After quite a bit of thought and deliberation, I've joined @TheGreenParty! My hesitation has never been about the principles the Greens stand for, but about my belief that real, lasting change must go beyond party politics. We can't rely solely on short-term election cycles to deliver the fundamental transformation our world needs. I believe the real power for change lies with people. In building collective civic power. Demonstrating what's possible and creating the public demand and political mandate for a better future. Politics should respond to that demand, enabling change rather than determining the limits of what's possible. But here's the thing... the Greens are already calling for so much of the change we desperately need. I've been increasingly encouraged by @ZackPolanski and the Greens' willingness to challenge the political consensus on Gaza, climate change, inequality and the need to fundamentally rethink our economy. At a time when so much of politics is driven by short-term electoral calculations, vested interests and political convenience, that matters more than ever. My conviction that lasting change must be built from the ground up hasn't changed, but neither should that stop me from supporting a party that's already prepared to challenge the status quo. We need to build the public demand for a better future, and we should recognise those who are already fighting to deliver it. That's why I've decided to join the Greens! 💚

The biggest benefits claimant in the UK. They claim an eye watering £17,500,000,000 a year. The same as 4.4m people on benefits. How? Because they claim ALL their costs, every wage, every oil rig, every tanker. Completely nationalised, but the profits are Privatised.
At what point do we stop focusing on who needs to pay more tax and start asking where all of our tax money is going.

The Labour Government are arming a genocide. And arresting those who do their moral duty to protest it. Even when they eventually reverse it - it should be a huge shame and stain on them forever.
"You didn't join the police force to do this, did you?" On the eve of the Supreme Court hearing on the Palestine Action ban, a 94-year-old barrister tells @ShehabKhan why she got arrested, and the words that made her arresting officer cry. Watch the full interview 👇

Is Zionism racism? Watch this video from nearly 40 years ago — the question is unfortunately more urgent than ever.
In 1987, the debate over Zionism, racism, and Palestinian rights was already decades old. In 1975, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 3379, declaring Zionism a form of racism and racial discrimination, a resolution that remained in effect until its repeal in

Labour retrospectively kicking away the ladder from people who have come to this country in good faith to contribute and to bring massive benefits to all of us is cruel, cowardly, and un British. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Fascinating to see how the ‘Is Zionism racism’ question was debated on TV nearly 40 years ago. History really does repeat itself. Well worth your time:

So Labour is ready to work with Reform UK - an utterly corrupt far-right party renowned for its racism & sleaze - but not with the Green Party? Is that because Reform UK supports the genocidal Israeli government, @andyburnham? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx21…

All of this is based on a pernicious lie that both media and political establishments have promoted in Britain: that immigration is responsible for our country’s problems. Not the financial sector, which plunged the country into a disaster from which we have never recovered.

"Really important to recognise the concessions being made" whilst the Labour Government still push through laws more right wing on immigration than the Tories. This is Labours new strategy. Announce something awful. Then row back a little and pretend they've won concessions.

Quite revealing that Labour will work happily with the Tories or even Reform but are determined to turn Green Party opposition to a genocide into a local political football. Andy Burnham. Keir Starmer. The Labour Party still feels very Peter Mandleson. Join.greenparty.org.uk
🟢 EXCL: Understand Green cllrs on Havant Council have submitted a motion of no confidence in the Labour leader after Labour pulled out of the power sharing deal over the ZIR motion. The Havant Greens had said they recognised problematic elements of the motion but denied it was anti semitic and said they could not ask the party leadership to reject it as it was voted for democratically by members. Havant was ran by a “rainbow coalition” of Labour, Greens & LDs. Current make up of HBC: Reform - 9 Labour - 7 Conservative- 5 LD - 5 Greens - 5 Independent- 4 Plus one seat vacant due to by elex

Fact check: @labourpress just got ratioed bigtime by Polanski.
Replying to @labourpress
Fact check: Labour are arming a genocide. Andy Burnham and Ed Miliband offer apologies over Gaza - but continue to arm a genocide. Labour call those who oppose the genocide - even those of us who are Jewish - antisemitic. More and more people see through this absolute charade.

Labour will collapse your local council and hand it to the incompetent boobs at Reform, because of insufficient fealty to Israel.

Time and again, working-class people have been left behind. These immigration changes send a clear message: whether you're born here or come here, you're worth less if you don't earn enough.

I'd like to wholeheartedly thank the CURRENT Green Party leadership - @ZackPolanski, @rachelmillward and @MothinAli for their steadfast representation of the membership and our democratically decided platform. This is why we voted for you. Keep up the good work.
