing of your data, encrypted and peer to peer between any computer you add Your Own AI on. It's pretty simple too. Install it on multiple computers, click Sign in With Flowsta on both, and then it all automatically happens.
For your encrypted Holochain conversations in Your Own AI, a private Holochain network is created and the conversations gossip encrypted peer to peer.
Your AIs and memories are also stored encrypted on your device, and they are also synced with your others devices via Flowsta Vault. Also Holochain powered. If you're a Holochain app developer, you can easily add this to your own apps when you use the Flowsta SDK. More info @ docs.flowsta.com/vault/devic…
Something I'm very passionate about is providing alternatives to people and businesses who don't want to outsource their AI memory to anyone else. From a privacy point of view, of course, but a business building up its memory on a service that can just cut them off at any time could probably start to rethink that strategy.
So the memory enhancements have been front and centre in this release. I've gone on a deep dive on what Claude, OpenAI and a few other players do with memory and brought the good bits to Your Own AI. But of course, with one big difference, nobody can access it but you.
There are so many other features in this release. New online and offline models, plus so much more.
But it's the little touches and relentless efforts to track and squash the bugs that make this release really special.
If you've used Your Own AI before, this release is definitely one to upgrade to. If you haven't yet, it's a free download for Linux, Mac and Windows from yourownai.net/
Your Own AI 0.9.0 is out now!!🎉
Download @ yourownai.net/download/
💻 Install it on all your computers and click Sign in with Flowsta on each. Your AIs, memory and conversations sync between them, encrypted and peer to peer, device to device. Always there, always private, and no server keeps a copy.
🧠 Memory that knows what it's keeping. Rules you set, facts about you, decisions, what each work session left behind, each in its place and dated. It tidies itself while you're away, shows you every change, and you can undo any of it. And it comes with you to every computer.
🤖 New models: @NVIDIAAI Nemotron 3.5 Bolt and Super VL offline. @deepseek_ai V4.1 Flash, Meta's @Muse Wonder and @GeminiApp 4 Argon online.
🔀 Online routing you control. Choose which providers may answer you and see where each is based. When one is busy, another takes the question. Settings shows where every answer came from and what it cost.
🏃 Ask, then go anywhere in the app. Replies and project work keep running while you move around, and the tray tells you when they're done. When your AI needs a yes from you, answer it from any page.
Plus so much more..

Hi, I really appreciate the kind words.
It's true that there are a number of tools in the @YourOwnAI space.
Even without the Holochain element, I haven't seen anything that combines easy offline setup with auto-routing. Both Offline mode and Offline/Online mode. Think Ollama/LM Studio and OpenRouter merged.
But the Holochain element is more important than people may first realise. Yes, private, encrypted, signed and auditable transcripts for conversations. How this is used to create the memory system is Your Own AI is pretty next level though. Memories link directly back to a sign transcript in Holochain. Not just a bunch of md files that are changing all the time with no provenance.
And of course, the memory is private and local. So with no model lock in you get to keep both your data and memory local and impossible for anyone else to access.
That's now and all very cool.
The next version is multi-device. Desktop first, but we're working towards mobile.
Install Your Own AI on 2 different desktop devices. Sign in with Flowsta on both devices, and automatically the transcripts, memories, AIs start syncing with each other.
After that comes teams, which takes it to a whole new level again. So there's nothing like Your Own AI now, but the coming months takes it to a whole new level.

🚨 BREAKING: Node.js just dropped its OWN security bombshell.
4 HIGH-SEVERITY vulnerabilities patched TODAY, including one that could let hackers remotely execute malicious code on vulnerable servers.
→ 10 SECURITY FLAWS were addressed in today's Node.js release, FOUR rated HIGH severity.
→ REMOTE CODE EXECUTION: CVE-2026-111497 is a serious flaw in Node.js's Brotli decoder that could allow attackers to execute malicious code remotely.
→ TLS SECURITY BYPASS: Two separate vulnerabilities could trick affected applications into accepting certificates for the WRONG server under certain conditions.
→ Think about that. Your application could establish an encrypted connection while failing to properly verify WHO it's talking to.
→ THREE MAJOR NODE.JS VERSIONS AFFECTED: Node.js 22, 24 and 26 all required emergency security updates.
→ RUNNING NODE.JS 18 OR 20? Those versions are END-OF-LIFE and aren't receiving these official security patches.
→ PATCH IMMEDIATELY: Update to Node.js 22.23.4, 24.22.1 or 26.12.1, depending on your release line. If you're using Docker, rebuild and redeploy your containers.
PHP AND Node.js both facing major security disclosures on the SAME DAY.
If you run a website or application, TODAY is the day to check your servers.
And remember: the public release of security patches can give attackers a roadmap to systems that haven't updated.
Don't be the last one to patch.
🚨 A MASSIVE internet security emergency is unfolding right now. 🚨
Two CRITICAL vulnerabilities have been discovered in PHP, potentially putting millions of websites at risk.
→ NEARLY 70% of websites with a known server-side language run PHP. The potential scale is ENORMOUS.
→ TWO CRITICAL security flaws have been confirmed, each scoring 9.2/10 in severity.
→ Attackers could potentially take control of vulnerable servers remotely, without authentication.
→ Reports suggest PHP versions dating back to 2004 could be affected. The exact scope is still unconfirmed.
→ EMERGENCY PATCHES are scheduled for TOMORROW at 10 AM ET. Website owners are being urged to prepare immediately.
→ Europe's CERT-EU is warning organizations to patch ASAP or consider TAKING EXPOSED APPLICATIONS OFFLINE if they cannot be secured.
→ WordPress, Magento, Laravel and potentially millions of other PHP-powered websites could be at risk.
→ Once patches go public, hackers could reverse-engineer them and race to attack servers that haven't updated.
The vulnerabilities are CONFIRMED. The full technical details remain secret.
Tomorrow, the race between hackers and defenders begins.
This could get ugly. FAST.

Thanks again for taking the time to do this Tiberius.
I've loosely followed your work since I've followed @mbauwens as he has so often referenced Sensorcia. So you taking the time to write about this report and the one for @YourOwnAI means so much to me.
For our different paths to get to this time, I'm really glad to connect with someone like yourself who I have far more in alignment with than not. Which, in this day and age, is a win in itself.
For the most part, I see that most of what's in your report is either in place or is planned in some shape of manner. That being said, there's still plenty in it that I've taken on board to think about.
I'd imagine if our roles were reversed, I'd be asking similar questions.
So I'll answer a few of the big pieces I thought came out of this report and then if there's anything else you'd like to ask as a follow up now or in the future, please do so.
Lock-in is something you mentioned and it's something I have designed the Flowsta SDK and services around, making sure there is no lock-in.
Everything Flowsta provides to developers (the SDK packages and the agent-linking zome) is MIT-licensed, so a developer can modify it, remove it or replace it with their own code at any time.
With the Holochain CAL then data is never locked in. The Holochain backup data in Vault holds the Holochain keys. The persons whose data it is can take it or recreate it anywhere they like.
Building a Holochain app to use the Flowsta SDK changes one main assumption: the person is not their agent key. A Flowsta identity is linked to the app's agent keys by a signed attestation that anyone on the app's network can verify, so one person can have several agents: one per device, all on the same private network, and one per identity when several Flowsta identities share a computer.
The app therefore recognises people by their Flowsta identity, keeps each identity's data separate, lists shared records at a fixed address so every device sees the same set, and treats edits and deletions as new records that any of the person's devices can write.
Keys, backups and recovery stay in the person's Flowsta Vault rather than in the app, and the app handles the Vault being absent, locked or holding a different identity. None of this ties an app to Flowsta. These are ordinary Holochain patterns, and as I said, the SDK and linking zome are MIT-licensed, so an app built this way still works without them. The developer would then provide their own sign-in, a way to share the network between devices, and backups.
Regarding the Cooperative side of things. This is in my DNA. I can't promise how it will or won't look in the end.
As I've mentioned before, I was the driving force behind building a Cooperative around a previous startup.
shareable.net/interviewed-ma…
I made the mistake of putting a crazy amount of effort into creating the Cooperative before there was a business. I'm not going to make that mistake again.
The upcoming groups and agreements functionality that I'm building now is a big part of how the Cooperative will run. I'm building the tech I see as necessary to run any group, but in this case, a Cooperative.
Holochain DNAs are actually key to this. @hubermanlab talks about overt and covert contracts. Overt being transparent and explicit, whilst covert being much of what we see in orgs everywhere right now. Bringing everything into the overt is what we're building.
So as the tech moats disappear, it all becomes about whether the people in any group agree to the overt contracts, and if they don't, they move on based on the agreements they've agreed to. ie, who is responsible for what roles, what happens to data created as part of that group when someone leaves, or how revenue is shared, is all clear.
So this world is radically different to what we've known before. But the elephant in the room is that we're no longer just talking about humans. I know this is beyond the scope of your report, but this piece is why I am working with such a sense of urgency right now.
I read @harari_yuval's book Nexus at the start of the year when I was in the early stages of designing what I'm building now. It's a pretty long book, so it's hard to summarise, but there is an existential risk that Harari speaks to so well.
The risk is around treating Humans and AIs as the same, and I'm not pointing towards a hierarchy, but realising the strengths and weaknesses of each and designing systems around that.
AIs are excellent with overt contracts, like what groups governed by Holochain DNAs make possible.
Just saying this to paint the picture of what I'm so focused on building right now. So I'm not exactly sure how the OVN patterns or other patterns from other projects map onto what we're building. I imagine it will help accelerate many projects.
I highly recommend sending an AI over to the Flowsta SDK github.com/WeAreFlowsta/flow… to ask what potential apps and the people using those apps can gain from it. That's pretty great now, but will be even more so in the next few weeks as the agreements and groups functionality rolls out.
