No one attempted to obstruct anything.
No one attempted to put him in jail before his testimony. And Devon Archer was supposed to have been in front of Congress last week, and a time before that, and a time before that, he always cancelled.
Devon Archer committed millions of dollars of bank fraud. He was tried, found guilty, and sentenced to jail. He appealed and was still found guilty, and his jail sentence upheld.
The DOJ asked to finalize a date to bring him to jail. At no point was he going to be taken to jail on Monday.
Devon Archer's attorney made a statement that refuted the NY Post's claim and confirmed he would be showing up for Congress on Monday.
The entire outrage was fake.
It was a fictionalized account to make headlines and then get to look "tough against corruption" for the big win that the person who was set to appear on Monday was still going to appear.
Is this really what Congress should be spending its time doing? Making up stories to be fake heroes? Undermining our Justice department all while doing nothing for the citizens of our country?
Mr. Speaker, is this the House you want to be remembered for?
