When I ran the Antitrust Division, we went up against the biggest companies in the world, and the teams across the table were always bigger than ours. What we had were great lawyers who knew their cases and the law cold. I kept thinking about what those lawyers could accomplish with technology that really understood their work, knew what they were trying to achieve, and met our exacting standards for judgment and intellectual rigor. Nothing on the market was fit for purpose, so we built it with an incredible team. Breakthrough tech for private and public enforcers.nytimes.com/2026/10/28/busin…

Lesbian Muslims from Uganda sought safety to Israel after persecution for being LGBT. Israel welcomed them with open arms. "Back home they were hunting us. They wanted to kill us... even my family when they discovered that I'm a lesbian." WOW. Israel truly is GOATed💙

The Firm filed a class action lawsuit against the Dept. of Ed for reporting canceled student loans as unpaid debts on credit reports. An estimated $4.6 billion in canceled debt is still being reported for more than 300,000 borrowers. @cramerecramer bergermontague.com/news/borr…

Yes. Courts are not equipped to engage in those tradeoffs. They should focus instead on whether there is harm to workers/input providers (on net) in a monopsony case or to consumers (on net) in a monopoly case. Consider the repeated errors in the NCAA cases, in which harm to predominantly Black athletes (owing to wage suppression from a price-fixing conspiracy) was overlooked due to purported benefits to viewers with a taste for exploitation/amateurism. Even Kavanaugh was offended. I think that case ended your monopoly pity party. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

We're really deep into the banana republic zone here, Trump has hundreds of billions of dollars in superpac money to spend but he's still stealing your tax dollars to run extra campaign ads.
So I was just watching Fox News and this commercial played during Jesse Watters show. It says “Paid for by the US Government.” This is clearly a campaign ad. And the singers are just singing over and over again, “Love me” - over images of Trump. @CBSMiami @CBSNews

Yes yes student athletes are finally getting paid for their revenue contributions, but competitive forces are driving schools to spend wildly on sports and the only way out of this quagmire is a coordinated slowdown—a “pause” if you will— made possible by an aNtIRuSt eXeMpTiOn!
A new Senate report reveals just how broken college sports finances have become. Despite healthy revenue growth, expenses are exploding faster, creating massive deficits, mounting debt, new student fees and state govt subsidies, and academic cuts to cover the shortfalls. 1/

Matt let me take over BIG for a day to answer this question. It's an incredible capitulation in the name of "saving college sports," but all it really does is suppress college athlete's earnings.

In the middle of a crisis about the future of AI, the Senate is likely to vote this week on *checks notes* an antitrust exemption for the NCAA. They're ready to scream about corporate power in one industry. And bless a billion dollar cartel in another.
Ted Cruz says he has a “high level of confidence” that the House will pass the Protect College Sports Act but notes that it is important that the Senate passes the bill by a strong number (likely 70+, though he did not mention a figure). He’s spoken to House leadership.

I just thought the story of a company with a history of exploiting its athletes & now looking at making billions by getting bespoke legislation crammed through as a quid pro quo from the GOP & Trump would appeal to the left of center media groups. But alas...

⚖️👩‍⚖️ This week, a court let Disney use Fubo's fine print to kill a class action by sports fans challenging inflated streaming prices. It's one more reason to revisit forced arbitration, the shady process companies use to manipulate consumers into waiving their constitutional right to a jury. 👩‍⚖️⚖️ Until Congress bans it, ordinary Americans' ability to take on corporate power is hollow. Why not do it now?
