I think that Long Covid is a lot more common than people are prepared to admit.
Here are some of my most common symptoms. Do these ring a bell with you?
1. Breathlessness
2. Tinnitus
3. Crushing fatigue after minimum effort.
4. Racing heart rate
5. A feeling of being poisoned.
6. Terrible joint pains.
7. Muscle spasms.
7. Feeling confused and constantly forgetting things.
8. Feeling as if you have dementia, especially after exertion.
9. Feeling hot when it's cold and cold when it's hot.
10. Extreme Clumsiness.

Channel 4's The Experiment terrified me. How easily can society be persuaded that stripping disabled people of independence is compassion?

Two points: first, there is no 'after Covid'. There is 'after the end of societal non-pharmaceutical interventions'. Second, Covid can cause both prolonged fatigue and prolonged cognitive dysfunction. Because Covid is so common, population level effects are inevitable.

Lula won by nearly 4.4 million votes.
Mendoza offers no evidence that the extension altered the result.
The problem with Reform UK is they instantly call doubt on democratic processes when their person isn’t elected. That’s a genuine danger to democracy.
Bolsonaro’s own campaign also requested extended voting hours.
It’s very disappointing to see people who usually defend democracy somehow excuse the blatant irregularities in Brazil’s election as being acceptable to “stop authoritarianism”. Even if you agree that the polls should have been extended, the fact the order to do so was received so late meant that many municipalities had already closed their election stations and were forbidden from reopening them. It seems extremely suspicious in the least that the areas that hadn’t closed them were all seemingly Lula bastions.
An election lacks integrity if rules are inconsistently applied. Even Lula partisans should be able to understand that. Unless of course they are more interested in their favoured candidate winning rather than democracy itself.

UK ministers are reportedly holding emergency COBRA meetings up to twice a week as England's drought crisis worsens.
Wimbleball Reservoir is reportedly down to 13% and Ardingly to 17%, with a worst-case government scenario warning of “Day Zero” before Christmas.
Recent rain won't undo months of drought. The government is scrambling to protect water supplies, but the risks are real.

Remember that “Portillo”moment? Well @SuellaBraverman ,blacks can’t be English, & @RobertJenrick who attacks the interviewer rather than callout racism, are both predicated to lose their seats. It’ll be the Portillo moment++++ 😍

Reject the Board of Deputies
The Board of Deputies' declaration that The Green Party of England & Wales is a "racist" party would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting.

Congratulations to President Lula on a stunning, historic re-election.
A political comeback that will be remembered for generations to come.
This is a victory for the people, for the planet and for peace.

BBC PAID HIM 6X MORE.
THE TRIBUNAL SAID THAT WAS ILLEGAL.
Samira Ahmed @SamiraAhmedUK presented Newswatch on @BBC for years. Same format. Same length. Same job. Read viewer feedback on camera, wrap it up, go home.
Jeremy Vine @theJeremyVine did exactly the same thing on Points of View.
She got £440 per episode. He got £3,000.
Ahmed spent years trying to fix it quietly through internal BBC processes. The BBC said there was no problem.
She filed for tribunal. In January 2020, the tribunal ruled unanimously in her favour. The BBC could not explain the difference. They tried. They argued Vine needed "a glint in the eye" and to be "cheeky."
The tribunal said that was not a skill. It was a story the BBC told itself.
The total underpayment was close to £700,000. Sarah Montague, another BBC woman, settled separately for around £400,000.
The National Union of Journalists flagged around 70 more cases waiting resolution internally. After Ahmed won, 700 BBC women received pay rises.
The BBC's statement after losing? They regretted it had gone to tribunal.
Not that they paid a woman six times less than a man for the same work for years. Just that it became public.

Despite how happy I am for Brazil, the hypocrisy of the international applause is hard to ignore. The same actors cheering Lula’s 4th term called Chávez a dictator for it and vilified PSUV for “human rights abuses” while turning a blind eye to Lula’s troops committing rape and war crimes in Haiti. Lula is afforded their sympathy because he maintained neoliberal economics, played nice with Noboa and Jolani, blocked Venezuela from BRICS, and aligned with U.S. intervention abroad. This election result is, without a doubt, a victory for the sovereignty of Latin America against egregious election interference. But not all those applauding are cheering for our sovereignty. And, as yet another Latin American country joins U.S. mercenaries in Haiti, it’s pretty gross that certain ‘human rights activists’ (especially the Latin American pachamama libs) ignore the stain on humanity that was MINUSTAH simply because it was in service of the U.S. interests.

Shabana Mahmood disgracefully equates neo-Nazi skinheads with pensioners protesting against Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
She claims to be part of the pro-Palestinian movement. She is nothing of the sort. She is complicit in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Shame on her. Hope the ministerial car was worth it.
